But in a way, Percy seems as if he's always expecting more. Like Ron once told Harry, I don't know I think the number was 12, either OWLS or NEWTS that Percy got, and it's not like he was that happy at getting such a great grade. I mean come on....

That's Percy's ambition showing through. No matter how high he gets he wants to make it to the next rung of the ladder, adn the next, and the next. There's nothing wrong with being ambitious so long as you keep things in persective. But Percy seems to never feel like he's good enough for anyone and so always makes that extra effort to make them think he's good enough.
Perhaps that's why he put so much effort into writing letters to Penelope during the summer - to amke himself appear the perfect and oyal bf.

Well if thats what he wanted his family to think why was he writing the letters in secret?
Yes but wouldn't have Percy realised that they would probably not praise him for it they would just tease him about being so obbssed about it.
If i got the muggle equivalent of 12 owls i would be ecastatic. I got a c in my history last year and i was very pleased.
I think that percy is a little bit too ambitious for his own good and that it will soon be his downfall.
Maybe percy will be that disappointed with fudge he will leave the ministry of magic and go back to his family.

Percy reminds me a bit of Hermione, about the marks and such. But at least she's happy with them marks she gets. OK, they're always top marks, so I don't think she'd be able to do better.
It could be Natz, but regarding how stubborn he is, it will be difficult. More like he was seeing him as a sort of idol, realises he was wrong all the time, and leaves horrorstricken. Drama!

No, I meant Percy wanted Penelope to think he was the perfect, loyal bf, not his family. I was just pointing out that it seemed he was trying to get approval from all directions, and was trying to prove himself to everyone in different ways.

I get it. Don't worry I had understood you perfectly well. Though, Penelope's always been attached to him. She's the only one who listens to him

Are Percy and penelope still together then? because we haven't heard much about her in recent books.
Oh thats a good point Li that i agree with percy is trying to prove himself in different ways to different people which shows that he is insecure in himself because he wants to achieve more than his brothers.
Thats a point hermoine there is a danger that percy could see fudge as an idol as he did with crouch and this time if he lands in all sorts of trouble perhaps he will get thrown out of the ministry?

I think they still are. Or maybe she's woken up and realised what a lump she had for a b/f ;D
Did you notice, that Percy's the only one who has a girlfriend? OK, we don't know anything about Bill and Charlie but.....that's something else we don't need. Him going about saying "I've got a girlfriend and you don't!"

But the fact that Fleur is Bill's girlfriend is't that official. To put it in a more simple way, he doesn't show it as much as Percy does.
Could be and could be not. We'll have to wait and see.

I think j.k rowling has done that on purpose to show that bill doesn't need to show off because he already considers himself to be succesful but he doesn't want to brag about it like percy does which shows the readers that percy is unsure of himself so far and wants to go further just so he can be more succesful than his brothers.
I guess we will have to wait and see what happens to the characters in the next book.

Yeah, but one question, anyone know when it comes out? For all I know j.k. is still writing it.
Yeah you're right Natz. He's a big show off with a little bit of the know-it-all in him too.

Give Rowling a little time to write the next book. It took her a while to write the 5th one, and I think she's going to want the events of it to really sink in before she releases the next one.
For now, we just have to try and work out what we think is happening with characters from what we've already read. It's fun to compare what we think will happen to what does happen when the next book is released, and the more time we have to do that, the more things we can come up with.

Does anyone know whether the next book is going to be longer or shorter than book five? According to the news i was watching she said that she had already written this book. But anything could happen. Like the govts over here found a convieniet loop hole to allow them to introduce top up fees into university education Sorry about my rant i'm just annoyed. Thats true. Does anyone think that in the next book that the weaslys might come into some money?

The 5th book was the longest therefore the 6th will be shorter, too bad.
They could, but they have already come by some in the past, and I think j.k. would go for something else, rather than repeat something that she already wrote of. One thing is sure, Fred and George sure are doing money.
