So I was clicking around, looking for stuff on GoF, and I discovered this in-production film: The Wallace & Gromit Movie: Curse of the Wererabbit
It's to be released next year. Anyone else excited?! I loved the episodes... though I have to say I thought it was weird how many of the villans were mechanical or used robotic equipment *hmm*
What else is coming up?

Call me a geek. Call me old. LOL
"Transformers", being produced by Steven Speilberg of all people, due out in 2006!
This movie is supposed to be based on the original characters too (from the 80s) - not the new ones, which just makes me giddy like a kid again ;D

Transformers!! I remember watching that on TV, I didn't like it at all But I remember.
This film isn't in production, it's being filmed, but it's still not ready yet, I believe. I'm really looking forward to it, since I loved the book and you know, Japan.

*laughs* Transformers! More than meets the eye!
I can't believe they're doing a movie of that. Will it be animated like the series or somehow done with all that CGI stuff or something? I just hope they don't mess it up like Thunderbirds if that was the case- the new version was horrible!
Wallace and Gromit are doing a feature length movie? *hops*

It'll be live action with CGI. Spielberg has made it a point to be serious about things and make sure this movie's done right, so we'll see.

There are quite a few movies coming up in the next year that I'm either looking forward to (*) or curious about (?)... "Star Wars: Ep. III" (* - I truly believe it will be better than the other two prequels) "Kingdom of Heaven" (? - some discouraging news has arisen)) "War of the Worlds" (*) "The Fantastic Four" (? - concerned about the cast) "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (* - Tim Burton is perfect for this one) I tried not to list others I want to see that people have already mentioned, and I think the next HP movie goes without saying

Yeah! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! I've seen the first poster, it looks really good. I liked the first movie a lot, I never thought it was calling for a remake and I was quite against it when I first heard of it, but when I knew it was Tim Burton directing it I knew it'd be as magical as it's supposed to be. And Johnny Depp will make a fantastic Willy Wonka. He can pull that lunaire look really well *cof* Pirates *cof*

I didn't think the original called for a remake either, but I believe Tim Burton and Johnny Depp will probably take the entire story in a direction that does justice to the original but is also fresh.

Are these the same rights to Charlie that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston apparently got at the beginning of last year? I thought they were going to get Marilyn Manson to be Willy Wonka or something.

Manson? Scary thought to me I'll stick with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp!

*laughs* I reckon it'd be cool if Marilyn Manson was Willy Wonka because kids everywhere would freak out. That said, the boat ride scene in the original film when there's the worms and the chicken getting its head cut off and stuff in the background was pretty trippy.

I've never read the book to Charlie And the Charlie Factory, but it's on my list. I think reading that might help me understand Tim Burton's version of the movie. I've seen the previews, and it definitely looks a bit different than the original. Willie Wonka/Johnny Depp looks a bit...mad. They have him doing this really weird smile that's more of a grin. I'm really intrigued by it, though, and in the preview they just show one line that Johnny Depp says, and I find myself repeating it every once in a while.

it seems to me like the tim burton version of the movie will have a lot in it from the book that the original film left out.
