What kind of movies freak you out? Is it the evil talking dolls, the oldie-but-goodie slasher flicks, or something else?
I watched Ring a few days ago. It's a japanese film about a video, and if you watch this video (which was freaky in and of itself) you'd die in one week. And yeah, not just that, but if you take a photo of yourself, your face comes out all warped. Your TV turns on by itself when your time is up and there's this woman with long hair all over her face, and she crawls out of a well and kills you and stuff, not giving anything away there but yeah. It's freaky. Couldn't look at a TV the same way after that.
So... what creeps you out at the movies?

Gee, thanx Koko. I didn't even see the movie and now I'm freaked out.
Well slasher flicks don't freak me out usually, but are fun to watch. Anyone see Event Horizon? that was freaky. It's the first movie I actually closed my eyes through parts.Probably because it was really gruesome stuff though.
And I saw Arachnid(sp?) a few years ago... that just inhanced my fear of spiders and bugs...
Gee... I can think of loads more. But I won't continue it all in one post...

I don't think my fear of spiders (though I lived through the ones in Spider-man) or bugs could be induced by anything, but I still definatly won't see that movie. Hmmm. What creeped me out...? ...You know the scariest movie I've ever seen has to be Sleepy Hollow, but that didn't scare me in the least, so, that speaks for itself ;D

Gee, you haven't seen a lot of scary movies then huh? (( Spiderman spiders weren't scary in the least ))...
And Sleepy Hollow was too easy to even classify as "scary" in my head.
A fun one is "The Abdominable Dr. Phibes" or was it called "Dr. Phibes"? I dunno. Check it out. It wasn't even scary, but it was really good. (( Vincent Price movie))

Vincent Price is one of most scary-looking guys in the world. He just looks like a bad guy. So does Jack Nicholson. He just really freaks me out. I thought "What Lies Beneath" was scary. Well, not so much scary as it was suspensful...but when I first saw it in the theatre, I did jump (and scream) a few times. ;D

*grins* Sorry Aphro. But it was the freakiest movie I've seen in a long time. Blair Witch didn't freak me out until I read the book that went along with it. It had excerpts from Heather's diary and pictures of the Blair Witch (before she was a witch) and transcripts with interviews with the people's families and stuff.
Aphro, did you mean Arachnophobia? It was a movie in the 80s or early 90s.

I get scared very easily, especially when it comes to watching movies. My mind just goes a bit wacky and I usually put too much emphasis on minor details. Here, let me give you some examples: House on Haunted Hills - Personally, I found this movie very boring. However, one scene really got to me - the scene where the reporter was looking through her camera and saw the ghost doctor operation on someone. Don't ask why, but mentally I'm unable to cope with such scenes Resident Evil - Now this movie was a crackup, BUT I just can't get my mind off it. I just don't like the idea of flesh eating corpse... Jeepers Creepers - Now that was just disturbing...the ending that is. Err...that's all I could remember. *note* I did not willing watch these films. If given a choice, I wouldn't dare watch them in the first place because I'm anti-horror/thriller genres. Lets just say I have an evil bestfriend who enjoys torturing me.

OMG!! Lilg, that was by far the SCARIEST scene in the whole movie!! Especially when she kept looking up and nobody was there, and then she looked into the camera and they were all looking at her!! And then when she gets sucked into the wall... *shudders*
But Jeepers Creepers was weird. I don't think I was freaked out because I didn't get it. Oh, but the room with all the dead people on the walls and the roof was kinda freaky!
I'm like that too, Lilg. I watch a freaky movie and I totally go nuts and I get excessively scared. Like I watched Ring and couldn't look at a TV, much less be in a room alone with one (esp. at night) in case a woman crawled out of the TV and tried to kill me. Oh, and in Poltergeist 3 when the evil people in the parallel dimension live in your reflection, I couldn't look into a mirror or other reflective surface in case my reflection did something and tried to kill me, you know, stuff like that.
I haven't even watched "The Wedding Singer" because Billy Idol scared me.

Yes! Yes! Yes! That's the scene!! I was so freaked out over it, and for a couple of nights I was filled with such paranoia it was disturbing...needless to say, I refused to ever watch that scene again. 15 minutes into Jeepers Creepers, I begged my friend to let me leave. For some reason I can't fathom, I found the scene where he dumps the body into the drain pipe very disturbing and I just didn't wanted to see anymore. After I watched The Sixth Sense, I began imagining seeing dead people walking around. Yes, that was how scared and paranoid I was. Conclusion: This is why I rarely watch scary movies. Why do you keep torturing yourself like this Kono? Seems to me you willingly watch these sort of things...

YEAH! Lilg, 6th sense scared me too... you know the bit when he's in the tent thingy and then the lights go out and there's a hole in the tent because he didn't peg it properly and then when he looks there's that girl and she's like... barfing or something. Ew.
Lilg, I actually found Jeepers Creepers rather amusing. Not because of the plot, but because it was just so... crap. I mean, you know the bit when they're running over the guy/demon thingy and his wings pop out and he's all squished on the road?
I think that I subconsciously want to watch scary movies so that if I watch enough, I won't be scared anymore. Of course, that doesn't really work, although I DO look back now and I can't fully grasp why exactly I was scared the first time round.

Oh, I forgot about the movies I've seen recently that scared me.
The Mothman prophicies - this was a very scary movie and I loved it
Dragonfly - its up there for scary. I loved this one too.
Poltergeigst - Cool movie.
The 6th Sense - scared me less than the others but still...
I love scary movies, so these didn't scare me that much. Anyway, there's my top 4 scary movies that I've seen.

*jumps up and down* This is hilarious, in Sixth Sense, I actuallyy screamed aloud when he saw the girl vomiting and it gave my mum such a fright...that was the most freakiest scene in the whole movie.
Lol @ Kono, I know what you mean about that particular scene in Jeepers Creepers. It was my bestfriend favourite part in the whole movie, she cracked up so badly that people began staring at us. It was hilarious when the wings started flap about, only to slowly drop back down to the ground!!
Once I've watched a scary movie, I try not to think back about it especially if its related to supernature things eg. ghosts, devils, curses...etc... I also can't handle movies without proper endings (one reason why I didn't enjoy Jeepers Creepers).

*sighs* You guys are talking about the new House on Haunted Hill. I didn't mind any of it. The only part that disturbed me was in the beginning when those pencils went through the neck of the guy and *you know, it starts out all quiet and then that fight breaks out and all*?
It wasn't that good though for me. The old one was way kewl though.Yup and Vincent Price was in it too. He played the part that Geoffrey Rush played in the newer version.
Oooh... movies without proper endings are usually more freaky.

I love those old Dr. Phibes movies--I think there are two--they are so camp. The scariest movie--hands down--is the original Candyman. I still shriek when my kids say the word 3 times...
