no pictures of the tattoo yet. It's fairly new. No anesthetic for my tongue I didnt feel it at all actually. It was swollen for about 2 days and it's cool now.

Ooh, only two days? That's pretty good I think. So, did you drink water and have soup and milkshakes and icecream for two days? And do you have to scrub your barbell with a toothbrush? I got told I had to scrub my tongue ring to stop plaque collecting on it or something...

yeah I got it done on a friday night and it was good by monday morning... I couldnt eat solid foodds for like a week. no dairy. for the first week I had to rinse with mouthwash after everything i ate and after that it was ater every meal. I take it out to brush my teeth and i drop it in cleaner.

Cool... I got my tongue ring taken out and got a teeny little barbell put in. I decided to change it because the bead on the ring was really messing with my gums and the back of my lower teeth, because it'd protrude and basically bang on the back of my teeth and then rub on my gums so they were sore. So I got a barbell instead, because it doesn't poke as far and won't erode my gums (as much anyway, hopefully). The barbell is a metallic pink and it was supposed to be an eyebrow ring to start with, so it's really skinny and teeny. Plus if I can unscrew it and everything then I can clean it too, so it doesn't get nasty plaque growing on it (since my tongue ring already did, and it was only in my mouth for like 2 weeks. )

Oooh, pretty. Yeah, I had a ring to start with because a frenum is small enough to get a whole ring through without affecting your tongue's mobility (in theory). I think htey start with the ring in case it swells up and there's not enough room on a barbell to accomdate the swelling (but mine didn't swell at all, haha). Actually, I found with the barbell I have in now much more comfortable, because it has teeny little beads (since it's supposed to be an eyebrow ring). It sits much better and doesn't rub against my teeth and gums. Plus I can poke my tongue out farther than I could with the tongue ring, if I ever need to do that. I really like it, but I'm scared the bead on the barbell will unscrew itself and I'll end up eating it or the whole barbell since it's so small...

I was afraid mine would unscrew too. I have a spacer I wear when im being 'professional' (lol) that is flat on top instead of a ball so it lays flat against my tongue making it practically invisible and iva always been afraid that it will unscrew and i'll swallow it.

I really like it, but I'm scared the bead on the barbell will unscrew itself and I'll end up eating it or the whole barbell since it's so small... I've always made a point of tightening my tongue and labret piercings at least once a day out of paranoia. Now I do it almost subconciously. If things go as planned then I'll be getting one of the two tattoos I want within the next 2-3 months. ;D So very excited.

Oooh, purdy. Gah, I have to stay away from facial piercings. For some reason lawyers are much more credible when they don't have them (although when I had purple hair my clients liked that...).
I want to get a tattoo with stars on it as well... but I can't decide what. I saw a pretty cool graffiti-style pentacle star looking thing, that's kind of cool but I don't know if it'd work on me, plus yellow ink wouldn't really show up as well without the outline.
I'll just focus on getting my back piece done first...

For all I've said about facial piercings...
...I really, really want my labret pierced. I will probably do that after winter break.

Ended up getting my nostril pierced. My friend Courtney is a piercer and she did it (she was apprenticing at the time I got my tongue frenum done) so it was pretty cool to have her stick a needle in me, but wow did that hurt like the dickens. That is by far the most painful piercing I've done (and I now have 11), in the sense that the pain is so ridiculously intense that it made my eyes water, but after a couple of minutes, it was okay. But it bled a lot too, and I'm not used to the nose screw yet, so it feels like I have a big metal booger in my nose that I can't remove. But yeah, I like the piercing. I will get a ring in there eventually too, given that legal work seems further and further out of the picture...
