Hello Miles. Um, this is GRYFFINDOR House. Are you sure you're in the right place? (That was my clever way of letting you know you spelled the house name wrong. ) As you are a new member here I think maybe you should take some time to explore the site and see where you fit in best. Every house is looking for members who will post, weigh-in, and avoid SPAM. It's usually your characteristics, values and traits that help you decided where you really belong. I appreciate your interest in the house but suggest that you wait a while longer before you commit to a house. Besides, most houses here have a 100 posts minimum before they will consider a person for membership.

*hands shaking, body trembling, teeth chattering, eyes glancing about wildly*
Umm.. I w-w-would like t-t-to be consi-si-sidered f-f-for g-g-g-g-g- GRYFFINDOR. *sigh of relief*
I know that there's a hundred post mini-mini-mum, and i'm working towards that n-n-now. So far, in the two days I've been here, I've got about f-f-40 posts.
I consider myself to be b-b-brave, but more than that, I s-s-seeeeeee myself as a caring, selfless ind-d-dividual.
I also have some pretty good spelling and g-g-grammar skills (when I'm not st-st-stuttering, that is)
You don't have to w-w-worry about me forgetting to weigh in each week, because my s-s-sisters KG and iz-z-zzy would kick my a-a-aaa-- butt if I forgot. (Well, maybe not KG, but still, she'd r-r-remind me.)
(Was it this nerve-wracking for anyone else??)
I don't know if I'm supposed to wait till I have c-c-completed the 100 posts before posting my intentions here, but I thought I'd g-g-give y'all a heads-up, especially considering that no one else really seemed to wait the 100 before posting th-th-they wanted to be in Gryffindor. I don't know if that makes it r-r-right, but I'm just trying to follow the examples set before me.
*Leaves room to go to the water fountain, crossing fingers, tearing up over the interview gone awry*
*Walks back in (days later)* btw, It says we can only apply once.. does that mean, like, once FOREVER, or once, every 6 months or so? Like, if I'm not accepted, but later change my ways or something, then Is there any sort of re-apply, or appeal? also, I've just reached my 100 posts, so this can now be considered official, I guess. I understand I'll have to wait up to a month, but just wanted to mention it.

I consider myself to be b-b-brave, but more than that, I s-s-seeeeeee myself as a caring, selfless ind-d-dividual. Ahahaha! Oh, you were serious?? Just kidding, of course. Well, since this is your official application we'll keep you under consideration and let you know when we've made a decision. And there was no need to be so nervous. I certainly hope you weren't nervous because sweet, little, ole me was here...I would never be harsh or mean to you. <insert Drego's laughter here> The one application rule really just means if you want to be in Gryff, post your reasons why and wait for some sort of response, whether it be questions to you, an acceptance note, or a decline message. Don't make a million posts saying I want to be in Gryff; we'll take you for your word on the first one. So, there you go Drego. Fox and I will chat about this, so keep enjoying the boards while you wait for a decision.

I certainly hope you weren't nervous because sweet, little, ole me was here.. Actually, I was nervous because I wanted Fox to see the post first.. Now at least I know I'm doomed. btw, I know that I'm usually the provocateur for any harsh treatment from you. Brothers are meant to be pests. But here, it's a clean slate, right? Umm.. right?? Izz?? Right??

Hello, Eldrith. Well, it's true that you don't have nearly enough posts yet, but simply applying for a house doesn't mean that when you reach a specified number of posts you are automatically accepted. We usually begin actual consideration of a candidate once they reach 100 posts. Ouch, salt in the wound about the house comp. Perhaps you can tell us some of the reasons why you feel that Gryffindor is the house for you? What characteristics do you have that are Gryffindor in nature? (Drego, notice I had nothing else to say in response to your last post...*whistles* )

Dear Professor Fox Birch, I think I would make a good Gryffindor because in my school I have asked about ten people, and they all said that I would make a good Grffindor. Also, I wouldn't be the one to back out even if I'm the one in the house. I think it would be cool to be in Gryffindor and it is my favourite, although my favourite animal is a peregrine falcon which my name came from. I hope you decide on me Sincerely, Peregrinus

Hello there, Peregrinus. I'm Isbister, Gryff's other Head. Nice to see you on the board. I notice this is your first post here, so perhaps you'd like to take some time to post around and read through all the threads before you make a decision on a house? If you do decide to Gryffindor is still the place for you, we'd need to know what characteristics you have that would suit the house, and what you would be contributing. Also, just so you're aware, there is a 100 post minimum for being considered for Gryff. So, take your time and explore the site. I hope you have fun and hope to hear from you again.

[glow=darkgreen,2,300]hey pregrinus! er... *blush* no need for formalities little dude... just fox is fine... i'm glad that you've been posting around a bit more in the last couple of days... how do you like the board so far? as you might have found from your explorations around the site, this is not your traditional hogwarts... other than the more subtle differences, the house members do not exactly follow the same sorting or sorting process... there are somewhat different qualities as to what "defines" a typical house member... for further rumors, see the first section of the board... hey oridan! as posted at the beginning of this thread, you'll just be asked to list and explain your reasons for wanting to be in gryffindor house and why you think you'd make a good member... what you can contribute, etc etc... you already have the hundred posts, i see, so that is definitely a plus please take your time with these questions and make sure you give good and well thought-out answers... take it easy and be honest... we're not the ones with the catapult and we don't bite *raises eyebrow at izzy* well... i don't bite... anyhow, have fun, explore, and keep posting! Fox[/glow]

My reasons for being in Gryff are well, I suppose the same as most other peoples, I fit most of the characteristics of a Gryff, like being brave and having courage and what-not. I am nearly always learning from other people, my ideas are usually wrong so I have to learn to adjust to other peoples ways, which I believe was something usually labelled as Gryff. I feel that I could offer the house a lot, being that I can be loyal, I would post my share and weigh-in every week, thus helping with the House Comp. Also, even though they are usually wrong, I am not afraid to voice my opinions, which may not be a good thing, but no one is perfect!
Hope that answers you questions!
Ori.
