....and I thought I was weird with food. Honestly though, good that you're not vegetarian for political reasons. Usually those sorts people try to impose their views on every else, and that's not cool not to mention my dislike of PETA and such... I have weird food tendencies too. I don't like butter, don't like too much salt, don't like fat (like when you're eating meat, all those ugly white blobs... I have to cut those off or won't eat) Oh, and I can't stand when foods that I don't want to mix, accidentally do. And for example, if I eat broccoli with lemon and pepper, it has to be on a different plate than the chicken or they might contaminate each other. If I can't then I eat first, prepare the broccoli thingies later. Oh, and I always eat in order if I can help it. Meat (protein) first, when I'm done whatever else. Even if I eat sushi and rice: sushi first, rice them. Burger and fries... I won't touch the fries until I finish the burger. I'm just weird like that.

Chickpeas give me the willies.
And speaking of weirdness with food, my roommate's been mocking me recently. He saw me making toast the other day. I covered one with peanut butter, one with jam, and then I cut them both in half seperately and put one half of the pb together with one half of the jam. He gave me this weird look and asked why I didn't just put them together and then cut them. I told him it's because I like peanut butter on its own, and jam on its own, and both of them together and this way I get to have it all Apparently that's strange. I think it's clever.
I like butter, LOVE salt, and I don't think anyone likes fat :S That's pretty nasty when there's white blobs on your meat.
Hehe... the food mixing thing is funny.
I think I'll cry if I don't get some garlic bread soon.

Ooooh garlic bread is amazing. and yeah... most of my friends find the food mixing thing extremely funny. Apparently I'm a mess at everything, except for eating. Then I gotta be orderly. And out here, yeah, some people don't mind the fat. But I hate it, I hate it when I accidentally let one get into my mouth. It's really yucky. lol to the pb sandwhich thing. I prolly would've done it the same way though, because if you put them together first, then the jam or the pb could fall off from the sandwich... and besides, it's true, then you can eat all of them different things. I like peanut butter better than jam. Which is odd considering how much I hate regular butter. I'd rather eat my toast plain than with butter. It's like eating a meat taco, and a cheese one, and a cheese and meat taco, instead of three meat and cheese. Sort of.

Gah, I'd prefer a bean and rice burrito with that fake orange cheese. ;D I like fakie mexican food, we don't have enough of that stuff in Australia, and the only mexican restaurant I knew of in Melbourne was run by Chinese people.

hmm....I'm pretty sure everyone will gross out but I like peanut butter and crispy dill pickles. mmm....I honestly had to go to the store at like midnight the other night and pick up a jar of pickles because I thought I was gonna die with out.
My niece does this pb&j sandwich thing...she asks for a peanut butter fold over and a jam foldover and she takes alternating bites of both...it's crazy.

Hmmm. I don't get dill pickles. Maybe it's because we didn't really grow up with them around, but since I've been in the US every time you want a sandwich or a burger or something they always throw a quarter pickle on the side! What's with that? I was really surprised the first couple of times because I had no idea what to do with the gigantic pickle spear. I don't really like the taste of pickles here... I like old school gherkins though because they're in that sugar water.
Oooh... I made spaghetti last night, but I didn't have time to mince a bunch of garlic for garlic bread, so I had to go without.

I've never tried pickles with peanut butter, but I like pickles and I like peanut butter... I don't think the two together would taste too bad. If I had them on hand, I would try it out.

it's good you should try it. Here in texas we do peanut butter and cornsyrup or pancake syrup and it makes the peanut butter sweeter and gives it a stickier texture and we eat that on toast or like a peanutbutter sandwich. some friends of mine from Michigan just about freaked when I made it.
There are so many things to try with peanut butter honestly.

Wouldn't that be like PB and J but instead of grape or strawberry jam you're using apricot jam?
I can't eat fresh stone fruit so apricot jam and dried apricots are my only access to the apricot world. Apricot jam is also delicious as a glaze on top of yellow butter cake... I want some of that now.

Dammit. Reading through this thread always makes me hungry. I was hungry anyway actually, but I don'e know what I want. Something spicey I think because it is bloody freezing here at the moment. I've dragged out my authentic mexican poncho it's that cold. Oooo... no. I think I want pancakes. I haven't had them in so long and we bought some cheap and nasty pancake mix the other day. Mmmm... pancakes. Maybe I'll see if I can coax Alex into making some for me. ;D Tuna and peanut butter... no I could see that working. I should imagine that if you added a little sweet chili sauce it would be like having a satay tuna sandwich.

Yeah... if you ever make yellow butter cake, right when the cake is almost done, you spread the jam right on the top of the cake and then bake it for a little bit so the jam is warm and runny but not melted when it comes out, and it acts like a deliciously sticky glaze. Strawberry works too, but for some reason it is way more runny, and if you were going to do that you might as well just make a swiss roll. Actually, I LOVE Swiss rolls too.
Tuna and peanut butter... I think I'd have to try that to be convinced Vinny! But speaking of weird combinations, if you make a really spicy curry I found that mashing up a banana and adding that wil cut through some of the spice. I know that sounds weird, but it doesn't actually add banana flavor to the curry, it just makes it a teeny bit sweeter and cuts the spiciness, not that you should need to do that because spicy is good. ;D
