Hehe, I went and checked out that site in Hermy's sig. Interesting place. One, a lot of those people have really funky avatars (;D). Two, I liked a few of their comments. This first one is regarding the room we're all obsessing over at the moment:
Hehe, I just thought that was cute. I noticed some other things too, but I realized they don't really fit in this thread. I'll post them in the other HBP thread.

I liked some of their avatars too. They've got loads of discussions going about too
Hey you're right. It is like the Room of Requirement. Interesting thought.

I was looking again at the Potter Project board, and I found something quite interesting.
This person said that in JK's website, there are many moons, which is quite true. Now what if the moons had some kind of connection with HBP? Something to signify who it is?
The moons could be nothing at all of course, as another person then pointed out. He/She said that Moons are quite important in magic.
What do you think?

Are you kidding?! Moons have to be a connection with Lupin! But where are these moons people are talking about? Are they new?--I haven't been on her site for a while because it takes so long to load. Or are they talking about the water marks on her desk? That might just be a coincidence.

There are water marks on her desk and some papers and there's a moon on her notebook too. And there's one in the Rumours thing.

Oh, but those aren't new. See, if she had added those upon revealing the whole HBP title and "it's not Harry or Voldie" thing, then I'd get suspicious. Still, it's reason to hope that it might still be Lupin. ;D
Is there anything new on her site?

Yes I know. But she knew what she was going to name the book already didn't she? She's been writing for more than a year now, regarding the 6th book, and she already had a general idea of what she was going to do.
Nope. Nothing as of yet. She shall be doing a new FAQ Poll soon though.

Yeah, I suppose. I always just thought of those as water marks, but it's possible. (I think I'm expecting less of her now that I know Mark Evans is just a coincidence. : Lupin would be a cool candidate. It would tie in the past and the Marauders and Snape.

I noticed those moons as well. There is a moon in the tea leaves, and there is also a moon under the mug, or it could be the pencil tin.
Perhaps the moon signifies some time of year?
I'm sure Nierme could find some meaning for it in tarot or astrology.

See, I just always thought those were water marks since Rowling wanted to make her desk look realistic and messy.
But I'll go along with your theory for now...

Personally I always counted them as moons, not really water marks.
The moons could signify some time in the year. At the start of every new moon maybe? Or at a particular moon?
On the same website, someone also suggested Luna since she is linked a lot to the moon.

Yeah, Rubes thought it might be some time of the year, too.
How can it be Luna? It's a good point, since it's Latin for moon, but she's a girl, too. Maybe Rowling is just saying the Luna is going to continue being an important character in the next books...that is, if the water marks are supposed to be moons.

*hits her forhead with her palm* Duh! You're right. But maybe Luna has some kind of other importance.

But the HBP is obviously not Lupin. This title was going to be for the second book remember? So this HBP has to be someone from the second book, why else would she have considered the name then?
I agree with Sphi that Luna will be important.... maybe she has a connection to Lupin?
I thought those moon marks were just acknowleging Lupin. Like how the dog barking acknowledges Sirius? Barking isn't a clue to him, because we already know he's an animagus so maybe it's the same with the moons. But there are too many of them floating around discreetly so that theory is iffy.
I guess I just don't think everything we point out is a clue to the 6th book. Since the title's been revealed people have been reading into the site waaay too much, as if now that the title is revealed, hidden secrets are realized on the site. I don't think that's so.

I thought of that too Ti, but maybe JK was going to introduce Lupin at the time. Your theory though seems quite plausible, and you got me quite convinced right now. Still Lupin is a great candidate.
You know what? This is very similar to what happened when JK hinted that someone was going to die in OOTP. Everyone was wondering who would and many were thinking of all kinds of people
