Oh lord. Grave of the Fireflies made me cry lakes.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 was still a good film, but I felt that it wasn't as good as the first one. I love the actor who plays Budd (who was also Mr. Blonde from Resevoir Dogs), "That woman deserves her revenge... and we deserve to die." The training scene with Pai Mei was spectacular. I felt as though... Kill Bill 2 was missing something. Perhaps the scenes in Vol. 1 were just more tight than Vol. 2. Or perhaps I'm just whining because Uma didn't chop through 88 ankles again.
I loved Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. At times I did want to kill the ingenue, but the film was mesmerizing. I don't want to ruin anything, but the scene in the house near the end of the movie made me cry.

I saw Kill Bill 2 the day it came out and it was awesome, partly, because the people in the theater seeing it were loving every bit...and laughing...like when I saw Kill Bill no one laughed and it was disappointing.
I think the first is more intense and this one is going more for humor, perhaps? I really liked the second one and it was partly a rollercoaster ride for my emotions, like at the end with the girl? Killed me (not to mention Bill) but yeah, I enjoyed the second one just as much as the first. And once again, how badly did I want a sword?

i really liked the Kill Bill volumes. I didnt think I would, i just thought it would be stupid but i did enjoy it. I liked Cottonmouth and obviously Bill. It was funny the fight with Bill. I like the bit when he just jumps on her sword with the greatest of ease. He has a well wicked white beard too. That should be sacred - i bet there are people in the world worshiping that beauty lol ! ! !

just saw 'mean girls' it was surprisingly good... i guess the story is based on a book written by a psychologist... and the screen play is written by Tina Faye (of SNL) and there are a whole lot of SNL people in it. So... yeah... even though it looks like a chick flick... alot of the guys in the audience seemed to enjoy it... it's pretty darn funny!

Hang on Dan, are you talking about Bill or Pai Mei (the old Asian fella with the white beard who makes Beatrix do that wood-punching thing)? Do you think they're going to make a sequel or anything? I mean, we don't REALLY know if Elle is dead...

I mean, we don't REALLY know if Elle is dead... oops yea. i meant Pai Mei. dont ask me y i said Bill. i don't know if there going to make a sequel, but i would like them too ;D. i felt sorry for Budd, how he turned like alcoholic - it was a real shame. that little girl was sweet tho - 'Shoot me mommy' lol.
but just one question - Was it all just a love story?

Heh, if Kill Bill is a love story, then it's not quite your conventional one now, is it?
Yeah, I kind of liked Budd. He was an asshole, but I did feel sorry for him. I mean, if he was once an assassin and then ended up getting fired from a bouncing gig at a really bad topless bar, you think that well... somewhere, things did end up going downhill for him.

I'm all for unconventional love stories Anyone seen Victor/Victoria? That may be my new favourite film ;D Julie Andrews plays a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman... oh, it's so complicated... but as you can imagine, the opportunities for dramatic irony are endless ;D

Guys, brace yourselves. I heard they're in negotiations for making a Kill Bill Vol. 3- not for a while of course, but it will be set 12 years after the events of Vols. 1 and 2, and will be about Vivica A. Fox's character's daughter seeking revenge or something. And Elle might be back, but we don't know...

Yup, Copperhead/ Vernita Green's daughter will be seeking revenge against the Bride for killing her mother in front of her eyes. Remember Uma Thurman's speech? "If you're still sore about it... I'll be waiting."
I didn't hear anything pertaining to the lovely Elle Driver, perhaps she'll be teaming up with Copperhead's daughter?

I don't know, wouldn't she be sort of... old by then? Maybe she could teach Vernita's daughter stuff, because there doesn't seem to be anyone else left to do that.

LOL, Cottonmouth/ O-Ren was only 11 years old when she got her revenge against Boss Matsumoto. Who knows? I don't know how she could teach lil' Copperhead anything since she's er... extremely handicapped.

*grins* Yeah, extremely. But that said, I'm sure that in 12 years, she could come up with ways to... let's see... overcome her handicaps?
Maybe Elle would be like, some sort of weird parental figure or something? Like how Bill was? But somehow I can't see that happening because she's so... up herself.

Right, so last night I saw Brain Dead which is a Peter Jackson (of LOTR fame! Really!!) film from 1992. About zombies and Sumatran Rat Monkeys. Seriously, if you are into B-Grade horror and really really, bad, over-the-top violence, go watch this one. And Fran Walsh also produced it too, so that was pretty cool.
Basically, it takes place in New Zealand (where else?) in like, the 1950s I think, and there's this guy Leonard, and he lives with his really overbearing mother. One day, he goes on a date with this girl to the zoo, and his mother follows them, gets bitten by the mysterious Sumatran Rat Monkey (really lame and tacky special effects/puppeteering for this... hilarious!) and yeah, then she gets zombified, and then the townspeople all get zombified, and Leonard has to save himself and (of course) the girl who becomes his love interest... But yeah, it's seriously gratuitously violent and very, very, very funny. Good to watch if you aren't in the mood for thinking. (i.e., you are brain dead... haha!)
