I have been really into my music lately and im looking for new stuff to listen to, i thought maybe a place for recmmendations would be cool. Like say i like a band then someone could tellme bands that are similar to them? Maybe? Yes? hah
Here, i really like the Deftones and A Perfect Circle, does anyone have any recommendations for me of similar bands?
I'll give you a cookie?

Okay, so in the genre of A Perfect Circle and Deftones ... I know nothing. I mean, I was going to say Tool, but if you're into APC I expect you already know Tool. There's also Nine Inch Nails, which I also expect you to know. So my help is nule. I was into that kind of music a long while ago, maybe I could be more of help back then. Now, only APC stuck with me from those darkish sounds. Although I never did like Deftones or anything. I mean... sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. They have wonderful "slower" songs. I saw them in May, playing in a festival in Lisbon, but Placebo came afterwards so I was kinda anxious for them to get done with it and go.

ooooh the secret machines! That's pretty much the only thing from this kind of stuff I regularly listen to.
I wish I could listen to more smashing pumpkins but it's so darn expensive... 369 pesos for an album? No way I'm spending that, I'd rather buy two alternativish albums and save some money.
I've been listening to a lot of snow patrol, oldish mostly. Does anyone know where I can find their previous 3 albums? Even if it's pirated, just for the meanwhile.

Hehe. Nobody in Australia had even heard of them until that episode of Gray's Anatomy (spoiler: poor Izzy. ) It is a pretty good song though, although it seems to come on the radio every time i get into a car which gets pretty annoying A good band is Eskimo Joe, they're Australian. I recommend "Black Fingernails, Red Wine".

well, i would expect that, seeing as they're from northern ireland. i honestly can't remember HOW i heard of them, but boy oh boy, it was love i'm addicted to grey's anatomy...how sad is that? will check these fellas out if you like fast, jumpy music that makes you want to dance, as well as amazing, energetic live performances, i suggest Patent Pending. been a fan for a while now, but fell even more in love with them at a show they played here in San Antonio this past friday. the vox/guitarist, Joe, sat and chatted with me and some friends a while, and we all got hand-drawn pictures of random things [like snowmen and mermaids O.o]. but that's to be expected; they're not a huge band, and they're completely down-to-earth and amazing

If you're into Snow Patrol, you may like Sufjan Stevens--although not nearly as famous. And not as catchy. But I think he's worth a try...the lyrics are fairly powerful and the music is complex.
Gabi mentioned Sigur Ros, which is a HUGE favourite of mine--if you find that you like them, I'd check out Stevens for sure. You could try Boards of Canada, New Pornographers, and you might even want to try the Red Paintings (some of you might know their song Mad World from the Donnie Darko soundtrack).
