I thought it was in the 200s, though I haven't seen the episode in a while (and I doubt they re-run it frequently). And they didn't bleep the "s" word, they actualy said it. I was very surprised that it was allowed, and even more surprised that there hasn't been any type of extreme stunts like that since (though I don't remember reading about any serious backlash).

So, what did you think of the season premiere, or the Halloween special? Heck, let's go deeper. What is your fave episode/character/quote?
I know you Simpson fans are out there!! Let's get this thead going again! ;D

Um, well I kinda missed the premiere cause I was busy being overly interested in a certain group of guys who live in my county. Can't really say which ep is my favourite, as they all have redeeming qualities. I really like the one where Lisa and Bart are on opposing hockey teams. That was cool.

I still love the Halloween special with the "Shining" parody.
"No beer and no TV make Homer somthing something." "Go Crazy?" "Don't mnd if I do!"
"David Letterman!" (As Homer breaks through the door) "Hi David, I'm Grandpa."
Didn't miss much on the premiere. Just a bunch of rock star cameos. Not many memorable moments or lines.

Glargh, we're not getting those episodes until next year.
Oooh, but they show the old Halloween eps, which I kinda like, even if the credits are cheesy. One of my faves is the one when Maggie is actually Kang's daughter and they go on Jerry Springer. Because Jerry Springer is funny in itself, but that's another story.

My favourite character is definitely Homer. How can it be anyone else?! ;D My next favourite would probably be Barney...because I always feel so sad for him. He's the kind of character that makes me go "Awww...." (Like the one with his helicopter flying lessons.)
haha, great stuff
But does anyone think that the producers are really starting to lose their touch? I mean, the newer shows are getting more crude and just plain nasty some times. Some things are pretty disgusting or disturbing. I miss the classic humor of the older (but not the oldest) episodes.

I hear ya, Silver Phoenix!
No seriously, after about Season 7 or something, I think the producers started running out of ideas and the show went downhill. See how many guest stars they've brought in of late to get ratings up? Oh, and how many stupid clip shows they've done? The show isn't half as good as it used to be but I'm still watching every single episode in the hopes that they do bring in some new and interesting material.

Yeah, some of the newer episodes are getting pretty bad, well, at least compared to their older stuff. (Did you guys see the most recent Halloween Simpsons? It's kinda nasty...again.) I guess last week's was pretty good. Did anyone watch it? It was about Homer's attempted murderer. lol, that was a pretty great show...the ending was predictable but I loved this one line near the end. Should I say it? It would ruin the show for others... The clip shows are...ok. Sometimes they're really good, but other times they're really cheesy. I really miss those musical sequences. They have some of the BEST songs!

Yes, I saw the most recent Simpsons' Halloween. Didn't care for it much, but I usually don't like many of their Halloween episodes.
Wasn't it in one of the Halloween episodes where Homer became real? I liked that one.
I think I saw the episode last week. Well, I think I saw part of it. What was the line you loved? I want to hear it.
I never really liked the clip shows. Something about them bothers me...

I think the reason clip shows annoy me is because I feel ripped off after seeing them- I sit down and watch the simpsons expecting to see at least 15 of the 23 minutes (excluding ads) of footage being new, but with the clip shows, it's like they're making a plot to string together all these chunks of footage I've already seen, especially if it's really old footage and the colours/voices/etc. don't line up. I don't know, but it does annoy me.
Oooh! And I haven't seen the new episodes yet! We're in Mid-season right now, so we're getting all the really old eps of the simpsons from like, 6 years ago.

I'm not really bothered by clip shows. Some of them are kinda funny, although pointless...very pointless. Keeper, you're right. The one where Homer becomes real was one of the stories in an older Halloween special. It was called Homer 3. Great show. Neko, is the show really that behind? Hmm...well, don't read this next part then, unless you want the new episode spoiled... hehe, well in the new show, this guy was trying to murder Homer, so Wiggum has to bring out Bob to protect Homer. In the end, the murderer is Frank Grimes' (does anyone remember him??) son. When Homer is talking to him at the end, well, basically, here's the conversation (well, something like it): Grimes, Jr.: I'm his son! Homer: How's old Grimey doing? Grimes, Jr.: He's dead! Homer: Wait, Frank Grimes wasn't married. Grimes, Jr.: My father happened to like hookers, okay? lol, that last line was hilarious! ;D

I remember the Homer3 Ep! That was the 3D one, right? That one won some kind of award. Maybe an Emmy or something. "Mmmm, erotic cake..."!! ;D
Ew... I can't imagine Frank Grimes with a hooker!! Ack!!
Oh, speaking of gross stuff, I got a new client at work the other day and he seriously could be Barney Gumble's IRL equivalent. He's disgusting.

Yep, Barney Gumble is the character who's constantly drunk. But I think he's a cute character. Not cute in that way, but in that he's always so...drunk. And confused. I'll stop talking now. Yeah, the Grimes thing was weird, but it was a little better than some of the shows they're making nowadays. Really? Homer 3 won an award?! That's so awesome!! Bart: "Homer, you'll have to jump!" Homer: "No problem." *Homer walks jumps right into the hole* hehe ;D

Yeah, Barney Gumble= drunk guy Barney. It was really weird, a few years ago I did a "list of all the Simpsons Characters I know" just for fun and it ended up in the 100s, which was a bit of a worry. I didn't know they had that many characters! Imagine doing the voices for all of them... Ack!
