ooc: Ha...that reminds me of a mean joke my friends used to play on me when I got to rambling about my long-winded nonsense theories...whenever I'd be in the middle of saying something terribly important they'd say "Wait! Do you hear that? *pause* That's the sound of nobody caring! Er...sorry about that.
bic: *pauses, listening, then shrugs* Nothing, I suppose, but I fancied I heard bells ringing in the distance...

MME E: Bells? *glances at En* Does your school have a bell tower? EN: The bells ring when classes begin and end, but today is a holiday. *to Tasia* Milady, what manner of ringing was it? For there are bells such as these *tosses head* -- and bells of alarum -- and musical bells -- and bells in a shop's door -- and faery bells -- which sort of bells did you hear?
ooc: *violently fights impulse to quote a Poe poem*
Man, that's cruel... I'd cry if someone said that to me But then, they probably would say it to me if they knew the phrase. I do ramble even more in real life than I do on TD. Scary, isn't it?

ooc: Yeah, it does... I mean, I just think verbally, right? So sometimes it takes me a bit to get to my point, but I get there... but then people think the point is so weird, they don't get it Meh. But cheers to fellow ramblers! Yay! ;D
EN: *coming back through the gate to fetch the heavy, bronze-tooled saddle for Estelle, En pauses to murmur to Tasia* Shouldst thou hear the bells again, note thou the direction of the sound; for if it is from the school, we have nothing to fear but mischief, but if it is from the wood... *trails off before Mme E can notice En is speaking to Tasia and hurries back into the paddock with the saddle*

ooc: oh, but that's the whole great part! knowing or reading that someone cares enough about you to tell you everything is great. Or, a rambler's words will indicate that they care very much about what they're talking about...which means it'll be very interesting to listen to, provided they don't have a monotonous voice, in which case it's all for naught. But knowing they care is always a nice thing.
bic: *nods curtly and returns to getting the last snag out of Aurore's tail. turns to Madame E* May I go get her saddle, milady?

See, I agree with you 100%. I would much rather talk to someone who can see lots of angles, add lots of information, tell a good story... but ditto wanting them to be expressive about it. Personally, I definitely have a severe case of automonotonophobia. (That's not a word, probably, but it means 'fear of being monotonous.') So I make sure to use lots of Muppet noises and funny voices as well as the usual expressive intonations ;DMME E: Of course, my lady. There is a door in the side of my caravan, between the wheels on the right. You will find a saddle for Aurore there; it is trimmed in gold. -- Make sure you bring that one, not the one with silver.

ooc: cracking up, yet again thanks to En's sense of humor. ;D I love muppets! lol, i'm so wishing for a recording right now....neye-eh. oh, while I'm out of character, Rain just told me she's been accepted into Ravenclaw! she's quite overjoyed. ;D
bic: *nods and smiles, dissappearing for a moment into the tack room, returning with a beautiful, gold trimmed saddle. clears Aurore's gorgeous mane carefully out of the way and places the saddle slowly on her back. ties the girth on loosely, then walks the horse around a bit, giving her a piece of sugar* My horse was so clever, whenever I tightened her girth, she would puff out and make her stomache big. I had to walk her around and bribe her with sweets before she would deflate. *regains her character a bit, tightening Aurore's girth, smiling*

EN: *laughs* Aurore has been known to attempt such clever ploys; beware! *reaches for the bronze bridle on the fencepost and slips it gently over Estelle's face and ears -- but there is no bit on this bridle, just traces that crisscross her face more like a mask than a piece of tack*
MME E: *swings up onto Amitiee's back and walks her toward Aurore and Estelle, then waits*

*smiles, tightens her girth again. swings up onto the horse's back, seating herself comfortably and letting Aurore walk around in slow circles. calls down to En* Come, my Touchstone. ;D

A walk. Amitiee? *clicks tongue gently* AMITIEE: *starts forward comfortably* ESTELLE: *gets impatient in about three steps and starts showing off, picking up her feet and prancing a bit* EN: *to Estelle, mock-sternly* My lady, your spirit is much to be admired, but my seat is not. *grins innocently* Touchstone is the name of a fool, a jester, so to speak. And a wise one at that, my dear. *lets her hips sway back and forth to the rhythme of Aurore's walk* I thank you, Madame. for providing me wth such an admirable ride.

EN: *winks at Tasia and whispers* At least you didn't call me Feste.
MME E: *watching En and Tasia* Excellent, most excellent. You are a fine rider, my Lady Fanta. *to En, with a small smile* You still look ridiculous on a horse, but Estelle, lord help her, does not seem to mind.
EN: *drily, with a small bow* I survive on the generosity of gentle women.
MME E: Perhaps we shall try a trot, yes? Lady Fanta, are you prepared?
