[glow=white,2,300]Just thought it'd make an interseting topic . In everyday life what are the things that get on your nerves the most? One of mine is when drivers refuse to stop at pelican crossings even though thlights just turned bright red . I suppose everyone's nerves are different and similiar in the sense that some annoyances you may share with others and some you may counter with.[/glow]

Oh my god. I was at work on my break using a lounge computer for TD and MSN and this girl was sitting beside me talking super loud on her cell phone and rattling this bag of chips and shoving them in her face and chewing so loud with her mouth wide open. i thought it was discusting.
And to make it worse she was wiping her hands all over her pants.
That i found very annoying I hate loud eaters

I have a pet peeve about people who can't type properly (or rather, they chose not to type properly) and can't use proper grammar. The it's/its thing REALLY annoys me, followed closely by their/there/they're and your/you're. ARGH! Is it SO hard to think about what you're ACTUALLY typing and what it means?! Following that, it irks me when people make incomprehensible sentences of net/txt speak, like u no how u type wen ur sending txt msgs 2 ur frens or whatever. GARRRGG! It's like grammar is dead, because nobody can take the time to care! [/rant]

[glow=white,2,300]LOL, Ko I can't say how much I agree with that one. ANother thing that really gets to my head is when people refuse to pay attention to when the lecturer/teacher is spending 30mins-1hr giving out instructions and then he tells you to start work on a project/experiment/assignment and 2-3 people in the class turn around and ask you...what am I supposed to do? FOR god's sake how the damn hell am I supposed to repeat a good hour's worth of instructions to stupid bufoons who need their ears tested [/glow]

Neko, I totally agree with you about the grammar thing. It annoys the heck out of me that so many people don't even bother to learn/use basic grammar rules anymore.
I also really get annoyed when people talk (usually about stupid things, too) during movies or plays. It's rude and immature and just plain obnoxious.

I, too, echo what Ko said. And I also can't stand when people use double negatives. That totally irks me. I hate when drivers don't signal, brake for no reason, and don't get out of the way of an ambulance on duty. I get really angry when I see kids misbehaving in stores and their parents do nothing about it. I hate when people sideswipe my car and just drive away. I can't stand when the newspaper laying on the ground soaking wet in the morning. I'll stop here for now, but I could go on and on and on and on and on.....

I can't stand when the newspaper laying on the ground soaking wet in the morning. Aw Izzy, you're so cute. ;D That is kind of annoying, though.
Li, I hate it when I get an itch on the bottom of my foot, too. Especially since it's not really polite to take your shoe off and scratch it.

I know what you mean by the grammar problem Ko. That's a major pet peeve of mine too. And I hate it when I want to say something, and I know I know it, but I just can't say it. Or when I've studied something, and just at the moment I need it, I can't remember it. It really annoys me.
About the text message thing, you're right, but I must say that I am one of them. If I were to write the message in english, I'd probably be very very careful about it because the message wouldn't be understood, but like, in maltese, there are more letters in te alphabet than in the english one, and certain letters which basically have no sound at all, can be omitted, because they just take up space, and money. Believe me, the message can still be perfectly understood though.
I hate people, especially kids to whine, and the blame is all on the parents really, because they don't know how to shout a wee bit, and show them that whining really is not the best solution. All it does is give the parent a headache, and the child a possible sore throat.
What else annoys me? People who think too full of themselves, or, that by playing some kind of joke, which is really too much, they're not doing anything bad, because for them it doesn't look bad, but for the victim it is(I had to pass from that. Stupid shyness of mine! Grr! ). On the other hand, if you play the trick on them next time, they'll totally hate it of course.

I'm one of the annoyed grammar people...but i still can't say i know the difference between it's and its 110%... and spelling! I am known as the walking dictionary...i love words and spelling them and everything and people who can't spell or use them correctly tick me off. This is why I'm not a moderator...if i had the power to change Trapdoorians' posts, I would change them for spelling and grammar, and they might get mad. Pet peeves...smacking, talking in my ear, cell phones (probably because i don't have one...), little cousins, older sisters, guys, people who are being stupid on purpose (most likely to make people laugh), jerks, happy people when i'm upset or grumpy, etc....The list, like Izzy said, can (and will) go on and on and on... *edit* people who don't have personal hygiene...my mom's a dental assistant, so i've grown up knowing the proper way to do everything when taking care of your teeth and gums...thus, this has caused me to criticize other's teeth mentally....ooh! and smelly guys who don't use deoderant! although sometimes that natural guy smell is very nice...but not after 3 hours of working out or football practice...

Okay, quick grammar lesson:
its = possessive form of it e.g.: The dog is brown. Its ("the dog's") collar is red.
it's = contraction of "it is" or "it has" e.g.: The dog is brown. It's ("it is") not black. e.g. #2: We haven't seen each other in a long time. It's ("it has") been at least four months.
I hope that helps.
Anyways...Hermy, I get extremely annoyed by people who are really full of themselves, too. I call it a superiority complex, and way too many people I know have it. Those people are just so difficult to deal with...
