;D ;D ;D
They're my favourites of all favourites. They're music kinda changed me and the way I thought of things and the way I felt things and.. they just changed me. And they're like Brian says:
"If Placebo was a drug, they would no doubt be pure heroin - dangerous, mysterious and tottaly addictive"[/color]

Placebo? Hmm...never heard of them. I'll check them out though. What type of music do they sing?

Placebo are a rock-type band (I'm sure Leni can fill you in on the specifics) and I guess their most well-known song of recent times would be "The Bitter End". It got quite a bit of airplay here if you want to check it out.
Right now I'm really into Coldplay, but I guess that my favourite band of all times is probably the Beatles, in recent times the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and then besides that it does change over time and according to my mood.

Oh, thanks Neko. Well I'm not into rock much to tell you the truth.
It not that I have that favourite singer or band specifically, if htere's a song I like then I listen to it, also according to the mood I'm in.

Oh man... of course you all know what I think about Josh Ritter, but I have to say that there are a few singers/bands that really stand out for me as all-time genius:
Joni Mitchell Cat Stevens Simon & Garfunkel Crosby+Stills+Nash+Young (and various combinations thereof, but not Nash solo) U2
All right, I'm going to have to try Coldplay... I heard part of one of theirs on the radio (don't even know which one) and loved the sound, so here goes

Yeah, Neko, you said quite the essential, really. They're a "rock" band and if you start reading that they're "glam rock", they're not. It's what Brian says:
"just because we were in a glam rock movie it doesn't mean we're glam rock; kevin spacey played a serial killer and he isn't a serial killer" ;D
Brian Molko, Stefan Oldsal, Steve Hewitt.
"The Bitter End" was the first single taken out of their latest album, "Sleeping With Ghosts. The other two are "This Picture" and the masterpiece "Special Needs". There's a new one that'll be out in February, which is "English Summer Rain" ((along with a live DVD *falls over*)) Try "The Bitter End". You'll probably like it.
The songs everyone likes are "Special K" and "Pure Morning". So you might check those two as well. I don't like the first one, I've grown quite sick of it. It's just *so* commercial. If you like this three, come back to me. If you don't, don't.

Okay, so everyone knows Smashing Pumpkins is my absolutely favourite band of all time. I also really like Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, Coldplay, and Bob Dylan.
Oh, man, Cat Stevens! I remember stealing his greatest hits tape from my mom when I was little and rocking out to it on my Walkman. Good times. I bought that on CD a while ago and I listen to it all the time. He's amazing. "Oh Very Young" and "The Wind" are my favourites, though.
Hey, En, if you want me to I'd be happy to burn you some Coldplay. Gotta spread the love.

Haha, Gabs, I thought of you when I read this on the back of an Ed Hammel cd:
"unauthorised duplication, while sometimes necessary, is never as good as the real thing."
Is that not the classiest way that's ever been said? But I definitely still fall in the sometimes-necessary department Lemme see how thin I can spread my holiday gift money, but if that doesn't work I'll definitely take you up on that, thanks
Who is Nick Drake? My brother was all on about him the other night, so I got him Five Leaves Left, but I'd never even heard of the guy...?
I can't believe I forgot to put Tori on my list.

My favourite band is Carbon Leaf. They played at a local college and later during the same year played at the DC 101 Chilli Cook-off and I fell in love with them. The summer before last I attempted to go to every concert in Virginia and North Carolina, but I missed a few. So this year I hope to make up for those few. *points to line under avatar* Blue Ridge Laughing is one of their songs. And it's really cool because they're all from the area where I was born so when they talk about the Blue Ridge and like, certain areas, I totally know where they're talking about! But my favourite of theirs is either American Tale or On Any Given Day and my favourite cover is Amazing Grace (which I think is a beautiful song anyway) and Whiskey in the Jar. *could go on but decides to stop*

I like...well to tell you the truth I like almost everything and anything you can put on the radio or CD player or whatever else. Rap isn't my top choice but I have no problem listening to it.
My favourite groups, though, are Fleetwood Mac, Garbage, Evanescence, t.A.T.u., and I like Westlife too.
Singers...Mandy Moore, Clay Aiken, Vanessa Carlton, and recently my dad played a CD by this girl Joss Stone and I loved it. So...okay I'm done ^.^

Rhi- About 4 years ago Westlife were in Melbourne and I met Mark and Kian and that Shane guy? (He's really short ). Yeah, they were nice.
I've also got a couple of bands that I sort of like but they aren't my favourites, like the Foo Fighters and The Living End and Coldplay and stuff. I don't know, I like a certain type of music so it's hard to limit it to just a band or two.

To me, rap is one of those genres you have to be choosy with. There's a lot of stuff out there that is all "bitches and hos", but then there's also artists like Andre 3000 from Outkast and Mike Skinner of the Streets. There's good rap out there, you just have to work a little harder to find it.
