Ha, brilliant Rue, thanks. ;D
I'm really not good with free-form poetry. Give me no boundaries and I ramble....I need a strict set of rules to adhere to, or I get lost. And I don't always follow them entirely, so.....I'm not a good poet.

Oh, I don't think you should measure how good a poet you are by how strictly you follow certain rules. Basho was this old Japanese poet who wrote Haiku, and he basically followed the 5-7-5 syllable pattern, but if he wanted to put in a word that messed it up, he went with what felt right rather than what the guidelines said. So, don't judge yourself based on your ability to write either with or without the rules, because it doesn't have to be that clear-cut. You can write a poem using some rules, while breaking others, and if it feels right, then go for it.

Wow, I'm touched. ;D Thanks Rue. Again. ;D I guess I write occaisional bits that are ok, but I must insist that my non-rhyming poetry sucks. I believe En could back up that theory, although s/he'd never admitt it, being the modest Alda-Nur that s/he is.

*hasn't quite figured out why Tasia thanked her a first time, let alone a second...* Don't worry about thanking me for anything; we're just talking.
*grins* En has definitely read some of my poetry too, and I'm not quite sure what s/he thought of it, but my opinion of it isn't too high. So I haven't written much poetry in the past two years. It just seems like people are always trying to express themselves the best way they can, and for some people poetry really helps them do that. But I just can't get it right, because I never feel like I convey the emotions I'm trying to. Or I'm not subtle enough in poetry, even if I know how to be subtle IRL. Eh, poetry's not usually for me, though sometimes the urge does come up, and I do my best to make something of it.
So, Tasia, what type of art do you use to express yourself, if you insist your non-rhyming poetry sucks?

Short stories, more short novels really. I love writing... ;D I'm not bad at it, either. I write silly, romantic fantasies, because that's how my head works. I spend so much time day dreaming I don't dream at night. And whenever I get the urge, those daydreams run down my neck and arm and pen, printing themselves eloquently on my paper.
However, I also express myself by just talking, letting words go. I have an ocean of words in my head, and whenever I need to talk, I go fishing in my ocean. Sometimes I get cute little fish, sometimes I get huge, complex fish. But when I string them together and present them to someone I trust, they're what I'm proud of.
Sorry that took so long, my ocean's in a tidal wave. How do you go aboutr letting your thoughts be known?

Well, I get small daydreams in my head which I try to write down too, but they usually end up growing the more I think about them, so my small scene from a story ends up having a huge plot, and I never get around to finishing writing it. So, I usually express myself through my posts, even though I haven't been online much recently. IRL I'm mostly quiet and observant, but when I'm online I can always find a place to say what I want to say without feeling like I'm interrupting or bothering anyone else.
Sometimes I want to write something other than a post, something like a story or a poem or a song that really expresses the way I feel because it's so full of subtlety, like the way you can change small things in order to convey what you mean without people really noticing it. But I usually still feel like I can't express it accurately, so then I just go on a walk. On walks I have time to think it all out, so it's like the way I can write sometimes in order to clear my head. But on walks I don't need to constantly think of what I want to say and how I say it, I just let my mind run its course.
Huh, that's pretty weird. The best way I express myself is a way that other people don't really see, but that still helps me clear my head. But I like it just the same, especially when I go on walks at night when it's cooler and quieter. And walks are a good way for me to talk to people, because I like the one-on-one talking and the way the walking takes a way a lot of the pressure to keep the conversation going, since I'm not that good at that IRL.

Pictures from the Cirque Du Soleil. They are insane. I feel like I'm looking at statues instead of people, because it's almost inconceivable that humans can do this stuff.

OoOo... squirrelly... I keep trying to do some of those really wacky spinal bends, but I can't get quite as far over as the lady in Picture #1 there I can do about a backward right angle, if my arms are braced right. Oh well, I'll keep trying ;D
And about your poetry, both of you: fneh. Am I really that vague? I like your stuff. I like the images and the way you see things. I don't think either of you have written your Great Poem yet, but I cheerfully and hopeful-ly dare both of you to try.
And form... is for messing with. If you want to read some poetry by a guy who knows how to use forms to his advantage, try Donald Justice. He's sneaky. I like that in a poet

I got to see Cirque Du Soleil, called Quidam, in Central Park NYC. It was beyond awesome! ;D I really enjoyed the music, which was a big part of the show. However, it was all in french, so I doubt I got the whole storyline. Basically, it was about a girl who hates her boring life, and this headless guy comes in and gives her a magical hat. Then two magical guys came to guid her through the fantasy world the hat created. She met all sorts of talented people (enter contortionists, funky acts, etc) and she learned how to have fun and entertain herself. (kind of reminiscent of The Phantom Tollbooth) Then the headless guy took his hat back, but she was ok with that. Quidam means stranger, or something like that, and it was very.....intriguing. If any of you get the chance, go see it! But not on video, it ruins the affect of seeing it live.

All of my poetry is really depresssing, and it's been like that from the start. I remember I used to write really happy 4th grader poems about cats and stuff. And then Gen told me that you can't be a real poet until you write something really sad. () So I wrote a poem about how life is a car or something, and "My tears are the oil, but my heart's gone from me." I still have it in my room, with Gen's writing on the page after I showed it to her. She wrote something like, "Now you are a true poet!" Then I went on to write one about my life being a big, black hole, and I'm too exhausted to try climbing out. That one got published in the school literary journal (is that what it's called?) and I added three lines about how even though I'm too exahsuted, I think I can do it, so none of my teachers would get worried about me. And it's just gotten worse from there. But I'll try to do it seriously sometime.
Okay, so here's a random picture that came up in an online quiz I was taking. The question was something like, "If you got this from a McDonalds take-out window you would...
A. Return it and say it's not what you ordered B. Hit on the take-out employee C. Eat it. After all, *shrug* it's food..."

*grins* Haha, Rue with that cat, you could return your sandwich and say "there's a hair in my food..."
Ooh! Badger racing! I never understood where that idea came from. But 'tis very cool. Where do you people come up with all this weird stuff?!

Ha! ;D That's hilarious, but I believe it's up to nearly 4k now. When I first saw the picture, I was like "Whoa...where the hell did Ko send us?!"
