Oh my God!! Now that was a good article!! I think I'm getting more excited for the third movie. I was a bit disappointed that none of the actors we were hoping for actually got a role, but it sounds like Cuaron knows what he's doing. (Six months developing the Dementors!! And Hogsmeade sounds lovely.)
It's coming out on June 4, 2004!! That's not too far away at all!! I thought it would be coming out at the end of the year, but that's a fair wait.
Love the pics, Di!! I'm trying to figure out from which part of the book those would be. Large pumpkin...so that would be near Hagrid's hut. But when in the book are Harry and Hermione wearing Muggle cloths? (I hate to admit it, but Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson look really cute together. ...Where's Ron anyways?!)
Funniest line in that article?
LOL ;D

Haha! Funny quote there, SP. Well, I was thinking that those pics must be taking place when Harry and Hermione are using the Time-Turner and waiting to release Buckbeak and save him from execution. Don't know what other part it'd be from. Thanks for posting the pics.

That's from that link Di posted. Read that article; it's pretty funny.
Ooh, yeah, it could be from the Time Turner part...so they're already filming the ending?! Or maybe they aren't doing it in order. I don't recall Harry and Hermione wearing Muggle clothes at that part, though.

Yep, I saved the link and I'm gonna read the article in a bit. They usually don't film the movie in order, if I'm not mistaken. Like there are parts near the end of SS where you can definitely tell it was filmed very early, when Daniel Radcliffe looked more like a baby than a young kid. I don't think they did wear Muggle clothes at that part, but perhaps the new director wants to give the movie a more hip feel, so when the kids aren't in classes they'll be wearing regular clothes? Or maybe they're just filming a different scene all together.

Whoo hoo!! More Pictures I love this part of waiting for the movie... Dan, Rupert and Alfonso in the Leaky Cauldron Dan and Alfonso on the Hogwarts express larger pic of dumbledore Trio sneaking out of Hagrid's hut, Ron holding Scabbers SIRIUS at the shrieking shack (and lupin in the back) plus all three kids...Check out the TATTOO around Sirius' neck!!!

Ooooh! More pics!! Yeah, this definitely makes the wait worthwhile.
Gambon makes a pretty decent Dumbledore, in my opinion. It's still sorta sad to know that Richard Harris was replaced, though.
Cuaron looks so close to all the actors!! It's really nice, isn't it? It's pretty cool that he can relate to the actors so well. I have high hopes for this movie.
Boy, have those three grown!! They look so much more mature now. I don't know if I could see any other actors playing those roles, though. Even if they're all twenty, they HAVE to keep playing those roles!!
Haha, look at Scabbers!!
Okay, there's just too much to say about that last pic!! First of all, Sirius and Lupin don't fit the image that I had in my mind. They just don't. Sirius looks too much like a bum (sorry), and Lupin looks too much like a teacher at my school (which, surprisingly, isn't a good thing, in this case). I was hoping that they would be...I don't know...more handsome? Maybe that's just the fanatic side talking, though. (We all have a certain perfect image for all the characters, after all.) Being more practical, I guess Thewlis and Oldman do fit their images pretty well. Thewlis is young but looks prematurely old; Oldman certainly looks ragged enough to have just spent time in the most dreadful prison ever. Still, I don't know if I like it or not.
Thanks again for posting pics!! Would you, by any chance, know where these pics are? I know the first two are going to be in Newsweek, so I'm going to have to make sure to get that issue. How about all these other ones??

They're all from Newsweek. The kids look just great.
Yes, I have said all along that they needed good looking guys for Sirius and Lupin, but knew it was not to be so after the casting. They better be GREAT actors. Ohhh just wait til we get a glimpse of Lupin as a werewolf...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
Just.... aaaaaaaaah!!! Not at all how I expected him, but still g-r-e-a-t!!! *starts dancing around* I mean, come on!! It's not at all how I expected him to look like, but you have to admit that he's perfect. And yes, I'm talking about Sirius.
Now, Lupin with a moustache? *shakes had in denial* No way. They better shave it.
Now just one thing...
1) Shouldn't they be wearing their school robes in the Shrieking Shack scene?
2) Why is Hermione's hair not as bushy?
Like... at first I thought they were rehearing but now it's pretty clear that that's the actual scene and... robes? Hellooo? And Harry wearing clothes that look new?
Yeah, I'm being picky.

Lupin doesn't have a moustache in that pic, does he? I can't see one...
Do you notice the cut on hermione's cheek and hand?
And I'm still stuck on that tattoo on sirius' neck... wow!

I'M SO EXCITED! Gettin really pumped here... oh, man. I can't wait and it's still a while away.
The kids look great yes... but I also found it strange for them to be wearing Muggleclothes... it won't bug me though. About Lupin and Sirius... I always pictured them younger and better looking(as in Sirius was HOT, lol and Lupin was just more warm and friendlier looking) but I guess it makes more sense they way they have them in the movie. They are about the right age, arn't they? Same age as James and Lilly and they have a 13 year old so I don't know why I always pictured them younger. Sirius would also look super grubby... like a homeless person cause he just spent 12 years in prison where things were trying to suck the happiness out of him... and now he is living off of rats and what not... can't expect him to look like Prince Charming... lol. Lupin... eh... still wish he was friendlier looking.

LOL Rita!! I had a feeling you would go nuts once you saw that pic!! Yeah, I was wondering about the Muggle clothes, too. I get bothered by lots of little details. I think a lot of us are, since we love the books so much.
Hrm, I don't see a moustache either. I think it might just be a shadow on his face. Yeah, see, all these little details? Some of them, even if they weren't specified in the book, seem okay. Like the scar on Hermione's hand or Sirius' tattoo (which I still find sorta weird...wonder what's up with that...)
I know I know. We all picture them young, friendly, sexy, and handsome, completely ignoring the fact that one has had a horrible illness since he was young and the other just spent years in that dismal prison. Of course it makes sense if you're practical (which I'm not at times). Di's right; maybe if the acting is SUPERB, I'll feel better.

I think they went for the muggle clothes to give this film a little more grown-up feel. Not so school-kiddish.
And that tattoo on sirius appears to continue down his chest.
Lots of prison people get tattoos...maybe that's why they did it. Looks creepy! Oh, I can't wait for MORE!!

Silver, I had to freak out.
And Panda, lol, what were you expecting? He couldn't get out of Azkaban looking the way he looked when he got in. Handsome, I mean... hot, and... and... engaged to be married
But Lupin has a moustache, I tell you. Look, I called my mother and she also agrees he's got a moustache. I dont like the way he looks... I pictured him much much different. And wearing a suit? Hello? Does the word "robes" ring any bells? I don't like when the characters are supposed to be wearing robes and they shoot them wearing Muggle clothes. Like they did with the kids. I.Want.Wizarding.Clothes.
Silver, hurray for details.
But Sirius is perfect, really. Because Gary Oldman was also very... interesting when he was younger. Have you seen Bram Stoker's Dracula or The Scarlet Letter? If you have, you might know what I'm talking about *drool*
And the tattoo... hmm... someone's having ideas for her fanfic *points at self* Though... no, that would be too melodramatic.
