The next morning, Harry awoke to find Ron and Seamus gone from the room.
"They went to go try out for the Keeper spot," said Dean Thomas, putting on his shoe.
"Oh, thanks," Harry said as he rolled out of bed.
Later, as the post was arriving during breakfast, so did the Gryffindors who tried out for the Keeper spot. Ron and Alexia plunked down next to he and Hermione.
"How'd it go?" Hermione asked.
"Pretty good. Angelina and Katie were the judges. They had everyone do some drills, then the actual Keeper part came up. They flew around throwing the Quaffle really fast. I caught it most of the time." Ron replied, "And Alexia was quite good." Alexia blushed.
"Who else tried out?" Hermione asked.
Alexia answered quickly, "Me, Ron, Seamus, two third years, and a second year."
"When will you find out?"
"Angelina said she'd post tonight in the common room after dinner."
It wasn't until Hedwig dropped a note into Harry’s hand that he remembered about that note from Sirius. Right after breakfast, he ran toward the owlry to write him back. He scribbled a quick note that said:
Dear Sirius, I 'm fine, Alexia didn't try to hurt me and I’m still in one piece. So will you please stop worrying! Love Harry
He decided quickly to send Hedwig this time, since he hadn't been getting much mail lately, and she was bored. The rest of the day whizzed by really quick, and after dinner, he ran with Ron and Alexia up to the common room to see the results of the Quidditch teams new players. It said in big bold letters:
KEEPER: RONALD WEASLY RESERVE: ALEXIA FIGG
"HARRY, I MADE IT! " He shouted. Then he noticed Alexia’s disappointed face. "Er...sorry Alexia" he said, unable to keep the excitement out of his voice.
"That’s okay, I’m the reserve, so maybe I’ll get to play sometime. The best player won. Congratulations." she said sincerely.
The next day on the way to Potions, Harry and Ron were talking about the first Quidditch match between Slytherin and Gryffindor when Alexia ran up to them.
"Hey, are you guys excited?"
"Yeah" said Ron "I'm kind of nervous about playing them though"
"Why?" Alexia asked.
"Because they always cheat," answered Harry grimly.
A voice came from behind stuck in. "Oh, is little Weasly worried about playing Big Bad Slytherin?” They all turned to see Malfoy.
"You’re the one that should be worried, Malfoy, you’re the one that had to buy your way onto the team!" shot back Harry.
"Well, if you ask me, you SHOULD be worried Weasly, after all, just because your brothers can play doesn't mean you'll be able to...what a shame if the genes don’t apply to you, Weasly, think how disappointed your mum will be..."
"You shut up!" shouted Harry "Ron’s great, I've seen him in action, and he catch anything your stinking, cheating team can throw at him!"
"Sure" said Malfoy sarcastically. "But what happens when you get up in the air and the drills aren’t anything compared to the real game? My guess is that he’s off his broom and in the hospital wing before the whistle blows." With that, he walked away, laughing.
"I'll show him," said Ron through gritted teeth.
After that, Ron seemed determined to prove himself. Despite what Harry, Hermione, and Alexia told him (“Ron, everybody knows you got in fair and square!”) He started practicing practically all the time. He was up before breakfast, after classes, and often even during lunch. Harry thought he would practice all night if McGonagall would let him.
"Well, I think he’s being stupid," was the only thing that Hermione would say on the matter "If he’s going to listen to what that rotten Malfoy says before us, that’s his own fault." But Harry was really starting to worry about him. He had bags under his eyes, and he was always fell right into bed at night. Harry was glad that Christmas Holidays were before the big game; he just hoped that Ron would take it easy then.

The next day they walked into Potions and sat down. Since the match between Slytherin and Gryffindor was coming up, there was high tension in the air, and even more so when the students were alone in a room.
Luckily, at that moment Snape walked in and he turned to the class. He eyes fell on Ron.
"Ah." Ron looked anxious. "Weasly, decided to try for fame on the Quidditch Pitch have we? You shouldn't have." He looked loathingly at Harry, "The dream team have finally joined up in Quidditch have they? Tut, tut. Like father, like son. Or maybe like best friend. Let us begin." " ”Don't listen to him Ron, you’re going to do fine," whispered Alexia.
"Ah, our new student, already causing trouble I see," hissed Snape. "I'm afraid that talking in class will cost your house, say, 5 points since I'm feeling generous. Now, if you are done being a disruption, Miss Figg, we can continue."
"That is so not fair," cried Alexia.
Snape eyed glittered with rage as they turned to her, "Do… you… have the...audacity to contradict me, Miss Figg?" his voice strangely low.
"Yes, I do," whispered Alexia, "Especially since I was only trying to tell him that you are a liar to say to him that he shouldn't have gone out for Quidditch. It was wrong of you to say such a thing to him, and I think you owe him an apology!" The Gryffindor class watched with glee as Snape turned even paler than usual, and his whole body quivered with rage.
"Miss Figg, maybe in Niagara Falls they allow you to show such disrespect to teachers, but I assure you, it will not be tolerated here! That is another twenty points from Gryffindor, and if you don’t shut up and sit down, it will be 100!" Alexia shook her head and glared at Snape, "Actually, we didn't show disrespect to the teachers because they believed in showing respect to the students, something that you obviously know nothing about!" With that, Alexia stormed out of the room.
The whole class sat astonished. No one had ever stood up to Snape before, and even though they were glad that somebody finally had, they were worried about Alexia. They had never seen Snape so angry before, and they wondered what was going to come of it.
None of the students saw Alexia the rest of the day, and that night, in the common room, the whole house talked about what happened to her.
"I heard that she got expelled and had to go home right away," Angelina said, "Too bad, she was good to have as a reserve on the team."
Harry shot Ron a look of disgust "Come on," he whispered, " I don’t think I want to listen to this" With that, they walked slowly up to the dormitory.
"Don't worry Harry, all she did was sass a teacher, really, how much trouble can she be in?" Ron said comfortingly.
"I just think I want to be alone, Ron,” answered Harry, " I'm kind of tired." This wasn't true in the least; on the contrary, Harry didn't think he could sleep if he wanted to. He finally decided to visit Hedwig. He didn’t ask Hermione to come because he knew what her answer would be. ‘No, Harry, a prefect couldn’t do that!’ The next morning, he woke up to the sound of an owl hooting. He groggily got up and looked around, he realized that he had fallen asleep in the Owlery.
After he had taken a shower, he went down to the Great hall.
"Any news on Alexia?" he asked Ron as he sat down. Just then, the hall grew silent, and he looked over and realized that Alexia was standing in the doorway.
With the whole school watching her, She walked over to the Gryffindor table, "I didn't even get a detention,” she said as she sat down. At those words, the entire hall, minus the Slytherin table, burst into applause. She glanced around, slightly embarrassed.
"So what happened?" Harry nearly shouted.
"Well, after I left, I went straight to Professor McGonagall, and we both went to Dumbledore" she explained "he said he knew that Snape showed favouritism toward the Slytherins, and he said that if it happened again, I would face expulsion, but the only thing that he was going to do now was take off the original 5 points for talking in class, other than that, though, he let me off with a warning.” At finding out that they had only lost 5 points, the whole table relaxed and started congratulating Alexia
"Wish I had thought of it"
"You sure are brave"
"Wow, that’s so cool"
"Well, somebody had to do it" she said, "He can't go around bullying students like that"
After Breakfast, Ron caught up with Alexia "Thanks for standing up for me" he said, his ears turning pink
"Don't mention it, but you had better prove me right and kick some Slytherin butt in that match" she said with a smile.

Finally, the Christmas holidays came, and almost the whole castle cleared out. The only ones left were Harry, Ron (Who to Harry’s relief had stopped his crazy training program), Hermione, Alexia, and two first years who wanted to go to the Christmas feast. On Christmas day, Ron and Harry woke up to see a stack of presents at the foot of their beds.
"Mom made me a red Sweater this year!" Ron said in amazement, "I finally told her that I hated maroon, and look, it has a picture of a Quafffle and a goal post on it." As they opened the rest of their presents, which included small figures of broomsticks that really flew, a new game of Exploding Snap, and a boxful of Chocolate Frogs each, they talked about the match, and the strategies Angelina had had them start working on.
After comparing presents with the girls, they all went down to the common room and played games of Exploding Snap, chess, and eating their chocolates. The rest of the holidays passed in uneventful relaxation, and, all too soon, classes began again.
Finally, the day of the Slytherin/Gryffindor match arrived. After sitting through classes that seemed would never end, (including Care of Magical Creatures, which was getting more and more boring, they hadn't seen a real animal since they arrived) it was time for the game. As Ron and Harry walked out in their Quidditch robes for the before-game-pep talk, they saw the rest of the team already sitting on the benches.
"Now, I'm no Oliver Wood as far as speeches go, but I just want to say that we've got an incredible team here, and we have got a great chance at the Quidditch championship." said Angelina nervously. The team erupted with cheers, and they all got anxiously in their starting positions for the whistle.
Harry gave Ron, who was looking slightly green, a reassuring look. Then, Madam Hooch blew the whistle. Harry soared upward, wanting to stay out of the way of the bludgers until he saw the snitch. His throat tightened as he saw the Slytherin Chaser forcefully shoot the Quaffle twords Ron. To his relief, Ron managed to block it and send it back in the Gryffindor chasers direction.
"And it looks like the new Gryffindor Keeper Ronald Weasly is living up to the legacy left by Oliver Wood with a fantastic block." After that, Ron seemed to relax, and he blocked shot after shot, not letting one through until almost an hour in. As of yet, there was not any sight of the snitch, and Harry began to wonder where it could be. Just as Gryffindor made another goal, (“And Gryffindors in the lead, no surprise there!"), Harry caught a glimmer of gold out of the corner of his eye. HE sped after it, wanting to end this game, when a loud THUD made him turn around. Madame Hooch was blowing her whistle for a time out, and the crowd was silent. Harry scanned to see what was the matter, when he noticed that Ron was not in the air. He looked down at Madame Hooch, and sure enough, Ron was off his broom, on the ground, and his face was covered with blood.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Ron! He can't be hurt. Can he? (hehe, just remembered what Oliver told Harry what happened in his first Quidditch game: "I don't really remember. I took a bludger to the head two minutes in, woke up in the hospital a week later." LOL! I love that part!)

::Blushes::
Aww, thanks guys. Also as a side note: I know that there is a part right here that doesn't fit the rules of Quidditch as written in Quidditch Through the Ages. But, I didn't write that portion and haven't been able to get a hold of the person who did, so it remains unchanged. Back to the story.
Angelina was signaling the team together. "Okay, he’s all right, but he has to go up to Madame Pomfrey, its just a broken nose and wrist, we think. But...we have to decide if were going to stop playing, or bring in our reserve" Harry looked at Alexia wide eyed; she looked upset, but also kind of excited.
"Lets not stop now" Harry said forcefully "Whets the use of having a reserve if we don't use her?"
"Is it unanimous, then?" Angelina asked?” She was answered by cheers.
"And it looks like the Gryffindor team is going to bring in their reserve, Alexia Figg," Lee Jordan announced.
The game had only been in progress again about 10 minutes when he saw the snitch again. He went slowly after it, not wanting to tip off the Slytherin Seeker until the last moment. As he grew closer, he put on a burst of speed, he could here the Slytherin seeker right behind him, and he pressed even more. He was in arms length now, and he made a desperate grab for the snitch, and caught it neatly in his hand. He quickly soared down to the field, and was immediately congratulated by the team, Alexia pulled him aside, "Great game, Harry" she whispered.
The final score of the first game of the season was Gryffindor 230/Slytherin 90. That night, in the common room, they had a party. Fred and George had sneaked some food from the kitchens, and Alexia had hooked her CD player up to a set of speakers. It was many people’s first time to listen to muggle music, and it was funny to watch them try to dance to Britney Spears and N*Sync.
Harry felt a pang when he realized how much Ron would have liked this. This should be his party, after all, Alexia only played a few minutes, and he did so well in the game he thought. Hermione came up to him and read his mind, "Why don’t we go visit him? I’m sure Madam Pomfrey won’t care."
As soon as Hermione and Harry walked into the hospital wing (They couldn’t find Alexia so they went alone) Ron asked if they won. "Yeah, we won!” Harry answered.
Ron's face relaxed with hearing this good news. “So...what happened? I turned around and you were on the ground...covered in blood,” Harry asked.
“Well, that idiot Malfoy started getting me mad...you know, making cracks about my family and stuff," Ron said, his fists clenched in anger, “And I kinda got distracted. Then a bludger came out of nowhere and got me right in the nose. I managed to get to the ground before I fell of my broom, luckily.”
“So,” Ron said more brightly, “How was Alexia?”
“She was pretty good, but I caught the snitch right after you left for the hospital wing, so she didn’t get much playing time,” Harry replied, "YOU were really good though." Ron went slightly pink.
"It was kind of weird, actually" Ron went on "Bludgers don't usually go after Keepers like that, I’ve never seen one move that fast in one direction. It was like it was programmed to go straight at me!"
Hermione went very pale. "Should we have Madame Hooch check it out, maybe something was wrong with it?"
"Nah, we won didn't we? What’s the use of arguing if we won?"
"Harry, can I see you out in the hall please?" Hermione said slowly
Harry nodded and walked out with her, "Hermione, you don’t really think that that bludger was fixed, do you?"
"Well...yes... I do."
"Who would do that to Ron?" Harry said, somewhat surprised at her answer "Its not like anybody wants to hurt him, fixing a bludger takes a lot of skill, I don’t think Malfoy could have done it."
"Harry, think" Hermione said "Who would have a motive to want Ron out of the game, and is advanced in magic?"
Harry thought for a moment "You...you don’t mean.... You don't think it was Alexia, do you? " "I never told you this Harry, but, she wanted to play, she's never even seen a Quidditch match, and she was disappointed about not getting the regular spot...I didn't think that she would pull some thing like this, but...Harry, it makes sense, you know it does!!"
"First Sirius, and now you, why must everyone insist on thinking that Alexia is out to get people, honestly..." Harry cut short, but he knew he had said too much.
"SO SIRIUS THINKS THAT SHE MIGHT BE OUT TO HURT SOMEBODY TOO?" shouted Hermione, "HARRY, THIS IS SERIOUS, NOW WHAT DID HE SAY TO YOU ABOUT HER?"
"He ...er ...just said to stick to you and Ron, and to avoid new people, that’s all."
Hermione stood dumbstruck, "I thought that you would have better judgment than this Harry, I'm disappointed in you" she whispered, and stalked off.

Harry was still thinking about what Hermione had said an hour later. He decided that he at least needed to go tell Professor McGonagall about the bludger possibly being fixed. He knocked on the door to her office, but to his surprise, he heard Hermione's voice coming from inside the door.
"But Professor, Ron said that he had never seen a bludger move that fast in one direction before, don't you think it just a but unusual that he got hit in his very first game? I've watched him practice, and he never falls off his broom, he’s really good."
"Hermione," McGonagall was speaking very fast "Even the best sometimes take falls, now, if there were any truth to what you said, I would have it looked into, but there is no evidence, no proof, no nothing. If you like, I can have Madame Hooch take a look at the bludger, but I can't file an official complaint against any student, even new ones, without proof. Now, please, go back to the common room, it’s late. Oh, and tell the Weasly twins that the party had better stop in half an hour or I will stop it for them!"
The door swung forcefully open, knocking Harry, who had been listening through the big silver keyhole, onto the floor.
"H-h-harry, what are you doing here?" Hermione stuttered
“I... er... I was...I was just going to tell Professor McGonagall about the bludger... but you've already done that,” Harry said, getting to his feet and rubbing his head.
"Oh, Harry, I'm sorry that I blew up on you...but I'm just so stressed out!”
"That’s okay,” Harry said, “We’d better go back up to the common room before Filch tries to blame us for something.”
"Right, did you talk to Ron when I left?"
“Yeah, he said that he'll be in class tomorrow, Madam Pomfery said so.”
"That's good. Let's go to the party. Remember it ends in a half hour!" Hermione reminded him.
Harry headed with Hermione back to the common room. He noticed that Hermione was avoiding Alexia. He hoped Alexia didn't realize this. If she found out what they suspected she would hate them. He went over and to hang out with Alexia. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Hermione glaring at him.
Half an hour later the party still hadn't ended. But Harry didn't care because he had been having a lot of fun with Alexia. Hermione told Fred and George they better end it but they didn’t care, and neither did she. Hermione was having a lot of fun with Parvati and Lavender, surprisingly because they thought she was a bit of a nerd. She kept giving Harry nasty looks. An hour later Professor McGonagall came up and told them all off and they had to go to bed. But at least, Ron had been able to come up in the last half hour with the most colorful face Harry had seen; purple, blue, black, and greenish colored bruises, and orange paste covering all his wounds. Harry lied in bed for a while thinking of all the accusations that Hermione, Sirius, and well, everyone had been making. Harry wasn't sure what to believe. Alexia was so nice. He gradually fell asleep.

Im in love with Alexia now. You just know that theres something going on with her, but when we find out, it'll be completely different to what we think. Thats a great character! Well done.

*is stunned* Okay, ummm…I’m going to try to shoot off all of my comments, but this post will be crazy long; just a little warning.
1. There were some grammar and spelling mistakes, along with words being used too closely together. Also, there weren’t a lot of periods, so I guess that means a whole bunch of run-on sentences. But, I’m picky too. *whispers* And there were a few contractions which were missing apostrophes…
2. I still can’t believe you wrote it with a group of friends. How’d you manage it? Did you all discuss it on a website or something? Did you write it together, or did you all write separate sections and piece them together? Did you plan out the general plot, or are you just going with the flow? *fidgets, trying to wait patiently for the answers*
3. Will you post something that you wrote? This is a fabulous story, seriously, but I want to know what your writing is like.
4. The characters were amazingly in-character. Harry, Ron, and Hermione seem to interact a bit differently than they did in the HP books, but maybe that’s because of all the tension. Besides that, Dumbledore seemed like Dumbledore, Snape seemed like Snape, etc. Amazing!
5. This one’s just because I’ve noticed the general pattern. Someone says they want more story; later that day Gabi posts more story. (How much of the story do you have written?) Will you post more? Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty please?

Crazy long, eh? Not just long, but crazy long? ;D Rue, you're so cute. 1. Okay, so I'm not a great editor. ;D (To say the least) I'll work on it. 2. What happened was a friend I had made on the HP Dialouge Centre wanted to write a story. She asked for my help, so I helped her. I was one of the main writers, and most of the people who's name I mentioned wrote like a paragraph or so. Mostly it was me, Ashley, and Shorty. We didn't have a plot or anything at all, we just kind of went with the flow. There were a couple arguements about where someone would take a story, but most of the time we worked out a comprimise. 3. Post something I wrote? Well, I'm working on something right now, and when it's finished I'll post it. 4. Uhhh... thanks. 5. Well, right now we're experiencing "technical" difficulties. I'll post more ASAP.
