*coughs from the depths of Rubes' comfy armchair*
Dost I hear a roar?
*she jostles herself from her seat, stretching a bit as she makes her way towards Ice*
This place's been deserted like my great aunt's house.
*she looks around*
Gosh! I'm telling you, ever since SPEW was founded our commons have been going to the dumps. I mean, I swear that Granger girl has blocked all house elfs from coming in here. Look at this! *picks up a plate of mouldy marshmallows on the mantelpiece* Can't understand the logic behind it. It's their job they're doing, nothing more...nothing less...
*looks at Ice as if expecting her own reaction to this*

Aha! Life does remain in the deep recesses of our rather dusty common room!!
*frowns* that is quite stomach-turning. *blinks*
yeah, i've noticed. you think she's still up to making clothes and leaving them lying around?
we should have a chat with this girl; try and talk some sense into her. dont know how far we'll get, but we should try. *shrug*
so, whaddya say to throwing a party in honor of the new school year/early Yule celebration?
ooc: btw, is there going to be a yule ball this year?

*Enter's common room, having returned from a long holiday*
Agreed, this place needs a bit of cleaning and redecorating - perhaps some new colours, carpets etc should do the job.
And I also agree with Sarah - we should definitely hold a Yule Ball this year - should provide a bit of "inter-house cohesion" as the founder of SPEW would put it.

ooc: btw, is there going to be a yule ball this year? OOC: I believe that it won't be held and to hold one ourselves would be a bit too much, even by RP standards. Technically I could create a board for it myself but it's something we four Ringwraiths haven't discussed really.
BIC: *she brings out her wand and vanishes the revolting plate of marshmallows*
I agree with Wiz - we should definately redecorate. The lions lok so sad.
*she looks up at the Gryffindor banner hanging over the fireplace with a mournful-looking lion draped on it*
And since the house elves have, for some reason or other, seemingly refused to come up here, I have a feeling this job is up to us lions.
*fiddles with her wand*
So from where to start...

OOC: Aww, too bad - I was looking forward to it as well, NVM.
BIC: I reckon we should start with stripping the room down to bare walls and a floor. Then we can get new hangings, tables, chairs, carpets etc etc - it'll breath new life into the room.

Hear, hear! I agree! And since we've recently won the House Competition, decking everything out in Red and Gold will be splendid!!!

All the more reason to redecorate.
Now then, no house elves - so we'll have to use something else to strip the place down. I think I might know ... just the thing.
*Disappears and re-appears - carrying one of the brown leather sacks he returned with from his holiday*.
Now these things really are ingenious - picked them up for a bargain from a drunk warlock in a French pub.
*Opens the draw-string on the sack and is instantly attacked by a bunch of hands (in pairs). Fumbles for his wand and mutters something - the hands freeze in mid-air, flexing their fingers*.
Ah. Well. Yes, that can happen - they must've been bored like hell for the aeons they've spent in that sack. But, they really are as good as elves - just tell them what to do - and before you know it - it's done.

Wow! Those are amazing! Do they....I mean, are they like house elves in the respect that they're bound to the owner?
*clears throat, and points wryly at one of the hands* Ehm, you there! Could you...err, could you please maybe dust the place, please?
*almost instantly, the hand set to work, busily scurrying about and clearing the dust with a feather duster that appeared out of nowhere.*
...*whispers* wow.

*Smiles* Useful little things aren't they?
But they're not bound to me like a house elf - anyone who knows the incantation and password can use them.
Now let's get this clean-up going shall we?
*Points to the hands in general*
We need the place stripped down of everything - including banners, carpets, chairs - whatever you can find. Vanish the stuff once you've stripped it and transport it to a spare store cupbpoard.
*Instantly the hands set to work and within moments, everyone is left standing in a large empty stone chamber*.
Excellent. Now - what shall we begin decorating with?

*looks around, astounded*
Well that was quick. I think what we need to do first is colour the walls so if any paint falls to the ground it won't stain the wonderful carpets. What -
*she stopped in mid-sentence noticing scurrying by in the corner of her eye*
What the-
*she quickly took out her wand*
Stupefy!
*the creature stopped in mid-run as she levitated it in the air*
Rats! This is the last thing we needed!

Bugger! Rats are definitely a problem.
Any idea on how to get rid of them?
If you could handle that, I'll go and put in some orders for carpets, paints, furniture and other random stuff we might need. We can make more additions after we've got the basic stuff in.
Cya in a mo.
*Turns and heads out of the Common Room*.

A girl with dark brown hair with the tips died scarlet walks into the room. She was in her school uniform and looked as though she just came back from potions class. She greets the others with a slight raise of the eyebrow.
"Whats with all this fuss about a mouse"
At the mention of mouse a small red fox jumped up onto Kagome's shoulder. The fox known as Gaia had an eager look on his face at the chance of some fast food.

*Returns, looking very happy* Excellent, orders should be arriving by house elf in a few hours.
*Sees the fox* Doubly-excellent - just what we need - an in house mouse-exterminator .
Now, we'll wait for the paint and carpet to arrive before we get going.

*rushes into the commons, books upon books weighing her down with each step. she sets the books down, placing her hands on her hips, and sighs.* It's been such a long time...oh, how I've missed this place. Now then, where are my fellow Gryffies? Dearest Cherry? Kagome? Anyone? *sigh* I guess a room of silence is what I deserve...taking off for so many months without letting anyone know. The place looks nice, though.
