Alright, I'm a little inexperienced with this sort of writing, so bear with me. I'm sure all of you older folk remember MiniH's story, "Our Hogwarts," where he tried to write a story about us. That was over a year ago and of course, with us being us, we've all changed a lot. We've got a lot of new people, the houses function different ((so far as their quirks, at least)) and I thought that it might be fun to take Loz's idea and roll with it again! Comments are lovely ;D ((and be nice I haven't written something like this in pratically 5 years)) and if you've got your own suggestions for a continuation to the story, or would like to write the next part of the story, that would be even better! Just send me your plot ideas, or let me know that you want to write the next chapter, and we'll do our best to keep writing "Our" story.
Pkia awoke with an inelegant snort and looked around herself. Usually when she woke up, she found herself in her own bed, but today it looked like she fell asleep by accident in an abandoned room. Blinking hard and rubbing her eyes, she started to vaguely remember what had happened the evening before. She shuddered, remembering that she had hidden in the room to escape getting tied up and sold by Rubes, Calantha and other particularly ambitious Gryffindors. She heaved a sigh and resolved never to walk alone in the corridors again, or take food offerings from Gryffindors who were smiling too much.
She picked herself up and moved towards the door. Opening it just a crack, she checked both ways. Only seeing a few Hufflepuffs and Sandy out in the hall, she deemed it safe enough to go down to breakfast.
“Sands! Wait up…” she called, as she went to join her. “Are you going to the Great Hall?”
Sands paused and glanced at Pkia up and down, taking note of her dusty clothes and disheveled hair. “No, but I’m going that way. What happened to you? Get lost in your labrotary?”
“No. Gryffindors.”
“Ahh.” She gave a knowing nod and continued walking. “So that’s where you were all night? I was looking for you. I was hoping that you’d test out a new potion I made.” Opening her cloak, she took out a vial of orange liquid which she examined, shook, and then passed onto Pkia.
Pkia had fallen victim to Sands’ concoctions more than once before, and, preferring to not look like a smurf again, she decided to ask before tasting for once.
“So what is it for? Potions class?”
“No, just a little experiment. I don’t know what it does yet – that’s why I wanted you to taste it.”
“Er, thanks,” she responded nervously. She pocketed it to keep Sands from slipping it into someone’s food. “I think I’ll just hang on to it for now.”
Sands shrugged. “Well, I have to do some work before class. See you later.”
“But – wait! Don’t leave me –“ It was too late. Sands was in the library and Pkia was standing on her own in the corridor. She tried to reassure herself by remembering that it wasn’t that much farther to the Great Hall and that the Gryffindors weren’t usually late for meals, but strange noises seemed to be coming from all around her. It sounded like… like… birds? Yes, like chanting birds and a weird language. She started walking quickly down the corridor and was watching behind herself when she turned a corner and suddenly smacked straight into Nialle.
“What the –What on earth are you up to?” She was taken aback by the group. Nialle, Robin, KoNeko and Lireal were all dressed in elaborate costumes and there were feathers everywhere. She was surprised to see them dressed like that, but they looked even more surprised at her.
“I thought you said that the igglepopnock was all taken care of in the snoddle whipwhack!” Lirael said to the others in a panic.
“Gopher wood!” shouted Robin, seemingly out of nowhere to Pkia, but the others apparently understood it. The group looked around to one another, trying to decide what to do until KoNeko finally spoke up.
“Uh… ‘morning Pkia. How are you?”
“I’m doing well enough.” She had to force herself to stop staring at them. “Do I even want to know what you’re up to?”
“Probably not.”
She didn’t have the energy. “I’ll just keep walking then.”
“Good choice,” said Nialle before letting out a big “bawk,” flapping imaginary wings, and then leading the group down the hall. Pkia could only shake her head and continue walking. All she wanted to do right now was sit down in the Great Hall, take a sip of an orange juice and have confidence that she wasn’t going to turn the corner and get ---
“WATCH OUT!” Shouted a Slytherin, too late to stop the block of cheese from hitting her head.
--- And get that
You see, that was the trouble with hallways. There were people in them.
