I found an interesting link from Chris Valentine... www.spenecial.com/birdsofafeather/astrology.htmDo you think these descriptions ring true for characters of the books? For characters without specific birthdate details, which zodiac do you think they would fall under? Does your house and zodiac combination match your personality? I'm the Ravenclaw Taurus, but I have a very limited amount of patience and would most likely make a horrible teacher. I also seem to have a problem with followthrough, as I am easily distracted and procrastinate. I'd like to think I can express myself eloquently, but the Taurean rage rings truer than I'd care to admit.

Aw, this link is really awesome. I haven't looked at the characters from the books yet, but I just checked out the category I fell into and the description seemed to fit me pretty perfectly. And it was weird because I'm a Scorpio, but the Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin descriptions didn't seem to apply to me at all, but the Hufflepuff one was spot on. I wonder how this site could be used to try to figure out peoples' overlapping between the houses.
Like, this might show that I'm really mostly Hufflepuff with only small bits of the other houses thrown in, but people who feel akin to more than one house might notice that more than one description can be applied to them. Cally, since the description for the Ravenclaw Taurus doesn't completely apply to you, do you think some of the other Taurus descriptions reflect that in addition to being a Ravenclaw you might also have strong tendencies from the other houses?

Wow, that's interesting for the leadership of the Hufflers anyway... since Rue and I are both Hufflepuff Scorpios.
But yeah, that sounded pretty accurate for me too. I think the thing about workaholism really applies at the moment, but I'm not sure about the success as an accomplishment/prestige distinction. Some of the things I'm working for at the moment are certainly both, but depending on how you look at it, it very well looks more prestigious than as simply an accomplishment of sorts. *shrug*
Oh, I found this on the same site too!

I'm a Ravenclaw Sagittarian... with a little of Gryffindor Sagittarian... (not good at diplomatic silence yadda yadda)... but I don't at all fit either Huff or Slyth Sags. It doesn't say anything about the Ravens in classes though, and I know that I am not a good student because I don't have the discipline to be... I have been kicked out of class for asking about the poisonous snakes I was daydreaming about... and that's where I was like a Gryff Sag, but if it said something about Ravens in classes maybe it'd be more accurate or something... But other than that, well everything else sounded pretty much like me. And that other thing.. the underwear thing... it's awesome

Wheeeeee! I absolutely adore this kind of stuff! Anyway, I'm a:
Slytherin Aquarians are lucky. They have inner drive, determination, and great ambition; they also have brilliance, cleverness, and an almost total disregard for "what everybody thinks," which means they can go for their dreams without caring if other people mock them or consider them strange. More introverted and full of social conscience than the average Slytherin, these wizards are easily overlooked socially (by fools), although they excel in the classroom and eventually become great wizards indeed. They are stubborn and will not back down without a fight if challenged.
I think that fits me pretty darn well, hm? Haha...

Rue- Having re-read the other house descriptions for Taurus, I'd say my personality is most similar to the Hufflepuff description, since throughout my life my family and I have been concerned with and adept at herbal and animal knowledge. Slytherin comes in second, encompassing how I feel towards my friends and my ability to finally followthrough once a subject has completely captured my interest and zeal. Although, I wonder if that's just another Huffle trait as my work ethic tends to follow the same pattern; work on something passionately until I'm exhausted, then fail to do anything until said passion/inspiration strikes again. Partly, I think my procrastination issues stem from a fear of failure and serious perfectionist tendencies.
As for the underwear thing, I will admit I was curious about Voldemort's underpants! Especially after the Fiennes catwalk strut/Diva sashay from the GoF movie, I'm inclined to think string bikini briefs.

The underwear, um, analysis...slightly disturbing.
As for the astrology, mine fits pretty well too, except it probably gives me too much credit. Even the other House descriptions for Virgo could work for me, I think...besides one part of Ravenclaw's, where it says "the Earth element makes them...from flying off into cloudcuckooland." That part doesn't fit me. I'm constantly in cuckooland.

Very interesting! I was very much a Virgo Ravenclaw Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw Virgos are skeptical, analytical, mathematically oriented, and sharp witted. Many become great magi, alchemists, and astrologers. These people love ideas and theoretical discussion, and their leaps of intuition can be uncanny. The Earth element makes them shrewd and pragmatic, and keeps them from flying off into cloudcuckooland.
Up until half way through last year when I realised I had no hope of getting through my Maths Degree, so I'm not sure where that leaves me now, neither of the others really fit, the griff is it second closest.
