ooc: Oh, sorry, that was rude of me... I said "Madam, are you there?" and then I said "My friend would like to talk -- she likes horses, you know." I'll subtitle from now on.
*A bit of silk flutters aside in the doorway, and a tiny woman emerges. Her skin and hair are very dark, almost Arabic; her eyes are very large and liquid. She cracks a smile*MME E: Mon dieu! Elaine! *looks En up and down* Ou bien Monsieur Sylvan... vous l'avez expliquer, je sais, mais c'est... un peu extraordinaire de le voir. *laughs* My god! Elaine! Or Mr. Sylvan... you explained it, I know, but it's a little strange to see it.EN: *chuckling* Mais vous, Madame; le temps ne vous a point touche.
But you, Madam; time has not marked you at all.
Alors. This is my friend, the Lady Fanta. My lady, the famous Madame Eohippe, a legend in her time.

*smiles and curtsies * ;D* Pleased to meet you, Madame. I have heard, from my dear friend Nialle, that you are a fantastic show rider. I would be honored to see you perform, Madame. *nods toward En*

*wanders after Fan and En*
My must humble apologies, O Lady Fanta and Sir Bard! I was... delayed, after I spied some thieving knaves trying to pilfer my mail... (It was in the bushes, remember )
*half-bobs at Madame Eohippe in greeting*

Gracious! Didst thou apprehend the foul scum?
Madame, the good knight KoNeko. Sir Knight, Madame Eohippe.
MME E: My greetings to you, dear lady and sir chevalier. Does the lady ride? and does the knight keep a steed?

*smiles graceously* I do ride, and as often as I can, for I have a great love of all equines.

Alas, O Bard, I failed in my vailant duty to apprehend the thieves, as my hose was falling down... and there they are, making merry with my mail on yonder hill! *points*
*bows to Mme E* Gentle lady, I have left my trusted steed back in the crusades, for it hath borne me to no greater fortunes than the stench of unwashed men, and as such I grew weary of my sojourns in such sad places, but woe betide me, for my steed preferest the stench of my brothers to I...

*squints and murmurs to Ko out of the side of hir mouth* Draws that man a yellow and smiling visage on thy armour, good Knight? It seems a strange device. MME E: Why then, Lady Fanta, you may meet my little band; for we are rovers together, but they love a fair maiden's company. *whistles a strange, shrill whistle; and four horses come at a canter, though you might have sworn there were none in the paddock a moment ago. One horse is a russet-red mare with a friendly curiosity; one is a grey and tall beast with a strange air, as though she understood human speech; one is coal-black with a white star on her nose, and she stays well back from the watching humans at the fence, shod but not broken to saddle; one is a quiet dappled white, a giantess of a horse, powerfully built but deeply shy* *Mme E. rests a hand on the red horse's back* This is Aurore, the good friend. Come, Aurore. See? She will let you touch her.

*steps forward and offers up her hand. she waits for the horse to accept her scent before patting her neck and stroking her mane. marvels at the horse's deeply intelligent eyes* She's gorgeous, Madam. *her eyes shine and she makes a mental note to thank en for mentioning the visit to her earlier*

EN: *is studying the black horse in fascination* Madame... I don't remember meeting your dark friend before.
MME E: *glancing at the black horse as well* That is Dolore, and she is... a little shy, no?
EN: *noticing Mme's strange tone* Shy? She seems not so much shy as wary, Madame.
MME E: *under her breath, just loudly enough for the visitors to hear* Her story is not one for telling here. Later, perhaps. Elaine... euh... Monsieur Sylvan, do not look on her too long. *taking a breath* Here, here is an old friend of yours. *to the grey horse* Estelle, tu souviens ton amie... ou bien ton ami, peut-etre?
Estelle, you remember your (female) friend... or perhaps (male) friend?
*The grey horse approaches the paddock fencing and turns its head a little, eyeing En*
EN: *offering a hand to her* Tiens, mon chou, je n'ai point des nouvelles, mais j'ai toujours des petits vignettes je peux raconter. *winks*
Hey, my sweet, I have absolutely no news, but I always have little scenes I can retell.

MME E: Oh, you will make such a friend, I will need a new leader for my band Yes, yes, give her the sugar. You would like to ride, no? This we can arrange.... EN: *glances over* You still keep the blankets in the side cupboard?MME E: Oui, oui. I shall ride Amitiee. *glances at Koko* Or you may, if you wish, good Knight. *to Tasia* Would the lady like to borrow a riding habit? This dress is too fine for sport.

*shakes her head happily* Nay, my good lady, i must politely decline, for these clothes suit me well, no matter the sport. *extends her hand and Aurore lips up the sugar* Madam, would you grace us with your great riding skills, as have been rumored?

EN: *pauses, ready to fetch the tack*
MME E: *looks over at Dolore briefly, then back at the three by the fence* Amitiee is a good, strong mare, but if you wish to see a bit of the routine, perhaps you will not mind if I demonstrate with Estelle? *glances at En*
EN: Not at all. You'll go bareback now?
MME E: *nods*
EN: *gesturing broadly and suppressing a smirk* The world is thine, Madame. I shall fetch thy tack and curry thy steed, for I am but thy page.
MME E: *snorts, but moves toward a gate a few paces back toward the pavilion, following En, who seems to be eyeing the ground just outside the pavilion*

*smiles and calls out to Mme* Can I help you, Madame? ooc: for one of my birthdays, I went to Arabian Nights, it was a hose trick riding dinner show, i loved it...they had people from different cultures representing how they ride, gypsies standing on percheron's backs, england rinding with flags and twirling them, old american west riders with lasso tricks. but by far the best was a Native American reigning bareback. I was always best at riding bareback, I even used to ride my horse without so much as a halter, but this was amazing. No bridel, no saddle, only a thin blanket. the horse would gallop across the arena and stop on a dime. literally. ;D i loved it.
