You can hear the commotion from across the grounds. Is that the ringing of metal on metal? What's all the shouting? You hurry closer, afraid your fellow students have come to blows...
Six people in bright clothes are playing curiously old-fashioned drums, guitars and flutes. Several pairs of students are laughing as they master the complex steps of a medieval court dance. Yes, there are a couple of people heaving broadswords at each other and wearing full mail, but the swords are dulled and you can tell they're having more fun putting on shows of agility and strength than hitting each other. The crowds, in regalia dating anywhere from 1100 to 1500, are a sumptuous sea of reds, golds, greens, tartans, blues, whites, and embroidery. Some enterprising sorts have set up little stalls and are selling handkerchiefs, leatherwork and jewelry.
You have arrived at the Hogwarts Renaissance Festival. And here's your host, in doublet and hose and carrying a sheaf of verses.... ;D

*enters the scene in regal step, decked as a renaissance princess. A diminutive figure follows close behind her, playing a merry tune on a flute. Closer inspection reveals the character dressed in minstrel's clothes is Pocket Voldemort. Leia sweeps a gracious curtsy*
I bid you all good day, loyal subjects. It is I, Princess Leia. *tries not to dissolve into giggles*
Er...continue on with your business! Yes...*to Pocket V* Play louder! Eurgh, purple and fawn just are NOT my colours.

Most gracious lady, we are honoured by your presence at our modest fete. May we tempt you with sweetbreads? Laces? Entertainments? ;D

*walks up to leia and en carrying a small harp, about two feet tall. she was wearing a long flowred peasant skirt, a white ruffled linen blouse, and a violet corset with bells. dora gave her bells a shake* I'm here with bells on! Finally, a Renaissance Festival! How farest thee, well I hope? *plucked at the harp*

*trips into the festival in full mail, falls over and lies immobilised on the ground*
Urgh. This stuff is too heavy for my liking! Some help please...
*realises she's still on the outskirts of the festival and would never get heard above the din from the swords. She frowns, and, having her arms too heavy to reach her wand, she wriggles her nose and her armour disappears. KoNeko stands up, her helm still on but slightly skewed. She is wearing a faux-leather jerkin, boots and bracers and has a coarse dark green cloak around her shoulders. She idly fiddles with the sword at her side and strolls into the clearing, whistling loudly and hoping nobody notices the pile of armour that she managed to stash in a bush on the way. *

*warmly* Ah, a harper! And what ballads dost thou know, fellow bard?
*spots Koko who appears to be wearing a helm and sword but no armour* Good Sir KoNeko! Has the war made thee tire of linked mail and iron plates? Or wast thou hindered and heckled by thieving bowtruckles on thy way? ;D

If thou canst sing, I can play it. I sing, as well.*plays a chord and gigles at the sight of KoNeko* Is thou having difficulties, Sir Knight?

*Upon hearing the sound of a harp playing, Moira smiles eagerly and walks in, looking around at all the hussle and bussle of the festivity. Her curly hair is drawn up atop her head with tendrils flowing down about her face and neck. She is adorned in a typical renassaince outfit.
Walking distractedly among the place, she obliviously stepped the hem of her stress, stumbled a few steps, and tore some of the material. Looking up embarrassedly to see if anyone noticed, she shrinks away to a nearby bush to conceil herself and try to find a way to mend her dress. Much to her dismay, she stumbles upon a heap of metal armor, and completely sprawls out among the ground, bumping into some nearby duelers.
Already some havoc has ensued.*

*catches a glimpse of Moira ripping her dress and hiding in a bush. she starts to play and sing*
Oh once was a girl Whose name Moira was Who ripped her dress And all because
The dress was too long. And caused her much woe Hey nonny nonny Hey nonny no!
Hide she did behind a bush To try and mend her dress But stumbled upon Ko's armour And landed herself in a mess.
The dress was too long And caused her much woe Hey nonny nonny Hey nonny no!

*laughs* Dora, thou playest thy harp akin to the angels! *applauds*
*turns to En and adjusts her helm* Actually, fair bard, I am but a simple (ooc: hahahaha! bic: ) maiden, sent off to battle with the men of this nation in the place of my brother, but as I tired of the blood and stench of unclean men (), I sought my leave in the hopes of returning to my home.
And no, kind bard, it was not war that made me tire of my iron plates, but rather, my weak body! Although *nods head in Moira's direction* I believe that now there is another that has discovered the misfortunes of ringed mail, or do my eyes and ears deceive me?

*to En* No, gracious *to Dora* Ah, gentle minstrel, thou serenad'st all company assembled here with such sweet tunes that I am wont to dismiss my own minstrel! He does not sing for me, in sad sooth. *to Pocket V* Go, dog! Vile toad, you call that harsh meoldy music? Get thee to a nunnery! ((heh))*glaring at Leia and mumbling* I'll get thee to a nunnery, Princess! Hmm? Didst thou speak, mediocre minstrel?*suddenly smirking* What? Ah, no, no, of course not, noble lady. I will do as you say. Adieu. *quietly slips away**looks around* Good friends, I feel a sudden urge to spectate a jousting match. At what hour will the next commence?
((Renaissance talk makes Leia giggle. *giggle*))

I thankest the both of you! A jousting match! I would not be content with simply watching, for jousting is a favourite sport of mine. Fencing, though, is my passion. *eyes some of the vendors selling scarfs and looks at a deep purple one with longing, but turns back to En, Leia, and KoNeko* Think you that our friend who hast stumbled upon the armour might be in need help?

*with cheeks blushing a deep scarlet hue, Moira takes care to slide away from the armor before attempting to get up.
Taking care not to step on her dress again, she walks toward the others, trying hard not to show her embarrassment.*
"Forgive me for the scene you have witnessed. I am afraid my clumsiness makes quite a fool of me. However, I found your music to be quite enchanting, minstrel. It carries a style I've not heard before."
*looks over at Princess Leia and courtsies*
"My lady, it is a pleasure to meet you here."
