I'm not sure why I'm writing this, what exactly it's going to be about, or where it's going to head. I just feel like writing, and I'd rather write something andpost it up and get some critisism about how I should edit it rather than saving another file that will sit in a folder on my computer collecting cyber dust. Let me know what you think.

Frail wisps of fog hung in the air as the sun rose on a chilly autumn morning. It was the sunrise of another dreary, lesson filled day for Lola, who was still asleep, curled up under a purple doona. Watery sunshine filtered through blue organza curtains, casting a pale, cold glow over her peaceful face; her dark hair sprawled out on the pillow framing her features. It made her look like a frozen angel.
A lithe, grey cat leaped up onto the foot of her bed and gracefully tiptoed up next to her. It stared at her patiently for a few moments before starting to preen itself delicately with it's tiny pink tongue. Soon, knowing that Lola had to get up, it gently licked her nose, then lept off the bed at lightning speed, just in time to miss colliding with Lola's now swinging arm. She opened one eye and glared at the cat who was now pacing up and down the floor.
"I really wish you wouldn't wake me up like that, Bast."
She shoved her face into the pillow for a moment before turning over to look at the calendar hanging on the wall near her bed. Just four more days to wait. She smiled, then slowly sat up and stretched, making the bedclothes crumple up round her middle. Loal pushed them aside and set her feet on the floor. She immediately wished that she hadn't and drew them back up again, leaning over to feel for her slippers that were hiding in the gloom under the bed.
"I really hate the cold stone floors in this castle."
Getting up and looking about she saw that the rest of her room mates had already left. It got her wondering just how long she had overslept.
"You silly cat. You never wake me up at the right time."
Absentmindedly she scratched him behind the ear then went to put on her black school robes and picking up her books, rushed out the door to catch the tail end of breakfast. She was late again.
Bah! Blank already. I'll come back to this...
