Ah-ah! Welcome to the mysterious room without a name. Here you may talk about whatever, anything random, just as long as it’s tasteful. No crude language please, for you are in the Slytherins’ domain. We do not tolerate bad behavior on our turf. Is that perfectly clear? Wonderful. Now then, what are you waiting for? Go on and enjoy yourselves.
[Note: This is not a role-playing thread so don’t bother typing things like *enters the room*. Please, refrain from doing that. All you have to do is jump into conversation. And I mean it when I say you can talk about random things. How was your day? Did something strange happen to you today? Want to share a random thought? Come on down and talk to us. Slytherins are social creatures.]
[Note2: Again, I thought I should do a little clean up here. A fresh start, yes?]

Hey, Will! I haven't seen any of you guys around for the longest time. How's college going?! Any good roommate/class/whatever stories to share??
And are you as ridiculously busy as I am?

Poo. Yeah, I haven't been around much, have I?
The college life certainly is more hectic, but I am definitely enjoying my time here. For the most part.
OH. MY. GOSH.
Sooo... I'm living off campus, but the place I'm staying at is still considered a dorm. Yes, it's a bit weird, but that's what it is. I still have meal plans and everything. But anyway, the students above us are all older [second+ year students] and they are SO loud. Right now they are blasting the music and it's 11 pm! Also, someone punched the window located by the staircase or something. I was going to brunch with my roommate on Saturday, we exit out side of the floor and there we find a shattered window. No one has said anything, but we are very certain it was one of the guys upstairs.
Also, my bike is sucky. Nearly died going down hill.
BUT, those are just the few minor set backs. I really am having a good time and I'm meeting great people.
Enough about me! How is everything holding up for YOU?

Also, someone punched the window located by the staircase or something. hahaha ;D
Yeah, I get what you mean about the "off campus dorm" deal...I know someone who did something like that. As long as it's not too far from campus, you're fine.
Also, 11 pm is nothing. Try people running around the hallway at 4 am.
I'm just trying to get through all my classes. Just took a killer exam today...and yeah, let's leave it at that. And then I have another one next week...and then another one the week after that... I don't have a lot of time for anything else at the moment. What are you majoring in, by the way? (I can't remember if you've mentioned it before.) Or, if you're still undecided, what sorts of classes are you taking? I'm a science major, so the classes get tough, but I'm sure it's like that for most majors...
But it sounds like you're having a good time so far!

Heehee. Yeah, I'm usually completely out by that time and I sleep soundly so I don't hear anything. ;D
Oh! So you are a science major! I was never really brilliant in that field so props to you! Do you have any idea what you want to do later on? I'm sure many people has asked you this because it's the same for me... but I was just curious. In case you do know.
I'm an English major at the moment. But I hope to add Theatre as a double major. Still have to look into that. Yay! And to be fair, I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself later on. I have to start somewhere, right?
... I'm listening to "American Pie" right now. Such an amazing song.

I know, I'm usually asleep by 4, too, but once in a while... I was actually surprised that other people were still awake.
I'm trying for medicine, but it's going to be difficult getting there. I've heard some horror stories about the MCATs.
Are you interested in teaching at all? You could do that with an English major, right?
I'm listening to country songs at the moment.

You listen to country? I can't say I'm very familiar with that genre.
Going into medicine?! Wow, I'll definitely give you my full support there. I could never do something like that.
Um, no... I don't plan on becoming a teacher any time soon, but I suppose that would be the most obvious path to take. Well, I should stop worrying about what I'm going to do and just focus on getting through the classes first.
Gosh. I miss doing kid things for Halloween like trick-or-treating.

Yeah, I have a strange taste in music. I'll listen to pretty much everything.
Mm I'm not so sure I can either, but we'll see. I wonder what other careers are popular for people with degrees in English... Maybe you can go into journalism or something related to that?
Me too. I was invited to a Halloween party but kinda had to turn it down because of all the upcoming tests. School just ruins everything.

Well, I guess that's a good thing.
Thinking about the future freaks me out, but I do it all the time. Don't you ever wish you knew what to do with yourself? Or is that only me?
Yeah, it sure does ruin the social life. And I wish I only had to take the classes I'm interested in. Darn the GEs. Hmmph.
I've never actually been to a Halloween party before. Although I have always wanted to throw one. Mostly because I wanted to make little Halloween treats. Spooky looking snacks and drinks. Hehe. Well, also the decorating and costumes... Jeeze, I just love it all. ;D

Sorry, my mind is totally blanking and it's probably something really obvious, but what are GEs?
I didn't have a costume in mind anyways, so I guess it's okay. I saw my friends' pictures from the party; there was some awesome costumes! One guy was dressed as Optimus Prime, the Transformer. ;D But I know what you mean, I would so be into all that decorating and treat making too.

aka General Education [requirements].
That's so cool! I think that's what I love most about Halloween - the creativity! Back in high school a group of my friends dressed up as characters from Mario Brothers. Did I tell you that already? Well anyway, I thought it was super awesome that they would spend all this time doing that. Dressing up is so much fun.
...However, I never really had those nifty costumes. Mine were always really dull.
Hehe. A friend of mine was telling me how she heard this guy say, "It's hard being sexy in this pumpkin costume." ;D

...Right.
Ahh really!? No, I don't think you ever mentioned it! Which character were you? (If I were to do that, I would so want to be Yoshi. ;D)
haha, those pumpkin costumes should really be reserved for pets and cute toddlers.

Oh no, I was sadly not a part of their cool group. What a shame. There was even a mushroom. Yipes, I confess though... I have never played the game in my life so I'm not totally familiar with all the characters. I do know who Yoshi is though! ;D
I was walking to class on the big day and I saw this girl dressed as a bee. It was really simple, but cute. She just had a yellow and black striped tank top, black shorts/tights and little black bee wings. She pulled it off very nicely.
Okay, so my dorm's internet connection was dead for a day and I completely flipped. Well, I wasn't going crazy, but it felt like I just lost something really important too me. How pathetic is that? I'm a little embarrassed admitting it myself.

Aw, the bee costume sounds cute. I should try that sometime.
Noooo, I hate it when I lose internet connection too. I guess I'm just as obsessed and pathetic.

Psst, just after the tornado when it took me like 2 days to get temporary systems online, I felt like someone had amputated part of my brain. I don't think it's weird at all - but you know me, loads of weird theories about what consciousness is and where it resides - so I've never had a problem, even on the philosophical level, with considering my computer to be a detachable extension of myself. I also use computer terms to refer to my biological processes ("Nialle, you okay?" "I'm fine, just have a lot in the system tray"), but that, I admit unequivocally, is weird.
Oh, and I sometimes refer to my photo album as one of my archival drives. And sometimes I distinguish between the people who come in to sell me books by referring to them as 'flash drives' (people who sell small quantities of really awesome books frequently), 'zip drives' (people who bring in everything and the kitchen sink once in a while) and 'CDRs' (people who bring in a box or two of topically-related books)... ok, so I'm weird.
