I managed to get my fine withdrawn!I was told the other day when I went into the local Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) to go for my license that I had an outstanding fine and that I'd have to get it fixed up before I could do business with the RTA. I had no idea what the fine was for because I haven't had a license before so it couldn't be a speeding ticket and I've always paid my train fare, so it wasn't a ticket for that either. I call up and find out it's a fine for not voting at the election that was held last year. $145!I was of course pissed off because I had voted last year, but they hadn't bothered recording my change of address and therefore hadn't noted that I wouldn't be voting in Cessnock for the election. I sent them an annoyed email telling them that I had voted, that I'd changed my address for that particular election, and that I hadn't recieved any previous notification of the fine so they were probably sending it to my old address. Yesterday I recieved an email from the State Election Office telling me that my fine would be withdrawn on Monday. HOORAY!!So yeah, that is why life is great that the moment.

w00t! That's great, Nie! But hey that's kinda weird how everything is connected there, like how your electoral fine can stop you getting a license and whatnot. But yeah, I used to work at a state election office () and basically, it's actually rather easy to get out of voting or the fines afterwards...
Life is great today because it's supposed to be autumn (I refuse to say "fall"!) and it's still gloriously warm outside, and yesterday my friend Eric and I made his halloween costume and it's sitting in my loungeroom. (He wanted to go as the kool-aid man so there is a giant kool-aid jug made out of felt and chicken wire sitting on my couch at the moment. It's scary in the morning. )

Hey, getting a fine withdrawn is a perfect reason for Life being great.
AH! It's good to know that college students still celebrate Halloween! ... But I'm guessing you guys are not actually going trick-or-treating...? *sigh* Well, I'm really excited, but I need to actually find a costume or maybe fix up my old one. I can't wait! I love autumn ((I also refuse to call it "fall")), but I'm disappointed because the trees have yet to really turn gold/red/orange. And it rained today! That's why I love this season. It rains, but it is not freezing cold.
Oh, the auditions went very well, by the way. My friend said she stole a peek at the cast list and informed me that I got the part! Can't get too thrilled about it until I see the official thing though. *crosses fingers*

Brilliant! Sounds like you have met some really cool friends, Neko. I'm glad America is treating you well so far... or for the most part? Anyway, I'm pretty sure you'll like trick-or-treating. I mean, who can resist free candy? Oi, my cousin had a dentist neighbor and so the guy gave out toothbrushes instead! It's fun getting different things. Some give coins, chips... sunflower seeds... I got a whole See's candy bar once. Yay for chocolate!
Haha, omit the "trick" part? I don't know; if the trick was something like throwing a cream pie in my face, I wouldn't mind so much. ;D
Pumpkin patch! There's one like a few blocks from my house. But the one I used to go to when I was in elementary school was the best. Not only was there a pumpkin patch there was also a train ride, farm animals and a corn field you can run around in while picking corn. Now THAT was fun stuff. Maybe I should go back...
The official cast list should be up on Monday. Hehe.

Oh, hey do you have like, Halloween USA? It's like a halloween stuff store and I think it's a chain or something. That place is cool as. But yeah, I've had the whole "this is autumn and it's a big thing" do here, which is so fun. So I got a big pumpkin and two little ones, I don't know if I can carve the little ones but anyway...
People give you money for halloween!?

Nope, but we do have a few Halloween Superstores around and about. My friend wants to buy the Sailor Moon costume she found. Hehe.
Oi, are you talking about those really little pumpkins that you can fit on the palm of your hand? Those are near impossible to carve. I've tried... But it could be just me. Maybe if you find a really good carving blade?
Yeah, but it's not too much money.

KONEKO IS HAVING AN EXCELLENT DAY!! Actually, maybe it's only because I've been awake for 2 hours (and it's past lunchtime) but I got flowers delivered to my house today and it was a total surprise, so I'm all like, yay at the moment. ;D

Aww! That's so cute, Neko. May ask I who they were from...?

They were from Dallas, because it's like our sesquianiversary today. And I was up until like 6am today writing a paper, and then I went to bed so when this cute old man was knocking on my door at lunchtime holding a vase of flowers I was so out of it that I didn't even remember what day it was until I had signed for it and looked at the card.

Aw, poor Neko... Stayed up till 6 to finish up a paper? *pats* I get those days as well... when I can't remember what day it was... What's worse though is if you think it's Friday but it's really Wednesday or something. False sense of hope...
But oh! It would definitely make my day if I had a bouquet of flowers delivered at my door! I think I'd go all squealy and such.

Oh... I was squealy. I totally love flowers (I know this sounds so ditzy) and they're even better when they're a surprise. I've also handed in my stupid paper I was writing, so hooray.
Um, I carved my first pumpkin for halloween last night, that was exciting. Yeeeeaaaah. ;D

Hmm...why is life great...right now I don't know but the only reason I can find is because it's the weekend, and I can get to sleep 8 straight hours tonight.
I've been drifting away in class these past two days.
Oh and this weekend is Halloween weekend, and with that comes the 2nd year anniversary of Project Ferret, and HP fanfiction site I wrote on. I'm excited to see what they've brewed this time around.
Ko, you're in Michigan am I correct? I was looking some stuff for good and bads things about New York(any hints?) and there was this article which said that Michigans are among the most people in the US who have correct English. Just thought I'd roll that your way.

Just thought I'd roll that your way. Yeah Hermy. I'm a Michigander/Michiganian or something, I'm not sure what the correct term is! But the midwest accent is apparently the most easily understandable, which is why all the news people and stuff have them. Maybe that's what they mean about Michiganders having correct English... the people in my class unfortunately don't seem to too much.
Edit: The word is Michiganders further up north, but here people say Michiganians. I still say Michiganders.
