alrighty, so i was thinking about how addicted i am to certain things...and thought, i wonder what everyone else is addicted to?! ok, so i know the choices are limited, but my brain capacity is limited, so this will do for now... pick your poison! (and possibly discuss why...or what life would be like without it...?)

Nice....perhaps you could have done an option as "other", so those who don't match the other criteria, can click that one.
Well from the above I am addicted to HP of course because it has opened a window in my life to many new things. I discovered I can write, and I want to write in the future(you never know whose book you'll have on your shelves ) But yes, without HP I would have never met all you wonderful folk and all the others from different sites.
Plus, thanks to the movies, I got to learn of so many cool actors, and I assume by now you know who some of those are.
Life without HP would be, very different. I might not even be the same person I am today. The year I discovered HP I was a complete freak, in the sense of scary freak. I wouldn't stop speaking about it, and now I realise that my friends have endured so much having me around.
So thanks to HP, and thank you JK Rowling!!!

aw, that's one i forgot--"other"...ugh. Harry Potter has changed my life, as well....it has increased my imagination in ways beyond, well...imagination and, like you, has introduced me to sooo many great and wonderful people. i just can't get enough of it... but, then again, without music in my life, i would perish horribly. i can't live without it. i'm one of those people who can't stand silence, and always has to break the horrid thing...music allows emotions bust out of their shells, creates beautiful melodies, and, like harry potter, brings people together...music is the foundation for happiness. ...i wonder who else voted for music...they shoud've posted about it.

Boy do I feel cheesy right now.
My poison at the moment is "love". I'm a romantic; what can I say? I would have chosen either HP, food, or music, but right now all I'm thinking about is this thing we call "love". I really don't know why. It's distracting me from most everything which is why it's poison to me.
... but yeah, music is a very close second methinks.

awww....a hopeless romantic!!!! i'd definitely be in the same boat...well, if i didnt currently hate the male species... dont fall too hard...'cause falling in may be fun, but having your heart ripped out with a knife, thrown on the floor, stoped on, and then shredded vigourously is NOT a fun ordeal.......

But it is all part of the experience. If it were me I would say fall as hard as you can just to know the feeling of falling like that, the exhilaration and excitement and all that giddy la-la-land stuff when you first are smitten... and when you have heart ripping/stomping/shredding... well, it does hurt for a while, but then you pick yourself up and reattach your heart and get it all fixed and working better than ever. If the whole process didn't take up so much time and wasn't so distracting it would be even better, but what are you going to do?

I wish I could be a hopeless romantic, but life has embittered me Haha... how sad...
I voted "a drink of some sort" although, it was a tough decision... I've often said that I have an addictive personality and it's a major problem for me. I get wrapped in people, ideas, projects in the drop of a hat, spend 24/7 on them, and then crash when they don't work out as I hoped.
So, "a drink of some sort" won out because I have to buy two cases of bottled water to get me through a week. Yes, I only drink bottled water, but that's because the water in the city I'm currently living tastes funny. Also, one day our cold tap water was brown, so I've been a little hesitant about it since then But I drink, A LOT... two cases of bottled water, two cartons of orange juice, one carton of fruit juice, and a bottle (*cough* or two...) of wine probably get consumed by me each week (and I'd like to point out for the record that I don't drink pop.)

Because pop is cancer in a can, right? You used to bug me about it ages and ages ago... ...and now I don't drink pop either... I learned it from a friend at school... I've had a hard time deciding too. Mostly between candy and music, but I ended up voting for music. I *can* live without candy. For a while. Though of course, if the options had included sushi... well that'd be another story. I have like a fixation with it and eat it at least once a week, more if I can help it. I just ate sushi today for example, and it was awesome... But I don't like soy sauce. Too salty for me. I hate salt and butter (unless the butter's like, on a cake.) But really, I avoid these if I can.

Yea, I voted Music. I would absolutely, positively not be the same dude without my music, I'd be..........just...a nobody, my music puts a little extra hitch in my giddyup. Theres nothing like having a bad day at school and then whipping out the iPod (or mp3/cd player) and turning on AC/DC ( to much AC/DC in my life) , but anyway, life just wouldnt be the same, it would be, almost meaningless.

It seems to think I've voted, though I don't remember voting. Oh well.
I think my addiction in this case would have to be life (which is why I'm a little annoyed that it seems to think I've voted - no-one else has picked life yet, and I can't pick it now). Life has it's bad points and it's good points, and deep down I know we need the bad things so the good things feel that much more special and... well good. My job is driving me up the wall, one of the people I live has a huge grudge against me because for a multitude of reasons no doubt (one of them being that I've decided to move out and told her she can't have my cats because they're mine and I want to keep them), and I'm only just barely going to scrape together enough money to move house next week.
However, I have a caring, kind, funny adorable and loving boyfriend, wonderful friends, and between Alex (my boyfriend) and myself we have two gorgeous cats. On top of that I know that regardless of how hard things get for a while, I'll make sure they get better because I've done it before. I don't wake up every morning to do my job, or to make sure I have enough money to pay the bills -- I wake up every morning to live, to be with Alex, to play with my cats, to see what this new day is going to bring me, to learn that something new I'm going to learn.
It took me little while, but I know life really is worth living. It doesn't matter whether I live it travelling the world and seeing everything, or live it simply as long as I enjoy it.
So yeah, my addiction is enjoying life, whatever it throws at me.

I voted for drinking, but really it could have been anything.
Like when I get really into a book I'll put most other things aside, reduce my sleep hours and inadvertently skip meals until I'm finished reading. But that doesn't mean I do this all the time or with all books so in that sense I am not addicted to reading.
But I may be addicted to drinking. I certainly feel like I drink more fluids that other people. I even drink milk. My milk is almost finished and it doesn't expire for another week. This is a big step for me. But yeah, my fridge has no food but it has water, orange juice, apple juice, milk, Snapples, bottled Starbucks drinks, and soda. The soda is more for company's sake though, that way they'll leave me juice alone. I'm convinced that if there's an earthquake, or if one of the other residence halls lays siege on my building I'll survive because I have enough liquids to keep my alive for weeks.

hmmkay so i chose music because i have music on all day long, when i drive, when i go out etc. without music i dont knwo what i would do with myself lol
My next choice though would have been candy. Mostly chocolate, i eat like three chocolate bars a day, not even gonna lie. But i could live without that thats why i said music!!

I know this is not listed in the poll but I am officially addicted to the computer and more especially to the internet. These days I leave my laptop switched on most of the time, unless I'm at school or out and about or sleeping of course. I leave my msn switched on although I'm often enough marked as Away because I'm working or studying. I check my e-mail circa 7 times a day as a bare minimum. That includes checking out 3 e-mail addresses at a time, + TD + LJ + hi5 + facebook.
Yes I need therapy.
