You've got sun? Its been constantly raining here all morning and since I got home last night. Bleh - don't mind rain if it is pooring down, but at the moment it is just drizzling, once again bleh.
I haven't seen any soccer at all - in fact I only just discovered that Brazil had lost.
And I'm sleepy

Yeah, Portugal won against England! What an amazing match! I'm not so confident about tonight's match against French, though. I don't like the French team's general attitude, and over in France Portuguese immigrants have already been attacked. But, somehow, there's still hope we'll beat them, although history speaks for itself.
About Italy not deserving to win against Australia. Agree. It didn't deserve to win against the USA either. But have you seen last night's match? I'm not an Italy supporter, I'm an Inzaghi supporter, and since he hasn't been playing I couldn't care less, and last night's game was being so so boring. Germany wasn't playing well at all, it didn't look like Germany. But then Grosso scored at the final minute. And it was just amazing. They were fighting so much not to go to penalties that they won. And when Grosso scored that goal, it was like a shock of electricity went through the team, and when Del Piero scored the other one seconds after I was just perplex. There were few occasions when I saw the Italian team energic like that - they're always so boring. And if they keep those electric spirits to the final it's gonna be hard to beat them (this of course if it's Portugal to play against them, if not, let Italy win).
And let Inzaghi play too! Why isn't he playing?!

If I might intrude...I heard the word football
Personally I felt yesterday's game was well-played. Yes I guess Germany have played better matches but considering Italy's performance in some of the past matches, I really enjoyed their play. The Italians however had two chances in the extra time for sure and they missed. The Germans had their chances too, but of course, long live Buffon.
I second you on Inzaghi Rita. Lippi hates him too much and that guy is purely one of the most awesome players! Geez! I hope he plays in the final! He better! This is probably his last time in the World Cup. And with him getting injured so awesome, it doesn't really help.
As regards Italy's match with Australia - yes you're right; that penalty at the end wasn't exactly, fair. I only watched from like the 85th minute because a stupid meeting prevented me from rushing to the hotel to watch the freakin' game. But I do agree with you on that. On the other hand, France's performance in past games wasn't exactly good either. They like only barely managed to get through to the next round at times, so I admit, their winning against Brazil was nothing short of amazing(I was on the plane right then so I couldn't watch the game but apparently Brazil weren't really playing well).
I remember when France won against Spain. The Belgians wracked havoc, literally. Then you see some crazy guy running round with a Brazilian flag and the French supporters running after him. Tis crazy I tell you. Hehe yeah, we Europeans take football VERY seriously.
So for next Sunday I say Go go Italy!! Erm, yeah, in case you hadn't noticed, I support Italy. Personally for tonight, with all due respect to you Rita, I'm supporting the French 1) because I've spent a whole year fighting for the French's rights in the damn Assembly 2) For Zidane's sake, because in the match against Brazil that guy truly showed that age doesn't restrict your performance on the playing field(something which I'm afraid Beckham never understood). However, may the best win as the match starts iiiiinnnn....1:24hrs
Now I shall shut up.

anyone pumped up for sunday? I'm actually looking forward more to saturday than sunday...
In other news, I got my IB results today. And I passed and I was actually (and strangely) one of the highest scorers... I did fail arts though. I got a friggin' 2 in arts. And that's not fair, I worked my ass off in that stupid subject. Ah well. C'est la vie, I guess. But I can get college credit for 2 or 3 or 4 subjects, I'm not even sure. But that's cool.
In other completely random news, I'm cleaning my room. And that's creepy. I keep finding all this crazy stuff. Like a box of chocolates I was selling in 2003. Now THAT's what I call creepy.

Congrats on your IB results Nancy - does the college credit mean you can do less subjects, or do more advance subjects earlier? I remember cleaning my room after my final exams.... unfortunately i didn't find chocolate. I just found stuff. Bleh - have to go back to uni in a week , YAY for enroling in tutes

I can do less subjects... none of the ones I got credit for are continuing subjects, like say, Maths. I have a friend who took HL Maths and he got a seven and he's getting credit for Maths I, Maths II and Probability.... so he gets to take Maths III this semester. Which is just crazy.
Yeah, but the chocolate was old and eating it wouldn't have been a good idea.
I have to go to uni for the first time in.... 3 weeks. Oh goodness. This is the end of the holidays.

sssssssssssssshh - don't say things about end of holidays - I only got a week left Well I'm sort of looking forward to going back - BUT I have all these things planned, and a week to do them in. We don't really get credit here for highschool subjects - the only thing I can think of is if I did a advance maths degree (which you can only do if you did the highest level of maths) I would have skipped 3 subjects this year and gone on to second year subjects - but since I'm already doing two degrees I decided against it. I sometimes regret it cause the maths subjects I could have skipped are boring as hell, but meh. But if you done some extra courses or have work experience it is possible to skip some subjects. anyhoo..../

Hermy, and do you know if that's the only reason why Inzaghi isn't playing? I was watching the final to see if Lippi changed his mind, but he didn't. I'm so incredibly mad.

Campioni del Mondo...Campioni del Mondo!
Um, right, sorry about that...Inzaghi, well yes I believe that is one of the prime reasons. However there were other players, like Nesta whom he didn't play as often as say, Cannavaro and the like, and Lippi gets on well with Nesta for all I know. However, unlike Trapattoni, Lippi believes a lot in fresh new talent as can be seen through Grosso, Toni and Gilardino (and I believe Inzaghi and Nesta will not be playing much anymore in the National team). Furthermore, ever since Milan F.C. won the Champions League 3 years ago, Inzaghi has been continuously getting injured, and I believe he recovered only a couple of months ago from his last injury.
I want to know what the heck was up with Zidane hitting Materazzi in the chest like that!!! It is a real pity to see one of the world's greatest players leave the football world in such a disgraceful manner.

I wanted Germany to win... gah, quite late to say this though, isn't it? So I went to Uni today and I got 18 hours college credit, so that's pretty cool. It's only three courses though... bleh, still, 18 hours is quite alright. I'd have liked more, but whatever. Most of my friends got six. Er... I don't really have much to say these days. I wanted to go to this gig friday and I'm not going. Also, the strokes are coming and I've yet to convince my parents.

Good lucky with convincing your parentcs nance - I had issues where they had 2 18+ gigs I really wanted to go to (Something for Kate, and the grates) - but i wasn't quite 18 yet. My parents are cool in that regard - they will let me go out to anything, as long as I got friends there (and I pay for myself). The strokes are good
I was completely indifferent to the football
Uni is merely slightly bleh. Once I get past all the introductions and start doing work it should be get better. Damn 8.30 starts

Man, this board's sad... no posts since July.
Yah, so I ended up not going to the strokes. most of my friends did, and it was terrible that I didn't. But meh, whatever. I suppose I'll see them at some point.
Uni is.. weird. What else could I say? I might get credit for another course, but I don't know yet. Mathematics class sucks, it's so easy. Maths I = terribly boring. Most other courses are alright I guess.
8.30 starts = not so bad. My friend starts at 7 every day.

I like my schedule this year, but at the same time I don't. My earliest class is at 9:30am so it's not that early. I have my schedule packed on Tues. and Thursdays. I have a thirty min. lunch break and then it's more class. On Mon. and Fri. I don't have class until 3:30pm so I get to sleep in. Then I have all of Friday free. It's great. But yeah, I'm pretty much exhausted at the end of Tues. and Thursdays.
So Bill Clinton gave a lectured downtown yesterday. I wanted to go, but student tickets sold out in half an hour Friday morning. Incidentally, while the tickets sold out I was sleeping. I actually hold respect for Clinton. It's a mystery to me. My roommate thinks he's the devil. But that might be because she's religious and I'm blah.

I have a lot of respect for him, too. He was really very good at managing multiple group interests without beating up on small business or individuals; he would never have allowed all the violations of personal rights that the current dodo has; he was strong on foreign policy, all right about the environment, and pretty decent on economics, plus he was an eloquent speaker. I'd take him back in a heartbeat, regardless of what he does when he thinks nobody's looking. It would beat what we currently have all to heck.

At the end of the day what he does when no-one else is looking is his own business and so long as it doesn't affect the way he's running the nation it should stay his own business.
It's presidents like Clinton that make me wish there wasn't a limit of two terms for presidents to serve.
