No, no. Of course not. Those lions are quite interesting people to talk to.
What's important is that you're with us now and there's no turning back! Ah, evil sure is seductive isn't it? We're like... Sirens! Hmmm... I think I've said that before.
I'll shut me mouth... or rather stop typing since I'm drifting off topic.

I don't remember very well. I think I saw a link from some profile hmm....I saw it like in April or something. I think in the Easter hols.
I liked it and joined. At first I didn't like butting in a conversation and stuff, but then I had to do something. To join a house I had to post 100 times at least, so I tried the first time and I met great people. Tried a second time and met more great people. Now I am a posting addict. ;D

Heh... yeah, pkia, that's the ad that got me here... I came from the HPWB site and at that point most everyone here knew each other from Owlpost or Cinescape, but Chris and Calavera got me going in rp and Rue pm'd me about slash (which I'd never heard of before)... and the rest is history
Any of you gang have ideas about where we could advertise to invite more people?

wow, memories....yeah, that add at the HP.com message board was what got me here too. That place was filled with too many adolescent kids not listening to one word the other was saying, and then reading that add....it was like music to my ears.
En, that's how I felt too when I got here, that it seemed like everyone had already known each other. It made me think that the board had been around for a much longer period of time. It wasn't until much later that I found out I joined roughly around the time when it first got started. That shocked me when I found that out!
As for ideas on where else to advertise this place....hmm, wish I were more familiar with HP related sites or message boards. Sorry

I know some HP websites, I'll try, but we can't advertise on the HP message boards they don't accept having adverts of proboards message boards. They say they're insecure or somehting.
That's why my posts there were deleted!!!

Yeah, I know other websites, too, but they forbid posting links to other HP websites.
You know, I just realized today how lucky I was to find this website. There are so many crappy Harry Potter websites out there, full of "too many adolescent kids not listening to one word the other was saying" (as Moira puts it ), and then one day I happened to run into this site, where the people are actually well-versed, talented, interesting, really friendly, and, well, real. You guys are amazing. I'm so glad I had the chance to be a part of this.

The sites I’ve posting in have a whole bunch of strict rules and therefore, aside from being well organized, prevents me to do any advertising. I’m sorry.
Agreed. This place is a treasure. I’ve meet the most brilliant people here and I’m up for another great year.

I coudln't agree better. On certain boards, for ex. let's take the HP boards, well they have loads of different people, some are ok, others, are like I'm the king of the Road!! or something.
I'm real glad I saw that link and checked this place out. It's a wonderful thing, I've got to know real great people, from all over the world, and it's wonderful.

I came here from another board called cupoard under the stairs which was getting a little empty.
There were too few people to have a discussion with then i saw the link advertised and came here and registered.

[glow=silver,2,300]I was actually On The Cupboard Under The Stairs, too Natz. I believe I may have been the one who posted about it
I found this place, like many others, through the Official HP message boards. It was just wayyy too boring there. I saw a post, similar to the one pkia posted. it was a few years ago though... back when it was the original TD. That's like.. really long ago, eh?
Anyways. I think some other people came here from TCUTS too. That was Oli's board. I sure do miss him. Anywho, back on topic. Lol.

Ahhh yes. I remember CUTS. It's like, virtually dead there now, so not much for me to do around there. I remember Oli as well. I still see him around sometimes, but I don't talk to him as often as I should...
I came here from that WB HP site (probably the same one you're all talking about) because I didn't have AOL so I couldn't use their message boards. And besides, I didn't want to have to put up with billions of teenies going "OMG! I Luv Daniel Radcliffe! He is so mine! So back off! We're going to get married and have children!" etc. all the time because, well, I'm sort of after more intellectually stimulating convesation than that, and this looked like the place, even back in the old days.
