I start on the 1st of October so I still have a bit to go. ;D
How come you guys have to do homework during the summer? We never get any. I've always wondered that while reading HP. because the teachers believe that, without summer assignments (and plenty of them, trust me,) we'll go brain dead, ruin the rest of our high school years, which, in turn, will ruin our chances of college, which will ruin/determine what job we get (if we get any, at this rate, we won't ), and basically live a meaningless life until we die. idk. why can't they let us ENJOY holidays for once? i mean, we all work and such during summer, so why add onto the amount of work? oy. i should go on strike. but seriously, if i didn't do my summer assignments, i can't be in advanced placement classes. and we can't have that.

Thanks. Basically after you do your law degree and all this other stuff (like the course I was doing until June) and you have fulfilled all the requirements to become a lawyer, then you can get admitted to legal practice. That basically means that once you have gone through this admission ceremony (which is what I did today), you are a fully fledged lawyer and you can go and practice law and everything and call yourself a lawyer.
Anyway... The ceremony was cool, we had this whole thing where you have to stand and bow to the supreme court judges and then they do this speech about what it means to be a lawyer and then you have to get up and swear (or affirm - if you don't believe in god or whatever) the oath that you'll uphold the law and administer justice or whatnot, and then you sign the roll and get a certificate and everything. So now my official title is that I've been admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, so that's where that came from. ;D

That's really great Ko! Congratulations!! I remember seeing that scene when you have to do the oath and everything on a TV show at one time.
Now we'll have to think of a new professional name for you. Oh and I hope everything goes well with your move to Michigan.

So does this mean you can set up as a private lawyer straight away? Or do you have to work for The Supreme Court first?

Thanks everyone. Basically it means I'm a real live lawyer but they have a rule that you can't just unleash onto the public right away. You have to work for another lawyer (like, in a firm) for at least 6 months before you can go out and set up your own business. Not that I care, since I'm going to be doing a Master's degree for the next two years anyway.
By the way, greetings from Michigan!!

Thanks you two!! Yeah, Michigan is in the Eastern time zone I think? It's so confusing, because I flew through LA and Chicago as well before i got here and it was like, we had to go through all these different time zones. But yeah, it's the same as Ontario.

Ko has arrived, to reek havoc upon the Michigan and the Great Lakes.
Glad to hear you arrived safe and sound. How long was your flight? ((although it sounds like you had many flights))
