Wow...no one from America? Did I read that wrong? What an awesome contest with an awesome prize. I'm not sure I get who's eligible, though. I have a Journalism degree...if I move to Canada maybe I can try out!

I think there are no Americans because Melissa and Emerson were chosen. Melissa has put up all the things she and Emerson went through waiting 10 whole days without telling anyone that they had spoken with Jo etc. It's hilarious!
And no you wouldn't be eligible Izzy. Because it can be anyone from those countries whose age is between 8-16. I'd be eligible but I'm not from those countries.

That would be such an amazing experience. Getting a signed book, reading it with all those other fans in Edinburgh Castle, and then getting to meet and talk to JKR!

Yeah, if only I worked for some journal or newspaper. (I don't think school newspapers count. : I would totally be there. ;D

I really don't think you have to have had experience or something. The competition being held by Bloomsbury only asks you to write "I am the biggest Harry Potter fan because..." in under 50 words. Real tough, believe me. You'd have to come up with something really original.

Oh! I thought when they said "reporters," they meant people who are already reporters for some newspaper. So anyone could win it, essentially. But still, if they already have Emerson and Melissa, I don't think they're going to be choosing many more people from the US.

Woah. I'm so trying for that. ;D There's, like, no way I could ever win that, but I'm definitely trying!
Ooh, thanks for the tip, Hermy! I really like JKR's answer to the poll question this time (and I'm glad that question won too ;D). She isn't ambiguous at all, actually; heck, she even gave away something about HBP ("Harry wonders this during the course of 'Half-Blood Prince' and concludes, rightly, that the answer hinges on whether or not one of Neville's parents would have been able, or prepared, to die for their son in the way that Lily died for Harry.") I also rather like that one quote JKR says in relation to the Prophecy: "Destiny is a name often given in retrospect to choices that had dramatic consequences." ...JKR does seem like the kind to believe in choices over fate any day. ("It is our choices, Harry..." )

JK has updated her site to answer about the betting rumour that has surfaced lightly in the News section, and she has also updated the rubbish bin area.

JK has updated the site once again to present us qith a new FAQ poll. One, which might I say, has me really disappointed. All the questions are quite obvious really.

A new wizard of the month was chosen. This time it's:
"Chauncey Oldridge who lived from 1342-1379 and was the first known victim of Dragon Pox.
A rather hideous image of the suffering man can be seen at the site."

>_< I missed a puzzle thing on JKR's site!! Apparently, the room with the door was re-opened on April 1 and there was some test you could take. Darn. I guess I'll just have to read about what other people saw.
Actually, I haven't visited her site in a while. Some things on her desk have changed. So very cool. I love how she keeps giving her fans these updates, on her life, on the books, even on her opinion of the movies. ("Also met, and had a long chat, with Evanna Lynch (Luna), about whom there is only one possible thing to say: perfect.") Aww.
