Indeed. It's amazing that we're all still attached to this magnificent ol' board of memories, isn't it?

Well, we spent a lot of our childhoods here, yes?
I come back to think about those of you I've come to know as "grownups" as you were when I knew you best. Also because we had some fascinating conversations, for a bunch of younglings

We did have many great conversations. I love how this is a part of my life again. I used to check in every so often too, to read some things.

...Very weird to talk to us as grownups though. So many threads in which we argued about bits of books or movies or threw imaginary banana sacks over each other (cough) - and now I'm finding out how many of you are married.

I certainly didn't. I just got lucky in finding a way to get paid to talk to people about books and run around with hand puppets

Haha !! Very true, huh?
I think it is important to be doing what makes you happy with life. I haven't pursued a more serious biology-related job yet and i am not sure i will. I am happy for my education, but it depresses me when i can't have any time for what i love. Just my time spent on The Man. So i will try to continue living in a way that makes me happy. And if some see that as not growing up, then so be it! I have started a savings thing, so that is what really matters, right?
Talk about books, and play with puppets all you can!!

I love this place. So much of my formative and impressionable years were spent here.
It's amazing how close we all are, even though for most part we're just words on a screen to each other.

Words on a screen we may be, but it is more than that i think

Well, yeah, that's kind of what I was getting at! Like, to anyone else reading this we're just words on a screen, but to each other there's something more thna that going on.

To be honest, I feel closer to you folks than to most of the people I "know" now - maybe because we grew up together, maybe because we talked on a level deeper than "hey, how's it going, my kid had the flu, I liked this book but not that one."

It feels so good to be home This funky html thing, the emoticons and everything...it just feels good to be back.
Looking at the board again I think 'Oh Lord I was so childish...did we use to count the number of posts we made or topics we created or am I horribly mistaken? Dear me.
I agree with En. You people pretty much characterished my early teenage hood especially considering that back then I was a uber shy person. I think I drove my bestfriend nuts, her having to listen to me rant on and on about Harry Potter and all these amazing people I had met and could relate so well to despite my young age.

I always loved the house comp, i thought it was a fun way for us all to compete house to house. Slytherin never won very often haha but it was always fun logging in in the morning to find the boards a different colour!
I never felt our age difference back then, though reading through now i bet i would notice
I remember sneaking out of class to go down to the library and see what was going on on here ahah no one could understand why i would bother to try and maintain internet relationships with people i didn't know in person.

Yeah...I think even to this very day my boyfriend doesn't get it, but he just accepts it as something which is very important to me. I shudder to look back at those posts. I haven't yet in fact for fear of just dying of mortification. Rather unrelated: Lina if I'm not mistaken I think I had done that banner for you. Haha ;D
