Yeah I've just seen that on another site, but Bloomsbury sent out an e-mail stating that such information is just rumours and are not to be believed, as JK had told us on her website.
Hehe, bet they saw our discussions on who would die here on TD.

Imagine if JK ever came here?
Seriously though, she said she went in a chatroom once where everyone called Voldemort Voldy. If she came here, she'd find something totally revolutionary. Pocket Voldie.

Lol, true! But doesn't she take a lot of risks by visiting message boards and chat rooms related to HP and directly to her? Because sometimes fans are a little harsh when things don't go their way on the books, and they can be a little rude.
I mean, I wouldn't like her to read what I wrote about her when I finished OoTP. I so overreacted. :x

Yeah, but imagine if people all over the world were talking about you and what you took months to write. Don't tell me you wouldn't feel curious to know what they're saying about you? I mean, I would certainly.
I'm remembering when she talked in the Mugglenet chat, and she wanted to talk about HBP, but the people online told her they had been talking about it for ages(not knowing it was her), and so they talked about Spongebob Squarepants the whole time.

Oh that's so hilarious! I think I do remember her saying that.
...What if En were actually JKR is disguise?!
But if JKR really did ever find TD, I think she'd be pleasantly surprised. We've had some interesting theories before...

Sorry if this was already discussed, but...
... could the HBP be Snape? :x

Well now that is an interesting idea. I mean we shall be learning more of Snape in the next 2 books no doubt. And the teaser JK gave us from the chapter "Snape's Worst Memory" in OOTP(or wasn't it from that chapter?) is bound to continue in its explanation in future.
Nevertheless, I don't think it's him. To begin with, he's a Pureblood because he was in Slytherin.

I don't really think it's Snape either, just because JKR likes to introduce new, important characters, but we can't completely rule it out. Are we absolutely sure that all Slytherins are Purebloods? I mean, the only person that would really know is the Sorting Hat (well, and probably Dumbledore), and if it saw some great potential for Slytherin, maybe it would overlook the lack of pure blood.

Hmm...this reminded me of something. As you said Sphinxie, if the Sorting Hat deems that you're best fitting in Slytherin, like you'll end up being very bad in future, it will put you in Slytherin. I mean Tom Riddle, having a Muggle for a father was also a Slytherin. I had completely obliterated that fact.
Well, let's see. Remember Snape's memory? A man towering over a cowering woman? What if the man is a wizard, and the woman is a common muggle or a half-blood, and I dunno, maybe she had told him she was pure-blood and then he learned the truth? That would explain his anger in that scene.

We don't necessarily know that the person in the excerpt is the HBP, but it's always a possibility.

You may know how those HBP reporters which were chosen through the competitions which have been taking place lately will be going to Edinburgh castle to hear JK read and all. This is a report of what's been going with the preparations and such:
I tell you, those reporters are waaaaay lucky. And now I've learnt that Melissa and Emerson, will actually be going to JK's home to interview her. Wow!!!

dude, that sounds so awesome! Last year I was so caught up on all the stuff that was going on with the release of the 5th book and coming here and everything, but this year I've hardly spent any time on the computer. What is this I hear about an excerpt? Has one been released for the HBP like they did for th OOTP? Man I am so behind. . . and those children are sooo lucky!!

The excerpt has been out for quite a bit now. I think you have seen it before in earlier pages of this thread.
Anyway this is it:
"He looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp."
This may and may not be the HBP.
