Sophie's almost 40, so it would've worked. Audrey is 4 years yonger than ME!
And please explain to me the Mel Gibson hatred. Pleeeeeaaaaase...I just don't get it.

What?! She's way too young!
Personally I like Mel Gibson, at least on the acting side. I don't watch much interviews, awards and such, so maybe I don't get to watch the other side of a person. But, something I've learned is that a person, especially one who appears on TV, can be very different IRL.

Audrey Tautou is becoming like Jean Reno. The resident French for American productions. I adore her, though, I'm a fan of her movies. Of course "Amelie" is listed, but "A La Folie, Pas du Tout" is wonderfully heavy too, in a way. I like them a lot.
Herm, yeah. And even when they show a bit of theirselves IRL, like in talk shows and stuff, it's still fake. Because all the questions and all the answers were trained before, they're not spontaneous. I think there's a list of questions that's sent to the actor/actress before the show, so he/she can underline the ones she/he will answer, train some hilarious replies and roll on TV. I know that there are some that are genuine, I've seen some who I ended up sympathising a lot. But most of them... I saw one with the XXX guy, I can't remember his name, Vin Diesel? It was just.. pre-done. If you know what I mean.

Rita, you weren't watching "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" were you, because Vin Diesel had been in the show(around the time you posted the above) and I have to agree, you could tell he was acting out the whole thing.
Wonderful news dear Code lovers!!
Guess who'll be playing Sir Leigh Teabing? The one and only Gandalf, er, I mea, Ian McKellen. I'm really happy about that choice. I'm sure he'll make agreat Teabing. And the guy who'll be playing Bishop Aringaroza has also been cast. It's Alfred Molina, which most of you will know from Spiderman 2 as Dr Octopus. I'm not exactly sure about his choice though, but I suppose he can put on the look of a religious person.
Still no news on Silas I'm afraid Ko.

And Silas has been cast! Paul Bettany will be playing the part. You might remember him from his role in the movie "Wimbledon".
He comes rather close to how I imagined him, and I'm sure they'll manage the evil sort of look with make-up and such.
Jean-Pierre Marielle will be playing Jacques Sauniere. He seems to have taken part in French films.
The full cast list can be found here.
The movie is scheduled for a May 2006 release.

My dad said they're going to film a scene from the movie here in Malta. Which makes me think, which scene would they ever shoot here? The bishop has already condemned all kids with a notion of Halloween. I'll check and see if they say something on the news.

I'm sorry, but I'm really disappointed that Tom Hanks is going to be in it. It's his accent. It's too American. :/
But, HOORAY for Paul Bettany! He's great. And it'll be interesting to see him as an Albino. ;D

Okay I found it. Apparently it has been confirmed for quite some time because filming from Spielberg's Munich, the movie I was going to get into but didn't(Sphi and Will should know what I'm talking about ) was filmed during the summer. Bah! I live in an ant-island and I don't even know what's going on. Oh the shame!!
Maybe it's something to do with the Knights and the Crusades. Meh...we'll see.
I haven't seen Paul Bettany act so I'll take your word for it.

Paul Bettany played Geoffrey Chaucer, the guy that always anounced Sir William Thatcher/Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein of Gelderland. He's been in alot of other things as well. His most recent one would have been Wimbledon with Kirsten Dunst.

Well, he is pretty freaking pale already...
That would be so cool to see him as an albino. I can so see him in the part already.
Jean-Pierre Marielle looks a lot like Sean Connery in that picture up there.

If you had gotten in, even as an extra, that would've been very cool. ;D
But there'll be more chances.

By any chance, is anyone not able to see the trailer on the main site? Because I keep getting the Quicktime symbol, where the video window should be.

I just spent 15 minutes trying to fix that exact problem. You have to download the updated version of Quicktime, apparently. After I finally got that to work, I could view the trailer.
I must say, the trailer is very catching. I haven't read the book yet and I haven't been following the production at all, but it looks interesting.

I saw it last night and I was hoping there would be protesters at my cinema but there weren't...
It's a long movie, about 2.5 hours. Be warned. Also, I've read the book and the film version is pretty true to it, but then it was also kind of frustrating because the movie was so long!! I won't go into spoilers just yet though. There were some cute moments. The casting was really good though, and you guys know I'm a huge fan of Ian McKellen, Jean Reno and Audrey Tatou (hearing her speak English is awesome. ;D )
