I saw this one the day after it came out here in Australia, and I must say, "Fracking AWESOME!".
I mean, come on! With a cast like Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman how could they go wrong?
On top of a great cast the visuals were beautiful. I want my car to be the Bat Mobile they had for this movie. And the architecture for Gotham City was wonderful. The combination of visuals and acting made this movie a true delight to see. I'm seeing it again tomorrow night.
Was just wondering if anyone else has seen Batman Begins and whether they loved it as much as I did. ;D

[glow=white,2,300]Interesting you should cooment on the Batmobile 'cus I've just seen it.....I had tickets for a TV Motor Show called "Top Gear" (UK) and I was sitting in the studio watching the guys talking and the next minute their dragging on the actual Batmobile that they used in the film. I know some interesting facts now:
A: It's a proper car made of metal (not plastics/fibres) with full engines and you can actually drive it. B: The car cost over £30, 000 to build. C: The jet boost on the back is also real (the presentor acutally put it on....way cool)[/glow]

Yeah, I saw it and it was really good. I didn't like Holmes very much and I thought in many ways, the hype over her and Cruise undermined any acting ability she actually has. But, I do think the rest of the cast made up for it and it's much better than the other Batman films so far.
Interestingly, although it did well the first week, ticket sales have declined and even though movies in general are declining...I have to wonder if it is a movie that is best the first time or better the second. I've not seen it twice, so I can't comment.

Great movie, could only have been better if someone of the other actors' quality were hired in Katie Holmes' place LOL

Yeah, I have to admit too that they could have found someone better than Katie Holmes. I dunno. Maybe their budget was running low when it came time to fill that role, after spending all that money to get all those other awesome actors and to build that car. It's nice to be able to associate Christian Bale with a slightly less blood thirsty character as well.

I think that with all of the aging veteran actors, they wanted to put somone teenager-friendly in that role. Still, the choice could have been better.

Either that or the Scientologists blackmailed the director off to cast Cruise's honey in that role. *has sneaking suspicion the Fair Game aspect of scientology hasn't been cut out yet* All Katie Holmes can do is smile and do that weird thing with the corner of her mouth. Big whoop. Oh and she has nice boobies, which counts for something in movies. I saw the film twice and as a Batman fan and resident comic nerd, I feel that Batman Begins surpassed even my expectations. Liam did a wonderful job as Al-Ghul (anyone else looking forward to a sequel with his hot daughter, Talia? ), the new Scarecrow was actually scary rather than comic, and Bale did a tremendous job portraying the struggle between Bruce Wayne and the inhuman persona of Batman. Hooray for more impressive comic movies! Eh, on the note of a teen character, why did they pull the same trick in Fantastic Four? Reed and Sue are a bit young for my liking (Sue especially, she looks like she's 19) and isn't Johnny already young and impulsive enough for the teen audience to connect with? Blah.
