I've probably seen Robin Hood about 10 times all up in my lifetime. I still remember the songs, especially the "Hoo-de-la-de" one from the opening credits. Thing is, I liked the idea of the whole cast being different animals, and the fact that maid Marion wasn't some hopless princess Damsel in distress thing that was supposed to be Robin's primary focus, unlike some of the other disney movies. Oh, but it took me 3 years before I realised the singing Rooster was supposed to be Will Scarlet!

Treasure Planet didn't do real well financially speaking, but I thought it was a great movie. The artwork was incredibly beautiful. I really enjoyed Emma Thompson as the ship's capitan.

when i was younger, i was always so scared of " Beauty and the beast" * and though i hate to admit it, i still am a little" and although treasure planet was a good movie, my all time fave was the LIon King. i had the sheets, the soundtrack, the songs, and i use to turn the volume way up and jump on my bed in rythm to the music,* once i fell off, very imbarrising*

I would have to say Little Mermaid. I loved Ariel ...I think she was kind of my idol at one point. I was fairly young of course. She was beautiful, sweet, brave, and independent. I remember myself styling my hair to be just like hers. ;D But then for some reason my mom gave away the movie. I was very depressed...

This will give everyone a good laugh, but when I was about 12-13ish, I had a crush on Aladdin. Like, the cartoon guy. Well, I thought he was really cute, and because he ran around in nothing except the baggy pants and the open vest and fez all day... heh. ;D
*looks around* Alright, you can stop laughing now.

Ah! I had a crush on Aladdin when I was little! *grins* He was such a great character...they just don't make them like they used to...(how old am I again? Should I break out the dentures and the cane?) And Prince Eric....

*gasps and looks really relieved* Cal, and I thought I was the only one!!
Oh, and as for Prince Eric... *grins* Yeah, he was relatively spunky for a 2-D cartoon guy, but Aladdin was the best. And he had that cute little monkey elephant guy with him.

I would have to say Little Mermaid. I loved Ariel ...I think she was kind of my idol at one point. I was fairly young of course. She was beautiful, sweet, brave, and independent. I remember myself styling my hair to be just like hers. ;D OMG! Willow, I was like that too!! I wanted to let my hair grow so I could dye it red and have it like hers, I swear! I remember being 7 or something and going with my mum to this shop, and the shop assistant asked me if I never thought of letting my hair grow ((I wore it really short by then)). My mother said something like "She wants to have it like Ariel from The Little Mermaid".
Now I'm letting it grow to wear it like Tomoe Yukishiro from Rurouni Kenshin does. I wont dye it black of course. I'll be a light-brown version of Tomoe.
I still adore Ariel. She's just... I just love her. She's amazing. And I know how it feels to dream about something impossible to have ((though she does have it in the end)). Maybe what I need is King Triton to appear and send me to Russia so I could learn how to skate magically and go to the Europeans next year.
Crush on Aladdin, eh? That's so cute. And he is cute. "Riff raff, street rat, I don't buy that... if only they looked closer..." You might find it stupid but, apart from Ariel ((which I didn't have a crush on, it was more obsession)) I had a crush on...
...Simba. I mean it. He was way too adorable when he was little and so in denial when he was older. Ok, so I just realise all that psychological stuff now, but... he was cute! I was a kid! I have Lion King sheets too, to the one who mentioned it.

Outer-species crushes, eh? It's okay, my cousin had a crush on Spirit when it came out. I just plain out love Matt Damion...so, I could see where she was coming from. "Would they see a poor boy?" Hehe...ahhh... Ariel...I used to pretend to be her, you know in the bathtub, sing the song, do that little thing on the rock when all the water splashes up around her. And I had red hair, so I was sooooooo sure I really was her. Sad. What can I say, I had a lot of identity issues. For example, although it isn't a disney movie, Cera from the Land Before Time, well, her name is the same as mine and when I was three-fourish I would pretend I was her, ya know, and go around and say things like "I'm a three-horn, we don't like long necks" and in the book for the movie, one of the lines was "Cera said stomping off" and I would go around saying "Dompin' off" and my parents had no idea what I was saying, and I'd kind of do this bull thing, where I would paw the ground and then let out this wail and put my head down and like butt people...and one time I almost broke my mom's tailbone and she had to go into the hospital . I was...imaginative to say the least, as a small chitlen.

Wow, both of you did the same thing? I don't feel so alone anymore.
As for Simba, it really doesn't matter to me. He is kinda cute once you think about it...
Calantha, that's alright. You were young and it was an accident. Plus, it's good to have an imagination.
:sighs:
I wish they would make more musical Disney movies. I always loved to sing along while I watched a movie.

Yeah, the latest Disney movies suck big time, I must say. I mean Treasure Planet and Lilo and Stitch were okay, but it's not the same thing. It doesn't have that... impact.
I love to sing while I'm watching the movies too, specially The Little Mermaid. I know the movie by heart in two languages, Brazilian Portuguese and English. Brazilian because when those first Disney tapes came out we didn't have our own dubbing companies, so we just let the Brazilians do it for us. Since it's the same language and all, just spoken with a different accent and some other differences here and there. So yeah. It's fun to know both things though, but my ultimate thumbs up go to the English version. I mean... when something is dubbed it sure does loose a lot of its original... erm... magic.
Speaking of Disney songs, I love "Out There" from Hunchback Of Notre-Dame. Love love love that.
Me and my friend Joana spent the whole History class last Friday ((at least the first hour)) singing Disney songs and impersonating some characters. The funniest was when we were speaking like the natives in Pocahontas do. And we started to make this different pronounciations on Kokom or what the hell it is name, so we just... it was awesome. Nicky says not paying attention in History it's a universal thing and I'm starting to believe her.
Boy, am I talkative or what?
Nowadays, what keeps me attached to The Lion King is that it's just so... emotional. That bit when his father is telling him about kings going to heaven and turn into stars and all that, and then Simba says "but you're always gonna be here, right?". And then Mufasa dies. And then when Timon and Pumba are wondering what the big bright things in the sky are and Simba tells them that they're acient kings watching us from above and they mock him, the way he gets depressed is just amazing. It's like... not wanting to deal with the past. Just wanting to disappear. Sorta Rurouni Kenshin-ish, yet different.
And I'm still searching for the English version DVD. I only have it in Portuguese. Well you know... Jeremy Irons' voice as Scar sounds temptational. ;D

Oh my, you are a true Little Mermaid fan. I could never memorize the movie in two languages. That is very amazing! The song I really loved singing was "Once Upon a December" in Anastasia. I had that memorized and I would sing it to make my little sister fall asleep.

Anastasia isn't a Disney movie is it? I thought it was 20th Century Fox. Ah well. Yeah, that music is awesome, specially with all the walking-in-an-old-palace-imagining-a-feast-sort-of-flashback thing. Really good.
But from Anastasia, though it's not a Disney movie, I'd say "Jorney To The Past". Gosh I love that song. The girl that sings it sings it just so well.
Lea Salonga is better though. I mean Jasmine and Mulan. Her voice is unbelievable. You should hear her singing "On My Own" from Les Miz. It's amazing.

Nope, Anastasia isn't a Disney movie. It's such a great movie though. The whole story is interesting just because it's based on a true occurence.
Ha! I watch the Lion King at least once a month. It's so sad, but Timon and Pumba add the mucy needed comical relief.
And Mulan has to be my favourite Disney movie of all times. I think it's simply because it's different. First of all its set in a different culture and second of all, she's actually doing something. She's not baking or going to a ball, and she's not a princess.
I don't like Aladdin or the Little Mermaid.
