Well, and that's why I think Drgnphre is pretty much right -- what it will take to stop Percy going round the bend is to remind him that family is what matters. And maybe to show him why it's just as good to be Headmaster of Hogwarts, or even a good dad with a middling job, as it is to be Minister of Magic... and that it's no good being Minister at all if you haven't got what matters to you (security, love, family, a sense of well-being, whatever). I think that Percey will pretty much end up like Crouch but not dead (added hastily) He likes power and he will have supporters tthat think fighting fire withfire is the way to go but he won't be a death eater. He will probally kill a member of his family by not being with the order or something and his career will crash and everyone will realize what a jerk he is.

I doubt that Percy will join the dark side, even though I absolutely hate how he is right now. The Harry Potter series strikes me as the kind of series that will have a happy ending, but the last book has kind of poked and prodded at that happy feeling thing. Who knows, maybe Lord Voldemort has even possessed him now, causing him to turn against his family and their beliefs.
