Check out these answers by your Hogwarts peers from ages and ages ago: ;DPosted by Sopwith on 7 Dec 2001 at 7:48pm 8-)I'm like Diggory for the morals and loyalty. Harry for bravery. And finally Wood for looks. Posted by NialleSylvan on 7 Dec 2001 at 7:52pm^^^^^ And Lockheart for modesty? ;D Posted by Leia Skye on 7 Dec 2001 at 8:02pm[glow=pink,2,300]i know she's not in the books much, but i think i'm most like fleur delaceur (sp?). she's a bit too conceited for me, but she seems resourceful (not unlike myself) and soft-hearted beneath her haughty exterior. fleur also is rather outgoing around boys, and somewhat selective of whom she talks with. i'm outgoing in that if i see a guy looking at me, i'll approach him first. and i used to be really snobbish about not talking to people who just didnt "look right". thankfully i'm a lot more open-minded than that now! i also see myself in fred and george. we have similar senses of humor![/glow] Posted by NialleSylvan on 7 Dec 2001 at 8:03pmIf I'm being honest, the character I'm most like is Lupin... I change in ways that weird people out, even make them afraid, and yet it's very important to me to spend time with young people and help them find what is best in themselves. I wish I were more like Dumbledore and Hermione. Ah well. I've got time to work on that. Posted by lilgrasshopper on 7 Dec 2001 at 11:54pmI'm a bit of of Sirius and Snape...I jump to conclusion, am rarely rational and can't control my sarcasms. I think I have a pretty good sense of humour, am carefree, passionate, blunt and sometimes umm...cruel...just a bit Posted by RuadhSeron on 8 Dec 2001 at 12:16amI don't really know who I'm like. I probably don't work hard enough at everything to be like Hermione, though my parents say I'm very persistent. But, I care about my friends a whole lot. I guess I'm most like Ron, when it comes down to it. Although, we don't look anything alike. We're both in big families, both 2nd to youngest. You might think that doesn't really make our characters the same, but it does. We both are in our older siblings shadows, and at the same time are our younger sisters' mentors. The difference there is that I like being in their shadows, where Ron doesn't. Posted by minihagrid on 8 Dec 2001 at 7:53pmIm most like Draco, purely because of the Sarcasm factor. But im also similar to Seamus in Humour! (there goes that Lockhart modesty again Nialle!)

I can also be cruel. Other than that, I'm usually very peaceful and soft-hearted so I don't know who else I'm like. I'm loyal, east to get along with, open-minded, stubborn and quick to anger, but usually I'm a sweet guy. Posted by Marcus Flint on 10 Dec 2001 at 2:38pmI'm like Marcus Flint And Draco put together Posted by Eugenides379 on 20 Dec 2001 11:32pmI guess I am most like a combination of Snape and Bill and some "funky-weird" character that J.K.Rowling hasn't invented yet. . .but she will! Because funky-weird people are seriously under-represented! Snape because he's incredibly intelligent (I'm not saying I am also, but I am smart, and not in the Hermione Granger way), and he isn't happy in his position at the school, and people at the school don't really like him, mainly because they don't understand him. (I am one of those people that believes "if you understand someone, you can do nothing but love them." If you don't agree, discard all references to understanding people.) He is also. . .well. . .pretty mean. I tend to be like that. I don't usually mean it, like he does, but I am anyway. I'll say something that I think is funny, and the next thing I know, my little sister is crying and saying I'm mean, and now I feel an inward obligation to buy her real adidas since that was why I made her cry. I am like Bill because he is the "big-brotherly" type of guy. He looks out for his younger siblings. (He doesn't actually do that in the books, but that was the feeling I got from him.) He likes to have fun (example: air-table fighting with Charlie), but he knows when to stop (example: stopping air-table fighting when Percy got all flustered.) He is pretty mature, and I am pretty mature for my age. He has the earring going, and I would love to have a fang earring (anyone know where to find one?) He has long hair, which I guess is "punk" where he comes from. Well, I have fuschia(sp?)-metallic-red hair, but only on the top. The back and sides are buzzed off to about 1cm in length, and they are my natural hair color; a sort of dirt-blonde/light brown color. Plus, Bill seems really nice, so he would do things for other people that I find myself doing out of the blue. Like, during my finals, I brought in apples for the teachers. I don't know where it came from, but I did it. I got my little sister those adidas for her b-day (Dec. 12), and now I am getting her a disc-man with plug-ins to draw power off the car and a tape thingy so you can play it through a tape player for Christmas. I made my other little sister a tea table once. (Not the table, the tea and things.) I got it all set up, where we would sit, putting in all the sugar and cream and what-not, everything. I just do things like this, out of the blue; in fact, I don't even know where they come from, but I feel a lot better once I've done them. The funky-weird bit is because I haven't found a single person with my sense of humour. Not one. I have found people who understand my humour, but they are few and far between. I like random things for no reason that I can find, but I feel such a strong connection to them, that I won't pass them up for something else. So, after that whole essay, you think you get the gist?

Then Marcus and Fred'll hate me forever and all because you coughed Harry. D'ya really think I'm like Harry? actually, you sound like Harry and Cedric mixed together. to me, at least. i'm not really like anyone in the books.....not even the guys. maybe i could just create a weird character for Rowling. some geek kid in Slytherin who likes people in the other houses and reads all day. also, who loves LOTR, lies occasionally and has a terrible sense of humour. there's still more, but i don't think i should just list out all my bad points for everyone to see. *sigh* Posted by kaoru on 22 Dec 2001 at 2:47pm Well, the ficional character I most identify with is Kaoru Kamiya, but she's from Rurouni Kenshin not from Harry Potter, so what the hell ;D
From Harry Potter I'll have to say Sirius (comprehensive, sees funny stuff in everything, and the pure hate he feels for Snape...I feel the same hate for one person...when I hate, I hate), Hermione (not that I study like Hermione, but I have the same spirit and the "I have to do this and I will" thing. Except that she's not lazy to do it, and I am ), Fred and Geroge for their extraordinary sense of humour and...cof cof...like Malfoy, for the sarcasm.

well i am probably most like hagrid because i make very big dumb mistakes when i think i'm being good and helpful. i like motorcycles, scary-sized dogs and ties that look like something that died in 1970.
i do not have that much hair or a pink umbrella. but these details don't count, right.
i am also very big. and people don't trust my momb ecause she is different. and i want to be a philosophy professor but i don't have a degree yet and anyway i'd probably scare the students because i talk about dead philoosophers like i saw them at lunch.

Humph...who am I like?
I think Ron would be the closest, although not an exact replica... Ron's a red head, so am I...hehe...as I say, we have to stick together... Plus, he's scared of spiders, and so am I...and all together he's a nice guy, cares about his friends, his house is pretty open to the his friends, his parents are kind, he makes mistakes pretty often when he tries to stand up and be brave, I'd like to think I'm like that too.
Except I think I'm a little deeper sometimes than Ron...and a little on the smarter side (although this post really isn't showing it, huh?) Yeah, I'd like to think I'm like Ron...

oh i think ron is very smart. maybe not the same way as hermione... it's not like he knows every page of every book in the library. but he is really good at wizard chess, isn't he? that takes major brains... i stink at chess. he'll probably fill out emotionally when he gets past his first puppy crush (fleur). you never know, maybe he'll resort to desperate soul-wrenching poetry if hermione keeps on with krum. guys are slow.

Hmm...I guess by smart I meant book smart...as I have my genius sister's shoes to fill . But if Ron started to write poetry and became in-tuned with all his feelings, wouldn't he lose a little bit of his quirkyness?

i was KIDDING. if ron were going to ask hermione out he would probably a) trip over his own foot b) turn red and not be able to speak c) yell at her about something totally unrelated and then suddenly yell "and i bet if i asked you out you wouldn't even go"
poetry sounds more like... i dunno... draco? hey! where are the geeky soul-wrenching guys in hp anyway! i guess lupin could do it... maybe i'm lupin.

Hmm...Cedric? Cedric might write poetry...
What about Percy? Or do you think he's too practical?
Harry's pretty geeky and has a lot of issues despite his infamous scar and skill on the quiditch field...

cedric - no. he was nice and everything but doesn't strike me as the type. he might try it once if he thought cho would like it though. percy - definitely yes, but he wouldn't show it to anyone he couldn't absolutely 100% trust with his life, in case it jeapordized his career. harry - maybe. it's early yet. you know what drives me nuts? people who ship for harry and cho. one, it's a total puppy crush, and two, the fact that she just actually lost her boyfriend might not make her want to dive into a cute first relationship for harry.

I agree that his crush is just puppy love, as most first crushes are, especailly, not to sound too old and on another soapbox, since he is young. I mean, he isn't young but he still has a lot to learn, as do we all. And of course, the whole Cedric dying did put a stunt in any near future relationships for her, but isn't it the feeling that you want someone to truly like Harry, other than his friends. Don't you want someone for him? If that made sense, I'm on a roll today.

*bows* Why thank you, minih ;D
It's funny, I don't feel especially Lupinish anymore. But I appear to have convinced a large number of people that I'm at least somewhat like Dumbledore. Pshaw.
And also funny... I rather find I am wanting to be more like Sirius. Tough enough to weather despair, true to friends, and not afraid to do what I believe is right. And I sort of want a godchild. Not a child of my own, but a young person I can... mentor? Is that the word I want? Because Dumbledore spends more time with Harry than probably any other student, but he has to balance his time between a lot of people and projects. Which is cool, but... I guess I wonder if Dumbledore has a particular closeness with ANYbody.
And no, I don't mean romantic love. Why does everything have to revolve around romantic love?

Wow. It's so weird looking at what we were all thinking back then. I mean, I remember the Lockhart reference, but I was referring more to, you know, like Nialle said about he isn't especially Lupinish anymore. It's especially weird, 'cause I can see Lupin in her a lot more now than I could before.
'Cause think about it, Nialle, Lupin does sort of mentor Harry alone. They don't only talk about making Harry's Patronus. They discuss other things, and Lupin helps Harry figure a few things out, in a round-about way. And I'm sure that if Lupin weren't trying to handle everything himself (*raises brows at En*), and if he didn't have to worry about saying th wrong thing to Harry (*brows raise a bit more*), then a lot more would have come of it, you know? They would have been able to trust each other more, if Lupin hadn't had such secretive and important issues on his mind.
And Lupin's also sort of. . . "alone", but not exactly. He has friends and stuff, and he can confide in people, but he's usually living alone, because his werewolfness makes it so that he doesn't want to cause trouble for people. So you get the impression that he's been living alone for a while. And he's all independent and stuff. He's clever. He's interested in a lot of different areas. . .
I see you a lot more as Lupin than I do Dumbledore. Sort of like, I see you as Bean rather than Ender. Ender always leads everyone, and he's the head of everything, and everyone focuses on him. Bean is. . . resented a little, but it's mainly that people have issues with him, so he doesn't get as many people to actually listen to him. He's a great leader, but smaller groups work better with him. He can think about larger groups than Ender can, but he can't appeal to their emotions as easily. I think you're more like that. You're really good with emotions being focused on just a few people, even if you can handle what fifty people are thinking and doing. You see what I mean? So Lupin makes a great teacher, because he's dealing mentally with a lot of kids, but emotionally with only a few at a time. And Dumbledore can easily handle getting everyone to calm down and walk to their dormitories, trolls in the dungeon not-with-standing, but he's much less likely to think who might disobey the rules.
It was also weird re-reading Leia's. (I remember I hated all posts in glow, and I would automatically put a little "why do you do that? *angry face*" check next to people I noticed using it. It wasn't enough to keep me from actually talking to them, but it annoyed me. *rolls eyes*) Leia has so much more dept now, as a person, you know? And so Fleur used to suit her, in my mind. But now I'm thinking, "no, we need someone, one of the characters, with real depth, someone J.K.Rowling really developes as a person, because Leia is a full person, and Fleur feels like only 3/4 of one." Yeah, um, I get weird ideas like that. Does anyone agree, or am I out on a limb here?
And I know I don't feel Snape-ish or Bill-ish, not now. I can recognize what I was saying then, but those aren't my main points anymore. *thinks a bit* I don't really know who I'm like. I know who I want to be like, but I'm not enough like them for it to count yet. I mean, if I could find a hybrid of Lupin and McGonagall, I'd be set. That's my dream self-portrayal, you know? But right now. . . I think I actually am Snape/Bill. I still have all those things going. (Though the hair has shanged.) I'm still mean and I got a lot more protective and. . . I dunno. Any outside points of view?
And Nialle, if you hadn't mentioned romantic love, I wouldn't have thought of it. Besides, I think Dumbledore is a lot closer to McGonagall than the books let on. (That's understandable though, since the books center around a student, and students don't usually pay too much attention to the adults who aren't suspicioshus. (Sorry, in Little Women mode.) Ehem, I mean, suspicious.) Dumbledore does confide in her to some degree. And she trusts him. (Well, everyone trusts him, but that's not the point.) And they just seem to get along. Enough that they might get together for holidays, if they weren't already together at the school. *shrugs* I think they have a lot more for each other (still non-sexual, *looks at Nialle*) than we know about yet.

*feels slightly sorry for herself because she missed "the good ole' days", but then jumps in the conversation anyway, because she's here now, dadgummit* Gen, I totally agree with you about the McGonagall/Dumbledore thing. She always seems to be right there, helping him make the important decisions... I bet he confides a lot in her. (That's kind of a weird thought though, Dumbledore confiding in people. I don't know why it's so strange, but it is). Anyway, Gen, I never would have seen you as Snape. Never in a million years. Maybe it's because I see Snape as a beast, and you're, well, not. I kinda feel the Bill thing, but I always think of you as Dumbledore. I think that the intellegence factor plays a major part in it, but I also think that the way you care about people is there too. Dumbledore cares a lot about the students and Harry, but he doesn't make a big show of it. When you need him most, he's there with his love and thought and everything else helping you. You and I don't talk for hours on the phone everyday, but we don't need to. I know you care about me, and you're there when I need you. Like, a few weeks or days ago (I can't remember; I have such a horrible sense of time passage) I was talking to you about some of the fights that I've been having with my mom. When we were talking, you were Dumbledore. As for myself... I've heard over and over again that I'm Hermione, but I just don't see it. I kinda see myself more as Neville. I'm horribly clumsy. I trip over things that aren't even there. I do have good intentions when I say or do something, but it usually doesn't work. I think there's a little bit of Ron in me as well. I'm not like the rest of my family, I'm a bit rebellious (so that's not how Ron is now, but that's just a theory of mine), and I have an affinity for sweets. ;D. Funny, how I'm a Ravenclaw but the people I'm most like are all in Gryffindor. Maybe I'm not really a Ravenclaw, I just want to be. I probably don't make any sense; I just finished taking a math test. I'll edit this post later if my thoughts settle down.
