Oh, I was basically booing the fact that Ubisoft weren't going to publish MxO. Ubisoft does lots of cool FPS games and other shooters and stuff, like they did Splinter Cell and XIII and stuff. I would have prefered them to do it than Sega. I mean, what has Sega done lately that doesn't involve annoying blue hedgehogs with too much attitude?

Sega has improved somewhat since becoming a third-party dev for Nintendo, but i just hope it works. We all remember what happened LAST time Sega tried to pick themselves up of the floor....did anyone actually buy a dreamcast anyway?
BTW, has anyone played 'Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind"? I'm currently playing it, and it's almost entirely a user-directed storyline. I mean, i've played for at least 40 hours, without having done a single story mission. It's really, really good, although i wouldn't recommend it unless your PC has a bitching video card. Or an Xbox, hehe.

My house mate is playing the Doom 3 demo on his computer next to me and he's near sh*ting himself, and I'm watching it and near sh*ting myself. It's actually really scary. So if there is anyone out there who's scare's easily, I would recomend either playing it in broad daylight or not at all.
Also, for anyone who plays Magic the Gathering (card game), I don't think much of the new Fifth Dawn stuff. It focuses too much on you using all colour decks. I prefer 1-2 colour decks personally. Though Fifth Dawn does have some cool Myrs... Mmmmm... Myrs....

I played the official Beta test of DOOM 3 at work, when we was testing it, and even I sh@t myself when we was testing it, its one scary piece of work.
Mind you when I started playing DOOM2, I'd be no older than about 13/14 (maybe just a little younger) and that have me issues with those big red floating meatball loooking like blood dripping things.... scared the heck outta me!!!
Looking forward to Republic Commando next year.
Wohoooo yeah!

I'm such a wimp that if you kids are freaking out over Doom3, I'm not going near it. I'm a real wuss when it comes to scary games. I remember I played Alien vs Predator in a dark room at night with surround sound (so like, if the aliens were on your left, the left speaker would do footsteps and stuff) and it totally freaked me out! I couldn't sleep for ages.

Rome: Total War is an awesome game. The graphics in it are amazing. And some of the views you can have of the battles are astounding. My house mate has been playing it non-stop for days and won't let me have a turn. So I keep watching over his shoulder and bugging him.

Man, that looked awesome...
Viewtiful Joe was pretty darn funny and fun to play. Crazy japanese humor. The sequel should be coming out soon.
Silent Hill 4 kinda... sucks. You can only save in one room (yours) and there is way too much backtracking... It is pretty darn creepy, but I still think the second and first game were the best ones. Plus, the battle system is very hard. It's too darn hard to position yourself for any blows without sustaining tons of damage. Eh... Plus the constant de-haunting in order to get a perfect ending got on my nerves.

If any of you have an XBox, I strongly suggest going out and getting Fable if you haven't already. This game is awesome. It's like a medieval fantasy RPG (like, you have quests and you can go and beat up bad guys with your sword/axe/hammer/katana/mace) but every action you do has consequences in that you can steal stuff from people's houses, kill them, and do evil stuff like that, or you can be good and help people and stuff. And what you do affects how people in towns treat you and even what you look like. Like, if you're really evil, you'll grow horns and people will scream and run away from you, but if you're good then everyone likes you and you aren't all ugly and twisted and stuff. The Fable world has heaps of stuff to explore and all these side quests and stuff so it's really worth having a look. The graphics are awesome too and there's all this cool interactive stuff you can do with your items and maps and stuff so yeah. Be warned though, this one can get pretty addictive...

We hired out Fable for a weekend, and almost finished it too. You were right- it's awesome! The story is so player-directed, with all the sidequests and stuff. I loved the 'bragging platform' at the Inn
I finished Half-Life 2 yesterday. It's one of the best games i've ever played, but the ending annoyed me A LOT. It's like watching a really, really good TV show that ends with a cliffhanger 'To Be Continued', but the continuation wont be released until 2008
I hate that
The game is awesome though. The Ravenholm chapter scared the pants off me, seriously. It's almost like Valve took all the scary bits from Resident Evil, Silent Hill and every other zombie game and mashed it all together into a 3 hour long section of game. It was insanely difficult, insanely scary, and insanely cool. An awesome storyline to boot, too. If anyone's considering buying it, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Speaking of Silent Hill, we hired out Silent Hill 4 on the weekend as well. It's by far the absolute scariest game i've ever played, even worse than Ravenholm in HL2. It's got one of those storylines that seems like it belongs in a Japanese horror anime. You know the ones . It's about a guy who gets stuck in his apartment. Not just stuck, as in the door won't open- he wakes up one day, and his door's covered in all these chains, locks, nails, etc etc, his windows are stuck, and nobody can hear his screams for help. (And, there's messages in blood scrawled throughout the house) Then theres all this stuff about ghosts and portals and dreams and vicious murders and heaps of cool gory stuff like that. The storyline makes absolutely no sence until the final cutscene- and then you go ".....oh, YEAH!!! I remember that!" If you see this game for hire, get it, and then play it really late at night with the lights off. You'll never, ever forget it.

We hired out Star Wars: Jedi Knight/Jedi Academy or something (I can't remember the name, the game is back at the video store now ). It's pretty good, because you can switch between FPS and TPS and you get the kill storm troopers and stuff and it's really nerdy! Best bit is that you get to pick your lightsaber and there are all these different coloured blades you can get (but no red! Boo!)... I think choosing my character and my lightsaber took about an hour in total. But it's so cool.

My house mate has been playing it non-stop for days and won't let me have a turn. So I keep watching over his shoulder and bugging him. I agree Nie! My brother has it, and he's pretty much obsessed by it. That, included with all his games including anything Roman.
I tried Grand Theft Auto III yesterday, and I found that my driving skills are terrible, and I'm the world's worst taxi driver. I thought I'd take a taxi, and do some routes, but I think I killed about a 100 people along the way, smashed a multitude of cars, caused taxis to become near extinction, and many Indians(I think that's what they were anyway) to become unemployed, if not killed. Yup! Great game! ;D
