Isn't that impossible? Wouldn't you need to know you were asserting a falsehood in order to lie to oneself, and then you wouldn't believe your own lies?

Can you believe I've heard the phrase to lie to oneself though? The main question however is, how can that even be possible? Could it entail something like trying to believe something which you don't want to accept that is real?

Is that like being in denial?

Isn't denial a river that runs in Egypt?

Isn't it better to call The Nile Lynn? Would that be considered a pun?

Do you think she was trying to be punny?

Isn't a pun a humorous play on words? Would you then consider Hermy's sentence amusing?

Are you aware that the "she" I was referring to was Lynn, in response to Hermy's post? Why do you think I would address Hermy and refer to her in the third person?

Don't you think people who refer to themselves in the third person are quite annoying? But don't you also think that doing so can be fun and quite hilarious, at times?

Why do you see it so Ice? Did you know that I do it out of mere fun in normal speech? ;D

But what does "she" or "he" mean without someone to refer to?

Could it possibly refer to the person you are talking about?

What would be the consequence if everyone was to deny such a point?

Aren't denial and understanding different things?
