Attention all fellow Trapdoorians
I feel it is my duty to inform you all that J K has revampted her site and it's packed with information you'll be desperate to hear!
www.jkrowling.com
Up until recently, when you logged on to www.jkrowling.com, all you found was a list of links to JK's publishers.
"I'd thought I'd liven it up a bit," says JK on the site, which has been designed to resemble her messy desk.
Every word on the site was written by JK. She shoots down rumours and drops some fab hints about book six.
Click here to checky out JK's new look website
You'll have to check it out yourselves, but here are a few teasers.
JK dismisses rumours that Voldemort is Harry's dad.
She reckons readers have "been watching too much Star Wars", adding: "James is definitely Harry's father."
Claims that Crookshanks is an animagus are also kicked out, but JK reveals: "He's not pure cat either."
Other fascinating info on the site includes JK saying that the first chapter of book six nearly made it into book one, and book three and book five. Phew!
You can also check out JK's life story (with family pix) and find out random facts about Hermione, Crookshanks and the Weasleys among other characters.
(I hope i'v put this in the right place - as it is the most important Harry Potter news we've heard in ages.)

I heard about this new site yesterday, but when I checked, it was still the usual list of publishers. BUT it's up now! Wow, it's like a treasure hunt! I'm still trying to figure some of this stuff out...she's a clever one.
Have you figured out all the clues already?
Yeah, you're fine for putting this here, Dan! Thanks! I think a lot of people will like this site!

I've been trying to look all over the place for those hidden thingies. I've found two so far. I couldn't understand the use of the butterfly. I try following it with the mouse, trying to click on it or something, but it's way to fast. And at one point, there's this gust of wind which turns over the cup with the pens. Hmm...
But, nevertheless, I think it's a great website. I really like it.

i havn't found any use for the butterfly yet... so... i really don't think there is anything about it!!! well... not that there isn't just because i can't find it... but I just have a feeling that it's just one of those things... k, i'm gonna stop blabbering now, cause i'm just really hyper! whee!

I thought the butterfly was just an artistic touch to the site to make it truer to her desk and stuff IRL, just like the spider and the fly that also move around...
But, yeah, I also spent a few hours on the site and it is pretty awesome. I like finding out the weird, quirky stuff, like that Sirius's eyes are grey. ;D
Do you guys want to post a condensed list of interesting facts (for people like me who have slow internet connections and might not have a few hours to spend on the site) or do you want to just let everyone discover it for themselves?

Hmmm... still can't figure out what the deal is with that room with the do not enter(or something to that extent) on the door... and the hallway... but if you wait long enough peeves pays a visit! lol. Same here! I keep going back there, but I can't find anything there. I never saw Peeves, either.
I still think that butterfly (I actually thought it was a moth) had some importance, but I obviously can't catch it either. Argh. But I agree. The site is really fun and I think it was great for Rowling (or whoever) to make that site for us. (I thought the FAQ poll was a really good idea...I definitely voted for the Mark Evans thing. Did you guys vote?)
Hmm, I dunno, Rue. Should we post stuff? It is pretty fun to find things yourself. I think I have four secrets at the moment, and all the random trivia and such is interesting to find on your own, in my opinion.

Yeah, I have four clues, too, though my sister had to tell me how to find the first one so I knew what to look for.
Okay, so... *grins*...
J.K. Rowling just updated her site again.
You should totally check it out. There's a new wizard of the month, and a new featured fan website. I just... had a question that I wanted your opinions on. I was looking at her new featured website, and she wrote, "and you should know that the Hufflepuffs' common room isn't a dungeon, it's more a cellar - a subtle but important difference." *looks around helplessly* Do we really live in a cellar? 'Neko?

Yeah saw it too!
Too bad I'm still stuck with the 2 clues.
Er, there's a voting poll Sphi?
Well I guess if it really were a cellar, it would be made comfortable for all you guys and all.

Cellar? Well, I don't have that much time to look around the site at the moment (read: I haven't found the part of the site that says this), but I don't really like the sound of that. I mean, a cellar is pretty close to a dungeon (although maybe not stone and cold and everything, but wood or whatever) but yeah... what, like a wine cellar?! I don't think so. I always thought the Hufflepuff common room would be... I don't know, but not in a cellar. Maybe a converted classroom or a greenhouse or something, but definitely not a cellar.
Crookshanks is not pure cat. If you read the "characters" section of the edited coffee mug clicky thing, it says he is half kneazle. (No, not a spoiler, it's just there for everyone to see )

Yeah, I know what you mean. Hufflepuff is happy and loving and warm, so you sort of think of the Gryffindor Common Room with its comfortable fireplace and armchairs, only with slight Hufflepuff-y variations... but not a cellar. I agree that Hufflepuffs put in a cellar would make it at least a comfortable cellar, but still... It always feels like we're getting cheated in the HP books, with our near lack of recognition, often less-valued house values, and sort of averageness. But living in a cellar? It's like the cupboard under the stairs. It just feels... insulting, I guess. And my little sister thinks I'm insane for feeling insulted that Hufflepuffs live in a cellar, but it's just really personal for me, since I am one, and... I don't like it.
Okay, to get to the part of the sight where she says it: On the Main Page click on the Key to get to "Fan Sites." Click the name "Godric's Hollow" on the medal in the middle. And she says it in the little description of the website that pops up, at the bottom.

Argh! Someone help me find the clues, please?! It's driving me crazy! I think I have clicked on every single clickable item there I even spent a short while clicking around the screen at random objects and the space between objects just to be sure
(I shall be vague for the sake of people who enjoy that sort of torture) I got the one where you click on the four different things, and the one with the circular things and boxes (am I being too subtle? : Where are the other ones? Je besoin d'aid.

If you want I can PM you instructions on how to get the other two, or maybe just clues so you can still get most of it on your own. But are you sure you don't want to figure them out by yourself?

I found another one! Finally. Did you guys check in again? It's been updated and J.K. said a really intelligent guy managed to pass through the door which has the Don't disturb sign on it. This guy, whoever he/or she is, must be really intelligent, or keen-eyed.
