I haven't read very many "sad" books, but many of the books I own are serious, at least. Tuck Everlasting is pretty sad, yeah. I think I cried a bit the first time I read The Two Princesses of Bamarre. If you've heard of that book then you are my new best friend because I swear hardly anyone I know has the faintest clue what it is. It's kinda sad at the end for a while, but it gets happier because there's a wedding ^^ Anywho, like I said, I haven't read many sad books. Note to anyone who's read The Two Princesses of Bamarre: Rhys rocks.

What I find a very sad book, but also heartbreakingly sweet book is The Boy in Striped Pyjmas by John Boyne.
It is set around WW2 and it tells from the POV of a boy whose father is a high official for Hitler. It tells basically his point of view of moving to Out-With or Aushwitz and how he meets a little boy in striped pyjamas called Shmuel.
It is so sweet and sad, but it is definately a classic and therefore READABLE and please do read it, its awesome!
