Would you like to be considered for the Dean Thomas Award? Post a maximum of three (3) pictures that you have drawn/created yourself. It doesn't matter if you've done it on the computer, by hand, or however. Just put the pictures up, or provide a link to someplace where we can view them.
If you like, you can put a bit of an explanation of your picture. Just remember, this is not a place for conversation, ok? Only post if you've got a picture to share, and only write things related to your own pictures. All of this should be in one post - do not put your pictures up seperately.
The Dean Thomas award is now over, but please still feel free to show off your art-work! The no-conversation rule doesn't apply anymore, and post as many of your pictures as you want!

ooh. yumm. art... well, i don't have much but i'll try to show it here anyway. ----- i suppose explanation is good, yes? this one is sketched in pen, done in pen, and shaded in pen. umm... yeah, it's called solitude, though the little quote thing says otherwise. mmyep. next. ----- and now for something completely different! this is done in oil pastels over the period of about an hour. the initial sketch was done in light then colored over in the colors you see now. ...i'm bad at this. ----- this one's a bit old ((most of these are at least a year old, actually)) but it's a casual pencil sketch, a work of simple outlines and strokes. mmyep. i like it. it's purdy. -----

I guess I can at least put something up... This one is of my favourite Defender of Justice from Slayers, Ameria Wil Tesla Seiyrun. At least I think that is how you spell it. This one was done in pencil on this blue sheet of paper while I was bored. It's an old piece and I figured I should at least have one that is small enough to look at. img18.photobucket.com/albums/v53/wintersong/scan0003.jpgThis is my drawing of a character for a comic Luna was working on. If anyone reads Round Robin this is basically Lee Gality, but in our comic her name was Ming Lee and she's a paranormal inverstigator. There were zombies in this comic. *sniffles* img18.photobucket.com/albums/v53/wintersong/scan0001.jpgThis last one is a drawing I did for the comic Luna actually did a few pages for. These are out 'cute' characters. Mitcaahi is the cat girl and the male Elvaan is Ruki. Mitcaahi, though she looks angry here, is our comic relief while Ruki is our gay Elvaan healer who has a crush on the main character. He's also a spy for the Princes of San d' Oria. It's complicated... I really like drawing school uniforms (as I was designing them for Lee Gality and Alms) so I did them in school uniforms. Ruki is holding a can of coffee and that little elvaan you just barely see on his shoulder is the main character, Ayan. Mitcaahi was supposed to have another small male elvaan on her shoulder but I didn't remember how to draw him and I don't remember his name.

Note: these all open in a new window
The first two are wallpapers:
nxp.com/mel/img/red_dancer.jpg
Text from a song..I can't remember it's name. The picture is from a book from a friend and I scanned it to my computer and used it.
I made it for my friend Rachel. For a while she was very depressed because she would talk about how much she wish she could dance as well as this other girl at my school. I thought I could help her express that and she has it as her desktop now. She feels better now and doesn't talk about it being someone else anymore.

Note: you're not supposed to be able to read the lyrics completley, which are from "Come What May" - Moulin rouge. The original image was given to me in an e-mail from a friend, asking me to make a wallpaper with it.
nxp.com:81/mel/img/Marsters.png
This last one is just an image of James Marsters that I fiddled with to try out some new things I discovered on Photoshop.

I feel a little bit intimidated and sheepish posting these two wallpapers, because compared to all the natural talent that's been shown, it feels fakish to be showing something I blended together with a computer, but here goes...
www.much-ado.net/sarah/ring.jpg
Just a bunch of compiled pictures put together to bring across the type of theme I wanted to portray, which is pretty self explanatory with the dialogue that I put in there.

The Dean Thomas award is, obviously, long over - so everyone should feel free to put up as many pictures as they want in here! Also, please feel free to post comments about other people's work, too I'd like to take this opportunity to put up some old artwork by Nierme ;D

Ok, it's been a while since drawing Tom, so I thought I should start something again. First I wanted to try Luna... but I turned her into a Ginny instead.
She's not finished yet so it's kind of funny looking. I'll edit this once I finish it.
